The American Legion has a spot in my heart due to the fact that my family chooses this for all their family events. The place isn’t the best looking hall or biggest, but for the price that it charges their members it’s not bad. I went here just this past weekend, and thank god they had a working A/C unit. I pulled up and kept praying that it did. The staff here are always friendly. I wish they did have cheaper booze though. I had to tell the bartender to pour a little stronger as they charge you club prices for booze. That’s my main gripe here… you would think they would have cheaper booze! Good times!

Attended a reception there last week, after a funeral for a relative. Haven’t been to many of these kind of ‘clubs’ where you have to be former military, an old broad married to a former military, an old widow who was married to an old military person or just an old bar girl from back in the day… drinks were cheap, the bartender was an old, rude dude who acted as if WE were all doing him a favor by spending our money at their cheesy bar and the parking was HORRENDOUS. This is NOT the place you want to hang out at night and then have to walk a couple of blocks to get to your car in any direction. It is straight out hood on one side of the club, used car dealerships on the other side and repair shops around those places. The food for the reception was brought in by the family but we had to buy our own drinks… there were many American flags and patriotic posters about and that made my old Army mom heart very happy… but the vibe in there was awful. If you are not a local or regular, you might as well fuggeabbouitt. It’s an old, shabby buliding and it’s a shame the folks that worked there weren’t a bit friendlier but what the hell, I ain’t going back son.
