Specialties
We offer assistance throughout the year by way of food boxes, utility and rental/mortgage assistance, Life Skills Learning classes which include GED classes, budgeting classes, resume assistance, Transitional Housing for families, single women and single men, Child Care facility, Feeding programs (Breakfast Brigade and Soup Wagon where 300 homeless individuals are fed per week), disaster services and Christmas assistance and the operation of our after school and summer camps for youth.
History
Established in 1890.
The Salvation Army was founded in London, England in 1865. The Army made its way to America in 1880 and in 1890 began in Nashville focusing on problems specific to this area.
