History
Established in 1993.
It started with an ambitious and, at the time unheard-of, plan in 1993: to make cancer clinical trials accessible to the community without the support of an academic institution. Our dedicated team established the first Phase 1 program in the community setting in 1997, one of the largest programs of its kind in the world, and as the program grew, Sarah Cannon Research Institute (SCRI) was formed in 2004. The commitment of our physicians, researchers and clinicians have resulted in more than 1,600 clinical trials, including more than 170 first-in-human Phase I trials and SCRI has been a clinical trial leader in more than 75 percent of approved cancer therapies in the last three years.
