Perfect setting in the gulch… service was top notch and the food was out of this world!
Highly recommend the pan seared halibut which was cooked to perfection. Portion size was right in, not too big not too small.

We visited Watermark after a terrible experience with yet another M street group restaurant (Virago). I have to say, our visit there was one of the best dining and hospitality experiences I’ve ever had. Every time we go now we are amazed by the spectacular staff and service, not to mention incredibly tasty dishes and drinks. It is up there in price, but you’re definitely paying for what you get here, whereas other relative locations in the area can’t match their level of service. An incredible experience you won’t regret. Don’t forget to request a table on the outdoor patio overlooking the gulch!

Have been a fan for many years, service is always excellent, food is great, ambiance on patio is always nice when weather cooperates. Great views, although now has become a little noisey since Gulch has grown. Drinks are always top notch and wine choices excellent as well. Can be a little pricey but good for the quality. Only downfall is valet service, sometimes very slow, but always a bit slow since the Gulch area has grown so much.

Just had dinner last night. It was amazing and the service was perfect. The crème brûlée was outstanding.

We went on a Monday at 8 and it was quiet. Tables are too close together in my opinion but nobody sat next to us so was not an issue. We started with the beef carpaccio. It was delicate and tasty. The mini biscuits, focaccia and butter were good, especially the focaccia.
FYI the oysters are priced for half dozen. Neither the menu nor the waiter hipped us to that and they were slightly warm to boot.
The pork chop with roasted root vegetables, kale and brandied apples was juicy and tender but nothing too special. And it was supposed to come with caramelized onions that weren’t there or undetectable.
The pricey ribeye was quite delicious, with a good char and cooked a perfect medium rare. Have I had a better piece of meat? Yes. But the sum was better than the parts. The bone marrow (you get a 2 – 3 inch bone. It’s not a little glob on top), sauce and potatoes made for the perfect combination.
Fair warning. It’ll add up (partially the oysters fault in this case). We didn’t get desserts or salads and our tab was higher than a big meal (two salads, one filet, one ribeye, dessert, etc) at Commander’s Palace in New Orleans and the food, ambiance and service at Commander’s was far superior.

Great spot with roof top dining. Service top notch, and food was terrific. Wine list could be improved some but we muddled through successfully. If I lived in town I’d become a regular for sure

Traveling for work and this place hit the spot! Tuna tartare was delish! Chicken and waffles was also very tasty although I’d prefer white meat. the perfect weather on the patio made it a great date night for one

Demarco was our waiter, he was ON POINT! Great patio atmosphere/​ambiance. Food was amazing! We got a bunch of appetizers and split them — lobster bisque, avocado burrata salad, and tuna tartar, all to die for!
Go here, a little pricy but you will not be disappointed!

Thank you so much for a wonderful anniversary dinner for me and the wife! My 5 star is based on the fast and friendly service, the excellent view of the Gulch and the food. I highly recommend the banana upside down cake for dessert!

I had high expectations but was disappointed. As a visitor to Nashville, I eat very well but not last night. The bread was awesome-​combination of focaccia and mini biscuits. I had the Blue Point oysters and they were … Just ok. I don’t know how to explain this but it was nothing to talk about. I shared with another oyster lover and he said the same thing. The Chilean seabass was so not worth it, even if it was flown in that day. It was half the normal portion and pricey to boot. It also came in a saffron soup (way too over powering) with mussels-​the menu didn’t even say there were mussels included! The waiter was a very intimate talker which creeped me out. Overall, atmosphere is high end, people friendly but very overpriced, small portions and just ok tasting. Go elsewhere.

Nice restaurant with a good atmosphere. Accommodating for our large group. Everyone loved the biscuits and focaccia to start. Sure wish I could have shared in those! Being gluten free, I was appreciative of the servers knowledge of which food choices would be appropriate. Friends at the table who ordered the oysters were not impressed. All agreed that presentation was on point. The portions were all quite small for the price. The sea bass was very good, but the rest of the dish was lacking. My husband thought the short ribs were a little bland, and his asparagus was terrible. The lobster risotto that we shared was very good, but there was only one actual piece of lobster in the entire dish. We were charged for an additional bourbon cocktail & the check had to be corrected. Overall way too expensive for what we did have.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Nashville. The service is always amazing and the food is always fresh and perfectly cooked. The patio is perfect for an early dinner in spring or summer, while the dinning room is prefect lite for a later dinner. They have a great little bar down in the lobby if you get their early for your reservation and want to have a beer or drink. I have been here multiple times and have not been disappointed yet.

We had the Nashville Hot Chicken & Waffles to start! Absolutely amazing! Best hot chicken and waffles we’ve ever had! It’d be worth a trip back to Watermark just to enjoy them again! I had the Seared Tuna Étouffée and I was not disappointed! Perfectly seared rare tuna on a bed of rice! Perfection imo! My dinner date had the Lobster Bouillabaisse. Both entrees were excellent! We will definitely experience this place again!

The food and service were OK, BUT the Parking Valet stole my Prada Sunglasses and case out of the center console of my car. I saw them just before I arrived but they were gone, I noticed, a few hours after leaving the restaurant.
I called Watermark the next business day and was told by who ever answered the phone they would check with the Independent Valet Company and get back to me. 3 weeks later no calls from anyone, not the Valet company or the restaurant. Would I eat their food again, Probably. Do I recommend their service, yes, is the restaurants blandly decorated, Yes.
IF I were going there again I’d use Über. Obviously there is a thief among us and the restaurant doesn’t seem to care!!!

My friends and I came here as part of Spring Rewards deal. We split a couple of appetizers and enjoyed some adult beverages. The bar area at Watermark is really quaint, and I would make it a point to arrive to my reservation early just to enjoy a cocktail in this tastefully decorated room. I did get an opportunity to see the upstairs restaurant and patio, and I can see why this is one of the best restaurants in Nashville.
The next time I return to Nashville, I hope to have my wife in tow so we can enjoy a terrific meal here!

I don’t typically give five stars but I was close on this one. My sales division for my company came here while in town for a conference and secured the entire upstairs. Very hip and fun décor in the restaurant, and a great welcoming vibe.
We had a preset dinner. So you’re probably thinking: why write a review for a preset meal? Man it was good. The grit soufflé (being a Yankee I’m not 100% sure what it was) was phenomenal. While I may not know what is in a grit soufflé, I do know it came with delicious sauce and unreal bacon accompaniment.
The main I selected was the pork tenderloin. Lean and delicious, perfectly cooked with a great reduction.
The chocolate cake to finish was petite and perfect, rich but not too much so.
Our colleagues went to sambuca next door and had a nice meal with fish but Watermark hit the mark for me. If we get to Nashville on personal time, will be back!

We were at Watermark for father’s day with our family, having not been there for several years. I remember it was excellent when we last visited and it still is. It is quite unusual for a restaurant to stay alive and vibrant for so many years. I suspect the location in the gulch and the very cool patio overlooking the street has helped the restaurant’s staying power.
For appetizers, we had the grits soufflé, crab cakes and the hot chicken and waffles. All were very good. The hot chicken and waffles was particularly inventive. Main courses included the hickory grilled filet, lobster bouillabaisse, roasted sea scallops and grilled lobster tail special. All were very good, and artistically served. Dessert included grand marnier crème brûlée, peanut brittle and toffee tort and strawberry tart with ice cream. Desserts were good, but not really worth the price and not up to the quality of the first courses. The wine list is small, but offers a reasonable selection.
Service was very friendly and everything was served together, which was quite an accomplishment. The only possible downside is the price. While we ordered two bottles of wine for during our meal, taking part of the second bottle home, over $ 400 before tip was more than I expected.
Overall it was an outstanding experience and well worth recommending if you don’t mind the price.

May 1^st Watermark hit a home run. The patio was beautiful and the weather was perfect.

Beef Carpaccio with goat cheese was great. I missed capers but still great
Crispy Pork belly was out of this World,
Scallop dish was spot on and the portion was actually too much for Kristy, don’t say that much!
Black Cod was amazing and the Meyer lemon risotto was perfect.
Crème brûlée and chocolate lava were very good and on the house for Kristy’s BDay
We walked away feeling we got what we paid for, creative and delicious food, great service and great atmosphere

Made a reservation for my husbands 30^th birthday. We walked to Watermark from our hotel in the Gulch and were seated when we arrived. Our waiter said happy birthday to my husband which was a nice gesture and good customer service.
Our waiter was knowledgable about the menu and suggested his favorite items. He was friendly and attentive. The wait staff seemed as if they really enjoyed their job. Everyone was in a good mood. Around the table we ordered a few cocktails, the duck entrée, salmon, goat cheese stuffed chicken and filet. Sides were crab Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, Au Gratin, and asparagus. You could say my in-​laws are picky eaters and they really enjoyed the food! The entire dinner was perfect.
