History

Established in 2004.

Founder, Cathy Werthan was inspired by past experience to create a culture that was warm, friendly and conducive to learning while still maintaining exceptional professionalism. Cathy also understood the stifling affect that the traditional CPA environment had on its staff members. Most traditional firms were designed to promote its founders rather than to focus on its team. The incubation of CPACG was never about one person – it was about the team that made our services possible. It was about creating a firm that stood for something larger than its individual members. Thus, the name CPA Consulting Group was selected to convey the team approach and that CPA’s do more than tax and compliance work. We strive to be a valuable member of our client’s financial advisory team and are dedicated to strong relationships built on mutual respect. This philosophy has nurtured many loyal clients, staff and peers.

As Founder and President of CPA Consulting Group, Cathy Werthan brings more than 25 years of experience in the accounting field to her role and offers a blend of industry experience, technical know-​how and innovation. In addition to traditional accounting, auditing, tax and consulting, Ms. Werthan has extensive experience in the area of employee benefits, and has expanded the scope of her firm’s services to include retirement plan design and administration. She has been a featured presenter at educational seminars covering a wide range of tax, accounting and employee benefit topics. Ms. Werthan has vast experience in Real Estate, Manufacturing, Restaurants and professional services as well as many others. She is the team leader at cpacg and enjoys the mentoring other team members as they map out their own areas of expertiese within the firm.
