This place is amazing! That being said, I am giving it 1 star right now because it’s Sept 22nd(85 degrees) and I just found out that this place is CLOSEDFORTHEWINTER!!! WTF!!! My husband and I suffer through these God-forsaken Nashville heat-bath summers just to get to some NICE, COOLCAMPINGWEATHER!!! Yet these yahoos close up shop right at the brink of the possibility of awesome lower temps and lessened pain-in-the-ass biting Tennessee bugs(mosquitos, ticks)!!! Seriously??? I’m quite literally NOT a happy camper right now about the blokes that run this joint!!! LAAAAME!!!

It’s not the most naturally beautiful campground, but we had the perfect campsite and extremely friendly staff. Campsite 37(tent only) was nicely tucked away from the road and a bit more wooded. Also a nice distance from the bathroom — not too close, not too far. We stayed here as a cheaper alternative to a hotel while touring Nashville. This worked surprisingly well — less than 30 minutes from downtown! Overall it was super easy for our purposes. The beach area has a really nice view, though the swimming area is roped off. Very happy with our choice!

If you want a cheap beach day this is about as good as it gets in Nashville. The entry is $ 4 per car and you get access to a swimming beach with a little bit of soft brown sand. They also have a playground, picnic areas, and a restroom. It’s a good place for families but not South Beach by any means.
