Zaftigs Delicatessen is a contemporary jewish style Deli and sooo much more! Our award winning breakfast is served all day; Banana Stuffed French Toast anyone? How about Potato Pancakes topped with poached eggs, nova, spinach and hollandaise? Don’t forget the rustic Corned Beef Hash! Our Natick location has the luxury of a full bar, so enjoy a Bloody Mary or Mimosa with brunch. We have a great variety of beer and wine to match up with lunch and dinner. Have a glass of Chardonnay with one of our made to order fresh salads or a Sam Adams Lager on tap! with a Grilled Rueben or heaping Romanian Pastrami Sandwich on Rye. We are the spot for the casual mid-week dinner (ample seating!). Try one of our «to die for» Burgers or one of our homestyle dinners, Grandma’s Brisket, Fish & Chips and Roast Turkey dinner just to name a few. The kids menu here is great too: hot dogs, burgers, chicken, chocolate chip pancakes, french toast and more!

Zaftigs Delicatessen has two locations! Zaftigs in Coolidge Corner, Brookline has been a thriving hot spot since it opened in 1997 and we were thrilled to open our second location in Natick in February of 2011. We are about to celebrate our 4 year anniversary in Natick and love becoming a part of the neighborhood!

Really busy place, though. We made a reservation and it saved us a giant wait. The bacon, egg, and cheese was one of the best I have had and that is my go-to breakfast when checking out a new place.

Come here couple times a month with family. Love the Lenox omelet! No sun dried tomatoes though! They give a good portion of goat cheese too! Breakfast potatoes are great with cheese and scallions. We love it here.

It’s located in the Christmas Tree Shop strip mall across the street from the Natick Mall on Route 9. Weirdly, there are two restaurants in the shopping center that start with a «Z» –the other being a soup place.
Our visit to Zaftig left us quite impressed. Its pretty big with dozens of booths and scores of tables in a huge dining room. The walls have all sorts of cool decorations– lots of NYC street scenes and celebrity paintings. Where else can you see a painting of Amy Winehouse and Albert Einstein on the same wall? They even have a bar if you want a beer with your Reuben sandwich.
It’s NYC-Jewish style deli all the way here, their website says they serve «traditional Jewish-Style offerings of corned beef, pastrami, potato pancakes and chicken soup in addition to over 200 creative and diverse menu items prepared in a scratch kitchen». That’s pretty impressive.
We went old school for breakfast today, bagels and lox with coffee and 2 scrambled eggs. It ran about $ 32 and half of that was for two «full» size side orders of excellent smoked salmon. It was very good quality and the portion size was plenty for the pretty big bagel they served.
The meal was great. our server was super pleasant, and the dining room was fun to look at wth cool stuff all over the place to grab your attention.
Zaftig also has a big bakery and take out counters to load up your car for the ride home. We grabbed a few chocolate rugelach to have later tonight.

Very disappointing tonight. The service was slow and not very friendly. I ordered the chicken soup which was not hot and the whitefish salad sandwich was not on fresh rye bread (not on real deli rye either but out of a cellophane package for sure) no lettuce and tomato on the sandwich and I asked for Cole slaw and got potato salad. The pickles are good though. Will I come back? Yeah… Everyone has a bad night. At least the hostess was kind enough to comp the meal. I wrote this in the hope they will try harder next time, because I can’t get good Jewish deli food in Oregon and I’m here on business a lot.

Two words: belly lox. Caroline loves belly lox. Zaftigs has belly lox. Not everybody does so that tells me we will be back pretty frequently.
We’ve been here twice in the last couple of weeks and I ate breakfast the first time and lunch the second. The omelette was actually very good, and I’m not a giant breakfast guy. I thought the home fries were a little bland but Caroline gave them the seal of approval.
Second time around I went with a Rachel. The sandwiches were huge and overall pretty good, but the potato salad on the side was excellent.
They tend to be very busy but they staff for it and things move quickly. Staff is friendly, responsive and accommodating. Overall a very good breakfast/lunch experience.

I had no idea there was a Zaftigs in Natick. I came here New Years weekend with a friend, around 12:30pm on a Sunday, a 20 minute wait was quoted, but we were seated in about 10 minutes. We got a nice comfy booth. From the outside it looks small, but it is a good size in there.
Our server was nice, she didnt really come around too often, offered to refill our drinks only after we were done eating.
The food was outstanding, as usual. I got the grilled pastrami and swiss sandwich with a side of potato salad, and my friend and I split an order of potato pancakes. The sandwich was good, although the bread was soggy from too much mustard.
Food came out quickly and prices are fair. I’ll be back when I am in the area.

I have been here a few times and like it. Call ahead if you’re going on a weekend. They have excellent homemade hash. Their home fries are superb. The challah french toast is delightful.
Waitstaff is quick! If you’re going for breakfast in the Natick area give this place a try-you won’t be disappointed.

Less than average… Been here a few times to get takeout and not impressed. The last (and most likely THE LAST) time I visited I ordered a corned beef sandwich and it was tiny. Overwhelmed with bread I was very disappointed, especially for the 13 dollar price. Truly sad. Probably ¼ pound of meat at best and one of the saddest CB sandwiches I’ve ever seen. Aside from that they didn’t give me the Russian dressing OR the mustard I ordered on the side. Better off going to KUGELS down the street or Barry’s in Newton.

Had lunch here — started with the loaded latkes with sour cream, scallions, bacon, and tomato. Delicious! Perfectly fried outside with moist inside. Also tried the pickled platter– the tomatoes were tremendous and the pickles are perfect. Also did a Greek salad with steak tips– the steak was more medium than medium rare but that’s expected so I won’t knock them for that. Last was the pastrami sandwich and that was delicious– just make sure to tell them you want it hot if you do. Excited to go back!

Food is SO GOOD. I always get the Rachel which is a Turkey Ruben. Its literally insanely good. We ate breakfast here once only its SO EXPENSIVE. So we stick to lunch. We treat this spot as a treat.

Food was ok, service and people were terrible. Normally that’d boil down to a 3, but 2. Trust me on this.
We came here with a bit of family who was only in town for a little of time, and had told we couldn’t reserve a table ahead of time. This turned out to be false, so I suspect the person I talked to just didn’t want to deal with me. You can reserve a table if you call the night before. So, thinking we couldn’t reserve a table, we got there early. We asked what the wait time was, they said 15 minutes, and so we figured we’d stay.
15 minutes, yeah, no. After 30 we asked the wait time, and just got a look back from them of «why are you talking to me?» I’m talking to you, because you’re the HOST. Your job is to be pleasant and deal with annoying people. Hell, you should be dealing with the non-annoying people too. It’s. Your. Job.
Eventually (45 minutes later) we sat down, ate, the food was solid, and we blew that popsicle stand. Not coming back with how they treat their customers.

If you’re in the mood for dry carbs, this is the place to come! Latke, home fries, biscuit and stuffing all suffer from being fried and /or fatty but strangely dry, as if refrigerated bad prepped the day before and then reheated. Too bad– the food at the Brookline location in my memory, is better and worth the sullen service.

Update 9−13−14 just tried their bacon and cheese w/challah with fries it’s really good, a little disappointed that the cheese wasn’t fully melted but I am still happy with my food I am a Zaftigs a fan!!! also had their rugelach and it’s also very good!
The challah French toast tastes really good, ordered it twice now, I want to try their other stuff too !!

This place NEVER lets me down. They have the best salads in town. Large, fresh, and fast! The nicoise and Cobb are my favorites. Their lemon vinaigrette is really tasty! The bagel chips and cream cheese are of course always yummy! Also pickles of course! I will also say I have had their fries which are top notch! We also tried a side of egg salad and it was really good and fresh with only a Tiny bit of mayo.
INSIDER TIP: If it’s busy and you don’t feel like waiting, there are two hightops near the windows in the front and they are almost always available. We had great service and got right in by sitting there. Hostess was super nice helping recommend the seats and the server was the perfect mix of chill and attentive. LOVE THIS PLACE!

I always sit at the bar here. Their bloody Mary’s are good. I mean really good.
We ordered a Reuben to share and some knishes. Both were super yummy.
Got there early. The line is really long when we left. All I can say is go there. Try their food. Get a bloody. Relax.
