This continues to be one of my favorite Thai locations in Nashville. Often overlooked because of its tucked away location in the strip of businesses adjacent to J. Alexander’s. The service is always impeccable. The food is perfectly prepared with fresh crunchy veggies and perfect heat. Had the Green Curry yesterday. Delicious. Thanks for a great lunch!!!

Never been unhappy with a meal here. My favorite is the Hung Ray curry mainly because they add a pop of julienned ginger on the top and it adds such a freshness and zing to the dish. Details like this are what sets this little hidden gem apart from the rest. The fried spring rolls and daily soup you get with a lunch entrée are always fresh and delicious.

After Basil in Cool Springs changed ownership, i couldn’t find any place to satisfy my real Thai food until I find this place. I tried seafood salad where they have octopus with onion and lime juice, also hang ray curry. Hand down the best meal I have had in a long time. The curry is the most creamy, the sweet and the saltiness are balanced well. Interesting sitting, dark i side and quite with soothing music. Great place for a newly date.

Located in the same shopping center as Barre 3 and J. Alexander’s, I can easily imagine Golden Thai being overlooked. I stopped by for dinner on a random weekday night and found it rather empty at 630pm. We ordered the Hung Ray Curry(mainly because it wasn’t listed as just a red or green curry and we had never heard of it before) and also a basil, beef noodle dish. Both dishes were good, but not particularly memorable. We enjoyed the fact that the they truly delivered on the spice level we asked for. No joke. I do think I will need to come back to try other dishes people have raved about such as the green curry and the chicken larb wraps. Regardless, I am happy to have access to a Thai place without a 30 minute plus wait! If you can, come during lunch. Its at least a $ 3 savings for the same amount of food!

Best Thai on west side which means there are a few others that are getting a lower rank. Dinner is always more intense heat wise than lunch. Lunch special is still a great deal. Service is very good. Son likes the pillow set up but anything different than chairs and a table is fun. We do take out for weekends and dine in during week. Be careful of making it native.

One of my favorites in Nashville. Had the Curry duck again. It is so good I have trouble ordering anything else.

This Thai restaurant has the creamiest curry in town. I love the atmosphere and unique table seating. You have to swing your legs over to get in the floor-like seats. The food is always great. However, I’ve had a few mix ups with my orders and that’s why I gave this place 4 stars instead of 5. Driving 20 minutes home to discover chicken in my meal instead of tofu always sucks. Especially when it’s happened more than once. But they are good about replacing the order. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves Thai food.

Golden thai has the best lunch special in town. For $ 7.60 you can get a large portion of good chicken pad thai, a spring roll, and a(not so great) soup. I have had a couple of other dishes but I keep going back to their chicken pad Thai. I order take out almost every Friday from Golden and I will continue to do so. It’s food is number 2 to Smiling Elephant but with cost considered, I go to Golden. Go here for lunch and go to Smiling Elephant for dinner.

Favorite Thai take-out spot in Nashville when I used to call it home. It’s in the same shopping center as the J. alexander’s(the reason I found it in the first place). I’ve dined in a few times as well, but there’s something about take out here… It always seemed hotter(spicier) when I brought it home. The Tom yum soup is classic and consistently good, as is the red curry and seafood combination. Those are my go to, but the Tiger tears and nam sod are also impressive. Ah, now I miss this place…

Their lunch deal is pretty amazing — most entrees with chicken or beef are $ 6.95 and come with an egg roll and really tasty soup. I’m on a quest to find the best pad Thai in Nashville and theirs currently ranks #2. And really, really great Thai iced tea. If it’s summer and you’re a tea drinker, you have to get some.

I’ve enjoyed watching the progression of Golden Thai over the past several years. Tucked away in the corner of a shopping center, it doesn’t draw much attention, and has 3 other restaurants in the same plaza. Several years ago, you could go for lunch and be the only person there. Today, they draw a steady lunch crowd. I’m sure that the generally favorable reviews on Unilocal have contributed to the improved business. I’d place Golden Thai as my second favorite Thai spot in Nashville. Their spicy basil dishes are my favorite. They’ll make it to your preferred level of spice, and you can customize your order with meats of your choice. You’ll receive a complimentary bowl of soup and egg roll, all for about $ 8. Not a bad deal for lunch. They also offer a nice variety of curries and other Thai classics. If you are looking to mix up your lunch routine, you will not be disappointed with Golden Thai.

This restaurant comes second to my beloved Siam Cuisine(also on White Bridge Rd). I come here whenever I have exhausted Siam Cuisine(I frequented this restaurant like 2−3x a week when I used to live in Nashville) or when I was craving a different spin on the Basil Fried Rice. In my opinion, Golden Thai is good for their lunch specials and take out. They are more pricey than Siam. I am not really a fan of dining in at Golden Thai. The service wasn’t as welcoming and receptive as I have experienced as Siam. In comparing the two restaurants’ Pad Thai dishes, Siam Cusine got Golden Thai by a long shot. Golden Thai’s pad thai is good but a little too sweet in my opinion. Comparing the Basil Fried Rice dishes, I would say they are pretty much neck and neck. Both are flavorful, full of basil and filling!

I have worked in the building next to this shopping center for 3 years and have never been in to Golden Thai until today. So glad I finally did! I guess I’ve avoided it because it always looked kind of hokey because of the shopping center it is in– looks are deceiving! Cool tables and the yellow curry was the best I’ve ever had. Fried rice was very good too– little too much ginger for me, but I’m not really the ginger type. And yes, I had 2 entrees. Treat yo self. Service was also great! Fast and very nice!

Super disappointed! Bland food and slow service. We tried the basil noodles and pineapple fried rice. The fried rice came in a hollowed out pineapple that looked cool but had no taste and there wasn’t much pineapple in the actual dish! Service was slow and honestly I thought the restaurant was too dark. I like dim lighting, but not so dim I feel like I’m having trouble seeing. Also, it is way pricey. We paid $ 32 before tip for two entrees. Won’t be going back.

I love Thai food and this restaurant is definitely the best so far. The place is really nice and cozy. The service is excellent and the food delicious. I went to this place with my coworkers and we had such a great time. I am planning to go back with my hubby. The food is really good.

Great Thai food — and with off the menu items too. Moving from NYC to Nashville it was always going to be a challenge to find great Thai food — we tried the usual suspects, Smiling Elephant etc without truly enjoying them and came across Golden Thai purely by chance when shopping at Target on White Bridge Road. Our server, Oh, was delightful, recommending some great dishes. My wife and I both like hot spicy food and we were concerned at just how hot this would be. Oh explained there is a spice scale of 1 – 5(1 being mild, 5 being insanely hot/toilet rolls in the freezer) I opted for a 3, my wife for 2 and we both enjoyed the heat. However, I may have been a tad too brave as by the end of the meal I had broken a sweat which is typically a good indicator that I’m enjoying it! We have been back many times now and always had good food. My personal favourite is the Hung Ray with chicken and the Massamun curry is great(this is my go to dish for providing a baseline of the quality of the restaurant). The pad thai is also very good(according to my wife). My only reservation was on the sesame sweet and sour chicken which, although very lightly fried had little flavour in the sweet and sour sauce. I have to also recommend the ginger ice cream — ginger and ice cream together, does it get any better? This place has been so good that we have yet to try Ginger Thai which we’ve been recommended to check out.

Luxurious, rich and decadent hung ray curry with cashew nuts and fresh ginger sticks tossed on top. This curry is sweet, salty and tantalizing. It reminds me somewhat of a Panang curry, with slightly more ginger. Perfectly cooked fried tofu — lightly crisped outside, succulent soft middle. When you order the hung ray curry with tofu, ask for ”tofu and vegetables” instead of just the tofu, and you’ll receive delicious broccoli and cabbage as well. I always get 3 stars on the spice scale and ask for the spice tray. I love dousing my curry in a good smattering of fragrant, tiny red and green peppers and fish sauce. Aey was our server for years on an almost weekly basis and he never missed a beat. Whether we ordered a three course dinner with beverages or just a simple lunch special, Aey’s courteous, friendly demeanor set the tone for many wonderful dining experiences at Golden Thai. He would go the extra mile often, even ensuring that our takeout orders were ready before we arrived with an adequate amount of napkins and little to go containers of peppers and fish sauce. His friend Ao even wrote out our names for us in Thai! The lunch special here is hard to beat and comes with the soup of the day, a fried spring roll(with sweet plum sauce, delicious!), jasmine rice and more than enough hung ray curry! But is there *ever* enough hung ray curry? It has a nice, relaxing ambiance too. Usually there is cool art on the walls and interesting music playing — I think one day I heard them playing The Smiths! Definitely give Golden Thai a try and tell all your friends!

Golden Thai… you were perfect for my Valentine’s day celebration! Screw fancy restaurants on Feb 14th, give me Ethnic food! They close at 9:00 during the week, so we came in around 8:15. To start we had the Tom Kha Soup with vegetables and shrimp dumplings with black bean sauce. They both were delicious. The shrimp dumplings were cooked perfectly and the dipping sauce was fantastical. For entrees we stepped outside our normal order and had the pad see ew with beef and I had a new curry, I cannot remember the name but it was like red curry but with ginger. Mmmm. They both rocked. Only gripe; they switched up the heat levels on us so my BF had it 4⁄5 spicy, mine was 2⁄5 spicy. Oops. But we powered through and it was fine. They also offer a couple bottles of wine, so we had a lovely Kendall Jackson Cab to accompany our meal. This place is top notch for take out or dinning in!
