It looks like the prices have gone up since the last review. Clean and friendly staff. $ 2.75 for top loading machine. There is a vending machine for detergent and dryer sheets for $ 1 per pack(most of them contain enough for two loads). Dryers are .25 for 5minutes. I was able to wash and dry 2 loads of laundry for $ 10. There is a sign above the dryers that says to put in 8 quarter at the beginning for best results(that’s 40minutes). I put 8 quarters in one dryer and 9 in another just to compare. Both my loads were full loads. The dryer where I used 9 quarters(45min) definitely was 100% dry. 8 quarters does get a load dry but my towels definitely needed the extra 5minutes. There is a vending machine with snacks and drinks and bathrooms available, which I did not use because I was neither hungry, thirsty nor had the need to use the restroom. People were not shady and felt comfortable.

Great place. I dropped off what would normally have been three loads of laundry at my apartment and had it washed and folded for me for only $ 32. Well worth it in my opinion.

Great! Big industrial washers save you time. If you’re really busy, you can use the fluff ‘n’ fold service(just over a buck a pound) and they do it for you.

I used Coin Laundry Express for the first time today. My water is out so my landlord paid for me to use their bundle service(or fluff & fold for us dorks). I dropped off two bags of laundry and for $ 36 I had them all washed and folded by 6pm. They charge $ 1.2 a pound for this service and it was well worth it. I’ve never seen my clothes folded so perfectly! They even put my nicer blouses and jackets on hangers. I also got a kick out of the autographed Keith Urban and Gary Allan 8X10s on the wall. Granted I was approached by two homeless men outside and the parking is horrible but I think I’d consider using this service on my own dime. It was so convenient!

At the laundromat I used before the Coin Laundry Express, I would sometimes open the dryer after half an hour to discover that my clothes had been tossing around in cold air, and still weren’t dry. Not to mention the grime on the floors — if I accidentally dropped a clean sock, I’d almost feel like it needed to be washed all over again. In contrast, Coin Laundry is a clean, reliable, and conveniently located. However the parking lot is small, so if you put your laundry off until the weekend like I do, you may have to lug your laundry basket a ways down the street. Fortunately, even in the middle of a Sunday afternoon when the parking lot is full, there always seem to be free washing machines and dryers. The triple load washer($ 4.50) is a pretty good deal if you have a lot of laundry, and a load and a half is usually done after 35 minutes in the dryer(6 minutes/quarter). There’s a coin machine that takes $ 1, $ 5, $ 10, and $ 20, and there’s always an attendant on duty. If you dare to leave the laundromat while you clothes are in the machine, you can walk across the street to Harris Teeter or MapCo and pick up a drink or some groceries.

Luckily for me, I no longer have to take my clothes to a laundromat. I am now a proud washing machine owner. However, I know from experience that this is one of the better laundromats in the city. Coin Laundry Express is very low-key and laid back, which makes it a nice spot to hang around while you’re waiting for your clothes to get clean. If you don’t feel like waiting, however, you can drop your clothes off and take them up on their bundle service. It doesn’t take a lot to be a good laundromat. The place needs to be relatively clean, have functional machines and not cost a fortune. Coin Laundry Express has all of those features, plus it’s located right on 21st just a bit north of the 440 exit. Pretty good spot to do laundry on the West Side if need be.
