Chef Penelope’s Catering

I had the opportunity to try food from this caterer at Unilocal’s Muse-​a-​palooza. It was fantastic! The food was among samples from plenty of well-​known Nashville restaurants and her food was one of the best. If you have an event that needs catering I would recommend that you give them a call!

They were one of the invited guests –at the Unilocal event and I must say — one of my favorites. A sweet potato combination puréed with pulled pork and seasoned to perfection. The small cup presentation was cute as well. Am remembering this caterer for any event!

I am so lucky to be able to work with Chef Penelope’s. As a wedding venue, it is crucial that we work with the best caterers in Nashville and recommend the best caterers. We have worked with Chef Penelope’s for several months now and we absolutely love them! They are always so professional and sweet! Not only is their food fantastic, but their staff is always so helpful and professional! We are so lucky to have the best caterer right around the corner from Travellers Rest Plantation.

Working in the event industry, I’ve worked with lots of caterers and the very first event I worked alongside Chef Penelope’s in January I was impressed. Since then I’ve worked 5 more events with them. Her staff has always been pleasant & gracious. They do things out of the scope of their job such as help move chairs/​tables if the night calls for it. They are prompt & efficient. You don’t have to go to the kitchen to check on things because they’re on it & have it under control. I smile when I know I’m working an event & they’re the caterer.

I just used Chef Penelope’s to cater my wedding, and it was absolutely fantastic. I can’t imagine finding a more perfect wedding caterer in Nashville.
Penelope’s operation is small and she and her staff are deeply dedicated to making sure that you get exactly what you want for your special event. Penelope worked personally with us, helping us to find an elegant meal that matched our budget, and was even willing to match competitor pricing, which was great.
As far as the quality of her food goes, words cannot explain the deliciousness she prepared for our wedding. My absolute favorite dishes were the BBQ and sweet potato grits (similar to shrimp and grits), the mac and cheese, and the green beans that are life-​changingly good.
I cannot recommend Chef Penelope more highly, nor can I thank her enough for making the food at my wedding such a spectacular hit.

Full disclosure — I worked for a catering service for seven years.
By the time I was in college, I had been involved in hundreds of weddings and had a pretty good feel for what I wanted my wedding to look like some day and an amazing work ethic instilled in me.
I recently attended a function that was catered by Penelope (of Pfunky Griddle Pfame), and I was completely floored. This event was at the Noah Liff Opera Center and was for some tough customers; a picky group with very specific religious dietary demands. And let me tell you, Chef Penelope did not bat an eyelash.
The presentation was simply amazing. Very modern, inventive, some of the best table displays I have ever seen. Asian noodles, a chocolate fondue bar, spicy tomato soup with grilled cheese, amazing desserts. And again, I can’t say enough about the presentation.
The only lament I have is that their staff bussing tables were maybe too aggressive, to the lament of my Old Pappy Van Winkle glasses that they kept taking away from me… three times…
