S & S Property Management

Honest review from a tenant of four years.
I was a tenant at the Studio I & II property on 8^th Avenue South managed by S&S Property. I was renting a small studio apartment to save money while working during the day and finishing graduate school in the evening. The apartment was small, at only 450 square feet, which is sufficient for one person. The rent was very affordable for the area and my budget, at only $ 470 monthly plus utilities. Sounds great, right? Remember the saying «you get what you pay for?» That stands true to my story. I went nine days during winter with NO hot water. The lazy and incompetent maintenance guy kept saying the hot water heater is working. OK. Why is there no hot water in my unit? The tenants there are on welfare, food stamps, etc. and are too lazy to work. Therefore, they stay out on the SHARED balcony all night drinking, smoking pot, playing music and yelling, keeping the few that do work awake. Noise complaints mean absolutely nothing to the people at S&S Property Management. No leash requirement for tenants who own dogs, so you have dogs jumping on you and more than likely you will step in dog poop because they will not pick up after their pet. The pool area is never maintained the way it should be. The washer/​dryer room is disgusting. There are only two washers/​dryers and the cost is $ 1.75 each. There leaks, very dirty, and no door to the laundry room (even in the cold winter and pouring rain). There are even possums that sleep in there. Terrible communication all the way around, especially from the Asian douche bag, David (the actual «property manager»). He doesn’t know whether to scratch his watch or wind his butt when confronted with a problem. The former PM, Tabitha, was ok but terrible at following up about issues. If you try to speak to someone higher, Tammy, she will not return your call no matter how many times you attempt to reach her. I would heavily recommend to anyone who wants to stay away from trouble, stress, and inconvenience to stay away from S&S Property «Management.» They do not have the slightest clue as to what they are doing. I will post pictures of the disgusting property shortly. Thankfully I am living at a great community managed by a professional and hard working staff that treat their clients with respect and dignity. Remember, you get what you pay for.
