IVG Metrowest

Bringing my Reggie to IVG was a great experience, all things considered. He’s not the easiest to handle. He did very well and didn’t make a scene ;) proud mama! They have a great waiting room with couches and a tv. It helped me relax a lot. Staff was very helpful and answered any questions I had.

Thank you IVG Metrowest! Our dog, Pearl tore her ACL and our Vet recommended IVG for her surgery. We met with Dr. Amato and she explained the different options involving surgery for Pearl. She was incredibly patient and very concerned about Pearl’s well-​being! The surgery went smoothly and now Pearl is back to chasing her soccer balls! Dr. Amato was professional and extremely sensitive to Pearl’s needs. She called to check on Pearl’s progress in the following weeks. The Vet Tech, Alexa Cohen took wonderful care of Pearl during her 24 hour stay. We feel very grateful that Pearl had the best treatment at IVG! Many thanks!

Our regular vet recommended IVG and I’m glad we went. I’m aware that 24-​emergency vet care can be a nightmare for some people, but we had a great experience at IVG with our dog who injured her eye. They were very caring, thorough, and friendly to both us and our pet. There were also some other much more difficult, life-​threatening medical situations happening around us with other patients, and they seemed to handle them with competence and compassion. They gave us clear post-​visit instructions and sent a full report of our dog’s visit to our vet. Highly recommended.

So, you need to know IVG Vets and Specialist all work on commission. They get paid by doing test and procedures that bring in money. They do ‘whatever’ and are trained to move on. I question the ethic of any medical person working on commission. If that is not bad enough there is no medical oversight. The Director holds a law degree and worked in a hospital for the mentally ill, we understand by the staff that a client got upset at the death of his animal while under their care and in their hospital and the response of IVG was to call the Police and Ambulance and send the client to a hospital for observation because he dare to question them. Even the staff expressed their concern over doing that to a client. Nasty and vindictive.
I have meet some personality challenged Vets in my day but on some level they usually care about the animals. This Vet clearly did not. The first appointment was ok. Until I realized that the diagnosis and explanation was wrong. I realized this by the contradicting written information. I presented it to a few other Clinics and they were shocked. They were open about their impressions and gave me some better advice. The problem was timing the other Clinics were booked and waiting was not an option. It only got worse as I was suckered in to more and more all based on a wrong diagnosis.
They were not forthcoming, gave wrong answers, charged for test my Vet did, and would not provide records so that we could quickly obtain second opinion. When we did get the records or the Second provider received them they were far from complete. When we got some records they read like a gossip column. The priority was not care.
I read where a young puppy was injured after surgery from two infections likely due to surgery. Well we have a couple of Vets review the limited information IVG would give us in writing and one Specialist believes that infection cause the decline of our pet. Another believes the diagnosis was wrong. Furthermore, doubted the test results were accurate, possibly mixed up, or wrongly read given the situation.
Some Vet are young and put on a nice smile… young and native. But, we meet a couple with nothing to offer, mean, and angry. The Techs are treated like Vets because they don’t have enough Vets on Service. At times it seemed like there was even a Vet in the Clinic. One Receptionist got really nasty and defensive when we asked who the Vet was on duty, it lead to the question is there a Vet in house, she did the bully thing and said we have someone available if needed. Ah yes the Bully thing. if they are in error be prepared for hours of conversation to have billing or meds corrected, if you try by phone they will often say ok ok ok and do nothing. O and phone your talking to an hourly employee with no experience in a Central Call Center who’s job it is to get business and act like a Used Car Sales Person …
It’s all about procedures and test and upping the invoice while the animal and human are put through false hope, wrong diagnosis and worse. Overall poor communication skills, refusal to tell the whole truth to allow for a good decision, just a lot of leading on. Or just very poor poor vets.

They provide wonderful care for pets in Emergancy situations. They keep in great contact with any changes in your pets condition.

Great place for specialized and emergency animal care. We were referred to IVG by our vet as he was concerned with a possible eye issue with our rescued dog.
He referred us to Dr. Welihozkiy who is board certified in animal Ophthalmology. Never knew there was such a thing, but we were so glad. After an appointment in their very nice Natick location, we found out our dog’s eye condition is benign and is nothing to worry about.
I’ve heard from other dog owners I know that have had laparoscopic procedures done there and that most of the area veterinarians refer their patients needed specific care to IVG.

We found ourselves at IVG after our little 9 yr old yorkie terrier dog wouldn’t stop throwing up and our vet said his liver/​kidneys were failing. We hospitalized him for 2 days and he was on a 4 week course of antibiotics. I cannot say enough about IVG. The vets there care so much for the animals and the facility is top notch. They understand your relationship with a pet, and also understand your financial concerns. Our dog primarily saw Dr. Coooper who was beyond phenomenal. But he also saw other doctors and nurses and they were all spectacular. It is a 24/​hour, 7 day/​week facility too which is great to know. They are tucked away behind Dicks’ Sporting goods shopping center so unless you get a referral or know of them, it is a hidden secret. Our dog is doing much better and I have no doubt a big reason is because of the care he received. Every call is answered promptly and they treat these animals as good (if not better) than many hospitals treat human beings. I cannot say enough.
