Let the buyer beware! This store is one of the busiest in the chain and as such gets the meats and produce approaching expiration from the other stores to move quickly. Don’t believe me, go down the street to Northwest Blvd. and compare the above.

Went to at Market Basket at exit 8, looking for already made salads, wow this store is really pushing all their old salads out the date on them was today and tomorrow, how bad is that, bags of popcorn already popped took a big jump up in pricing. This store at exit 8 is so bad they need to hire all new upper management because selling their out of date stuff is bad and raising there prices on very small items, I liked it better when they were closed.

Mid 50s Lady with short hair who works at the café is an absolute racist and should not work there. MB is known for great staff unfortunately this one is not

The shelves look like they were stocked in a hurry. I’ve found old items behind new items more times than I can count. Items are just jammed where they fit sometimes even if it’s the wrong spot. 90% of the employees at this store act like they HATE their jobs and want you to leave. If it wasn’t less than a block from my home, I’d never come back because they make customers feel very unwelcome. It’s mostly the people who have«1st year» on their name tags and appear to be in high school age. They’re poorly trained at re-stocking and have no clue what customer service really is. 2 stars only because the fresh bread is great.

I really, really, REALLY want to get on the Market Basket Love Train, but I’m having trouble climbing aboard. After the whole Arthur T vs Arthur S mess was settled, there was a lot of love from the MB management, thanking their customers for standing by them throughout the ordeal. But, talk is cheap because when I shop there, I am just not feeling the love. Just me, but I’m thinking if the MB management team really were appreciative of all who stood by Market Basket during the much publicized Family Feud, they’d want to make shopping there as pleasant as possible. A good place to start would be to clear the aisles of all the stock during the main shopping hours. The aisles in this new Super MB seem to be as narrow as the old MB that was at the Turnpike Plaza, now home of Whole Foods. Seriously, the Chelmsford town traffic circle is easier to negotiate than pushing a cart down just one aisle at Market Basket. Between other shoppers and the stacked boxes of goods awaiting unpacking and shelving, I spend as much time waiting to move around these obstacles as I do actually putting goods in my cart. And when the shelves are being stocked, none of the employees stocking the shelves or produce section or meat department move. Yet another obstacle. So, what’s up with that? Another big bonus for MB customers would be if the management would spend a little time training their younger employees on bagging. I asked one young bagger if it would be possible to distribute the heavy items for me. He was really sweet, smiled and said, «No problem.» So, I got 5 lbs. of flour, 4 lbs. of sugar and one 64 oz. bottle of juice in one bag and 5 lbs. of potatoes, one 64 oz. bottle of juice and a half gallon of milk in another bag. The third and fourth bags had all the light-weight items in them. Okay, so technically speaking, the weight was distributed but really? Next trip into MB, I tried one more time with extra reusable bags and the weight distribution request. It was pretty much the same thing. So, I get that weight is kind of subjective – a 16 year old probably thinks 10+ lb. bags is not big deal. But, as a more«mature»(read: older) person I’m thinking I’d rather go to the gym and do my weight lifting there than at the grocery store. I have been to other grocery stores and when there are a lot of heavier items moving down the belt, I’ve actually been asked if I want the bags packed light, medium or heavy. Wow! Now that’s good customer service! And lastly, please get rid of that Market Basket card that is required to cash a check. I’m not even a techno-freak, but come on, that train left the station in the 90s. I’ll still hit MB but not unless I have a lot of time to grocery shop(as if that’s what I like to with my spare time), I’ve done some deep breathing exercises to keep me calm, and I remember to bring lots and lots of bags.

Evidently, this store got a renovation recently, and it looks like it was worth it. As you enter on the right there’s a very large dining area where you can eat and drink things you purchase at the café and food stations. The produce and frozen foods departments are huge as is the floral department, one of the largest I’ve even seen in a grocery store. The beer and wine aisle is the fanciest department in the store, including a display table(which makes sense since these are going to be high-profit items). The rest of the aisles, departments, and overall cleanliness are up to the standard I’ve come to expect in the newer or recently renovated Market Baskets.

New store is very nice! Now that the fanfare has died down a bit, its less congested. The employees actually seem a bit happier in the newer store, and the layout/extra space throughout the store is nice. Only complaint/observation is this past week I saw a MB Veteran Manager(name tag said 45+ years) grilling younger employees(guessing 16−17yr old kids) about what aisles things are in. He would have people brought to him and would just be questioning them in rapid fire style right in the middle of the store. Seemed a bit degrading and you could tell the kids were nervous, but I guess this is how MB enforces their employees know their stuff. Rarely does someone not know where something is.

I wandered across the street from my hotel to this market after being directed here by my coworkers. Fellow crew members who rely on this place for fresh lobster tails. For a nominal fee, the fresh seafood market will steam a lobster for you, right in front of your eyes, and include dripping butter sauce. It’s a grocery yes, but with lots of pre-made foods ready to eat and go. Very convenient for travelers such as myself that like ready made dinners and such.

Just went to the market basket after doing about 30 minutes of shopping I got to the register to find the clerk telling me that the credit/debit system was down and they could only take cash or check. Luckily I had a check in my wallet and took it out. She then asked if I had a market basket card and I said no. She went on to say thats the only way they can accept checks. So you mean to tell me that there was NO notice or employees notifying customers until the checkout of this issue?! So I shopped for 30 minutes and can’t pay for my items when I even have a check?! You would think in circumstances like that you would allow all customers to pay with a check. I left my stuff and walked out. Absolutely ridiculous. Learn to run a store, people dont walk around with 100’s of dollars. Will never shop at a market basket again

Picked up the last six pack of Gosling’s diet ginger beer which Hannaford didn’t have. Extra points for the helpful employee who showed me all the other ginger root beer varieties.

Worst Market Basket in the chain. Store manager Chris Panagoulias was BULLYING/GRABBING(ASSAULTANDBATTERY?) a young man by the arm then giving him stern directions 4 inches away from the poor guys(high school?) face. I have also had sale items being scanned above the sale price on many occasions. This place just makes me sick. What a sorry way to run a business.

Seems a little dinkey but actually has some of the best deals in the area. Also supports very flexible schedules for employees.
