I have to say, without exaggeration, that seeing Dr. Sunners has changed my life. I hadn’t gone to a dentist in about 35 years because of my severe phobia so my teeth were obviously in bad condition. My wife finally convinced me to see her dentist, Dr. Sunners. When I first got there my anxiety was through the roof. My first appointment was just for a consultation. After just a few minutes I was almost completely at ease because of the demeanor of Dr. Sunners and his staff. Dr. Sunners has a good sense of humor and is very compassionate. He told me what needed to be done was completely sympathetic with my phobia.
During my next appointment he stopped to tell me exactly what he was going to do during the procedure. There was no pain at all that I remember as a kid. Admittedly, my wife came with me for the first few visits to help ease my anxiety but now I can go alone although I can’t completely shake my phobia. I’ve had extensive work done and felt almost no physical discomfort. My teeth look a hundred times better and I can smile with confidence.
I would highly recommend Dr. Sunners to everyone, especially those with a fear of dentists. He definitely knows what he is doing and he’s a great guy overall. The people who work with him are just as great. I wish I had seen him years ago.

What a wonderful Dentist Dr Sunners is. I didn’t take care of my teeth when I was younger (kids take note!) and have over time had my teeth progressively get worse. I had sharp pains every once and awhile and ignored them. This past week I reached my breaking point. I had called Dr Sunners at 9am that morning and he squeezed me in at 2pm that day. Even though it was short notice, I didn’t feel as if I was a bother to be there. After very quick xrays (very quck) he showed me the cause of my problem. With the type of work that needed done he referred me to a specialist which I appreciated showing he didn’t to do attempt something he wasn’t comfortable with just to make a quick buck.
After I went to the specialist, Dr Sunners followed up the next few days to first see how the appt with the specialist went (which was amazing. Great referral partners) and then to inquire about my pain or lack there of. Who does that?!
I will definitely be back for my routine work and xrays and what not. As I begin the long road to «recovery» if you will, I am glad to have Dr Sunners, his personable staff, and his fellow referral partners on my team!

I am receiving orthodontic treatment from Dr. Sunners using Invisalign. It has been a great experience. Dr. Sunners and his staff are a wonderful group of professional and friendly people. Dr. Sunners always takes the time to explain in full detail my treatment and answers my many questions. He always makes me feel calm and reassured and takes his time to the job correctly. He is very punctual and I have never had to wait for more than 5 minutes before being seen. I highly recommend his services.

I’ve never had better dental care than with Dr. Sunners. He’s not just a good dentist; he explains everything that’s going on in your mouth and every step of the procedure. Thanks to state-​of-​the-​art equipment, he can show you the affected tooth on a computer screen at the chair. If there are alternatives, each will be explained.
Dr. Sunners is meticulous and a perfectionist in choosing materials and sculpting the restoration to fit. I’ve had procedures where he spent over half an hour to make sure the crown fit perfectly and the bite was just right. And his conversation is funny and always upbeat.
For those of you who are worried about pain, you can relax. Anesthesia is administered expertly, and if a procedure goes on for a while, Dr. Sunners will make sure it isn’t wearing off prematurely.
The entire staff is equally caring, friendly and adept, including the hygienist, dental assistant and front office staff. If there is a cancellation, they will call you to try to get you in earlier, and they try as hard as they can to accommodate unplanned problems. This is truly a dental practice «where everyone knows your name.»

You know the neighborhood medical and dental practices they show in movies, where everyone smiles, the appointments are pretty much on time to the minute, and the docs really seem to care about their patients? Well, that’s what this practice is like, seriously. It’s so surprising to receive excellent care and service in this day and age that it’s worth a bonafide shout out.
Let’s start up front: they know what’s going on. When you were last there. What you had done in your prior visit and what you need to be scheduled for next time. And they’re very friendly and accommodating.
Dina, the hygienist, is sensational — very thorough, very professional, and extremely, um, motivating. If anyone can get a recalcitrant patient to do a better job on his teeth at home, it’s Dina.
Dr. Sunners is a great dentist and an even better guy, full of hilarious and wonderful stories about jazz, baseball and Brooklyn. It’s kind of incredible what this man knows, from the hysterically trivial to the genuinely fascinating, and because he has a captive audience, he is sure to share. As a practitioner, he is the best clinical skills I can recall in all of my years of doctor-​going. Very gentle, thorough with explanations of the what and why, and really skilled in general dentistry. His staff is equally adept and caring.
Cannot — CANNOT — recommend this practice highly enough. I drive there from Acton, about 22 miles, and it’s so worth it.

I have to preface this by saying that I hate the dentist, and I am the worse dental patient. I have no tolerance for pain and I have sensitive teeth. That being said, Dr. Sunners makes the best of my least favorite thing in the world. He is professional, personable, and makes sure that I am as comfortable as possible.
I’ve been a patient of Dr. Sunners for over 15 years now, and I currently drive an hour just to continue to be his patient. My father wishes he could still be his patient, but is unable to after my parents moved out of state (10 years ago). Still every time I go in Dr. Sunners asks me how my family is and makes sure that I tell them hello for him.
I do have to say that I’m not the biggest fan of my current hygenist there, but I love everyone else who works there and I feel like I’m definitely getting the best dental care there is.

Dr. Sunners and his staff are friendly and helpful! Although a little pricey, the state of the art dentistry technology, the take home care package after you get a cleaning, and his willingness to answer all of your questions and take as long as you need to understand procedures are well worth the investment. You only have one set of real teeth so it’s important to take care of them. I highly recommend using Dr. Sunners as your dentist.
