Pho Dai Loc

I absolutely love Phở Dai Loc. My friends and I quickly became ADDICTED to the quality, spice, and flavor profiles in their food. The Rare Beef Phở is my go-​to dish, I prefer the rare beef served raw on the side so I can cook it in the steaming hot and incredibly fragrant broth at my own pace. I usually begin EVERY meal with a banh-​mi sandwich. You WILL NOT find a better sandwich at the 3.25 $ price range, let alone in general. Other notable dishes are the Siam Tofu (request it with chicken if that’s your speed), the Short Ribs, and the Pad Thai.
The restaurant has dual-​ownership, and sometimes it is more of a latin-​style dance scene on weekends. It can be interesting. The owners are all incredibly personable, and they love to come check on their customers.
There is a LOT of talent in the kitchen.
I LOVE TO GO TO PHO.
P. S. ask for their house-​made chile oil, or their homemade pickled peppers on the side if you like some extra spice.

Save yourself the disappointment and stomachache and avoid this place at all costs. Have been here twice; once to dine-​in and the other take-​out.
Dine-​in experience: Place was completely empty; warning sign number 1. Like other reviews have mentioned. They offered us ceviche and chips. Our server was not friendly and did not know the menu.
Take-​Out. I came in to place a take out order. Again, place was empty except for 1 very loud table. Took the staff 10 minutes to acknowledge me because they were too busy socializing with what seemed like their family dining in. After 10 minutes of waiting I ordered my food to-​go. I went to their restroom and it was the dirtiest bathroom I have ever seen… doesn’t give a good impression on how they may keep their kitchen. They finally brought me my order. but for dine in and not to go. Ate my phở there and do not plan to return ever. I do not know how they are still in business.

The food is delicious! Unfortunately, they blast the music way too loud. It’s a Spanish/​Vietnamese restaurant. Try not to go after 5pm unless you want to be in for a shocking surprise.

Lolllll. It’s a Mexican restaurant with a Vietnamese phở sign outside. That is all. I walked in with a friend and we thought we had the wrong place. Spanish music blasting. With a guy singing «karaōke». It was packed so maybe it’s not bad. But it was kind of awkward.

Weird is all I can say. I opened the door and all I heard was loud Spanish music. I thought I had the wrong place so I went outside and looked at the sign and sure enough it say «vietnamese restaurant». I couldn’t help but laugh and head to my vehicle.

First and last time here. Not sure what this place is supposed to be but it’s definitely not 100% authentic Vietnamese.
Staff was outside the door smoking and walked inside appears to be the owner with a cigarette in his mouth, not lit up. Red flag!
I should have walked out but I was really craving a boba drink. Ordered a honey dew slush with boba and a pork sandwich.
Owner appears to be Vietnamese but smoking staff is Hispanic. While waiting, she brought a lil tray of chips and cerviche to try. Cerviche is not a Vietnamese dish and I pointed out and she told me that they do everything. Okay…
While waiting on my sandwich to go, i was looking around and realize that the décor, clutter, junk, a bike parked inside, a random customer started speaking Spanish to me, and so on, made me question my choice. Did the smoker washed her hands? Did the owner with the cigarette in his mouth, wash his hands. Probably not so when I got the food, I politely paid and left.
I threw away the sandwich cause it wasn’t worth it for me to risk vomiting and diarrhea. But I did try the boba slush. It wasn’t slushed. It was more like crushed iced in a shaken powder drink with boba. Nasty texture and taste. That was in the trash too. Needless to say, $ 8 bucks in the trash.

Do not go on the weekends, unless you want Latin Karaōke. All the servers were Latin as well! I have nothing against this, but it’s a Vietnamese place. So very odd!!! I was hungry and that is the only reason I ordered take-out!The Basil Rolls were huge, but that’s the only positive. The Pad Thai was poor and the Bubble Tea had crushed ice in it.

Very nice surprise. Found on Unilocal and not far from 75 and the Phở was very good and so were the spring rolls. Freshly made to order. Highly recommend. Another patron mentioned they have great Mexican food as well! Nice gem in a small package.

It’s difficult to be picky if you’re craving Vietnamese Phở and you have less choices than fingers on one hand. But it’s easy to be a Vietnamese Restaurant owner when you realize you have no competition so you can get away with anything! And this is Phở Dai Loc’s scenario.
PHO IS PSHHHHH
Even if you’ve never had Phở before (and I’ve had plenty from all over the world to compare this against) the broth here isn’t aromatic or flavorful but at least it wasn’t completely bland. The Special came with only two types of Meat but they held their own decent flavor and were nicely soft. Even the Noodles were great texture and filling. The accompanying Leaves and Bean Sprouts was rather small.
The Red Curry Duck didn’t contain enough duck for the price although what crept in was almost melting soft. Unfortunately the Red Curry was very overwhelming. The Duck itself died in all the other flavors. Finally the Pork Stir Fry with Basil was also very skimpy on the Pork pieces. 70% of that dish was Peppers and Onions. The bites that were balanced in ingredients tasted great!
PRICES IS SO PHO UP
Once again, remember there’s barely any competition. The size of Phở here was $ 12, but if you take the same Phở size to any of Florida’s busier areas it would only be $ 7-​ish (yet with more flavor). My other dishes were also at least $ 3 more than they should be especially with the lack of protein.
AND MY OTHER VISIT WAS TO A MEXICAN CLUB
Appearing during one, random Saturday night I had to do several takes at the sign to make sure I was at the right place. Salsa music blasted out the doors. The crowd surrounding the counter/​bar gave me looks wondering if I was in the right place. The women were hoochied up and the television was on a Spanish Network. I couldn’t tell if this was every Saturday or not because day time visits were calmer (although Salsa music still heard).
While it’ll be cool to have a Vietnamese/​Mexican fusion restaurant (as others have mentioned) I predict that concept won’t last beyond two years here unless huge changes take place. The owner is totally selling out and I can see, hear, and yes… taste… that sellout.

Wanted Phở for dinner and found that this place was not very far from where I lived. It’s semi-​new so I thought what the heck?
Never…ever…ever again…
The place was dead and I could really see why.
First of all, the wait staff, where as she said she was new had no clue what she was doing and looked like she was not trained at all.
We ordered our drinks (two «boba» (if you can call them that) and two canned sodas) We got the canned drinks pretty quickly, however, the canned drink had hair on it and the glass was dirty and chipped. We also really had to clean the rim of the can (not really a huge deal, you have to do that with almost every can). However, the «boba» tea took forever coming out and it came out in plastic cups (if I was on the go this would have been perfect) and I ordered the coffee flavor, worst idea ever, it was almost like jello at the bottom, with chunks of cookies in it. It was horrid.
The order also got messed up (again new wait staff, I am not going to really be upset about it)
We got our food (three bowls of Phở and a Pad Thai) the Phở almost seemed like it came out of a can or box. The meat was horrid and the «meat balls» were filled with something hard. It was really gross and the Pad Thai was ever worse. The shrimp was over cooked, it was like a shrimp gum. The noodles, again, over done and it was way to sweet.
The other thing that threw me and my family for a loop was the lack of care for the place, very plain and boring, a tv that was half broken and no music. Also, the cards for «dog coffins» placed under the glass at the tables really threw my nine year old off. The service was bad, the food was worse and now my whole family is sick as well. Will be calling the health dept. tomorrow about this place.
I will not be going back. I do not see this place staying open long at all.
For your sake, stay away.

I went there with my mother for lunch and was very happy. The waitress was nice and smiling when we arrived. It has a simple interior, nothing fancy, but the food was outstanding! My mom had shrimp pad thai and the small portion was very large and delicious. They didn’t cheat you on the shrimp as some restaurants do.
I had lemongrass chicken which was yummy. I also ordered the small size and it was more than enough. They give you the option of small or large for most entrees, but the small was quite generous.
The food was probably some of the BEST Vietnamese I have ever tasted. Highly recommend this place for the food.

Wow! The food came out fast but then we waited 20 min for more hot tea! I love Vietnamese food but this was definitely not it. I ordered spring rolls and apparently the put rice in theirs. So not a fan :-(The waitress also brought us chopsticks with her bare hands!!! Not packaged just in her hands. Not sanitary!
The Phở was not flavorful and the brisket somewhat tough. When we walked in there was Latin music blaring (which I liked) but thought it odd for a Vietnamese restaurant.
Another family came in and their 3 little kids ran around the restaurant like animals, including running back into the kitchen. The waitress didn’t say a word to them.
We WILL NOT BE BACK!!!

Just tried this place last Sunday, after reading about it here on Unilocal.
The waitress brought a basket of fried tortilla chips, explaining that the restaurant is branching out into Mexican food as well. They were made from flour, not corn, and were slightly sweet. So good!
My boo had Phở soup and enjoyed it. I had a basil shrimp roll (fresh spring roll) with peanut sauce, and the banh mi sandwich, with pork. Overall very tasty. The baguette was perfect. But the meat was gristle-​y, I ended up taking it out. Next time I think I’ll just get veggies in it.
Oh and to drink I ordered a boba tea, avocado flavor! Which excited me because bubble tea is hard to find in Naples. But when it came out, instead of tapioca pearls there was jell-​o at the bottom! And it was an ice-​blended drink, like a smoothie. I actually liked it better than boba tea, I will definitely get it again!
I gave it a 4 because my food came out way before my boyfriend’s did. And the gristley meat thing.

I was surprised at the home cooked taste of everything, I felt like I was part of the family. The phở brisket was very good and filling. The spring rolls were very tasty especially with the peanut sauce, although I put a little siracha to add a kick as well. The service was great and they are all very sweet. Although it’s not the best I’ve had, only five stars goes to Phở Cali in Sarasota, this was great now that I love in the area and don’t want to drive that far.

This was so close to being a 5 star. I have been eating Vietnamese phở for a long time and the flavor in this batch was outstanding. Definitely the best flavor I have ever had. I generally drown mine in siracha however I went light on it just for that reason.
If there was any complaint it was that they went a little light on the beef and it wasnt cut very thinly. However it wasn’t as if there was none in there.
Service was great as well, owners son helped me, he was attentive and engaging. I will for sure be back.

Naples, Florida is not the mecca of ethnic food. Good asian food is hard to find. Vietnamese food near impossible. To our delight, we recently found out about the new Phở Dai Loc, legit, authentic, healthy food made fresh daily by owner/​operator/​chef Tina. Whenever we travel, we seek out Vietnamese restaurants. What a treat to have one so close to home now.
This is the best Vietnamese food in SWFL! Super affordable. Owner/​kind souls Tina and her sons Seon and Ryan are hospitable, friendly & passionate about their food. We ordered & loved the Bún Thį Nu’ó’ng (Rice noodles and grilled pork & shrimps), Phô Noodle Soup, Gôi Cuôn (Basil Spring Rolls). Chef Tina grows most of their own ingredients!
Our waiter Ryan was friendly and helpful. He informed us that his mom Tina opened the restaurant this summer just a few doors down from the nail salon she has run for the past 8 years. Formerly a Thai restaurant that closed, Tina saw an opportunity to pursue her dream of running a Vietnamese restaurant in Naples. She kept a few of the Thai staples on the menu to cater to former clientele. Kudos to her!
WIth much appreciation, Phở Dai Loc is welcome to Naples with open arms. We’ll be eating there at least once a week!

Went around 2pm on a Saturday and for a while I was the only patron until a group of businessmen walked in about 30 minutes later. What caught my interest was the photo of the banh mi on Unilocal — I have been waiting for a local joint to serve them for AGES!
Small space, but clean and tidy. My waiter was friendly and we chatted about Vietnamese restaurants in the area and future additions to their menu.
Ordered a shrimp basil roll. 2 decently sized rolls with a peanut dipping sauce and the more sweet one with pickled carrots that made a good addition to the roll.
Small rare beef phở was a bit light on the beef but heavy on the noodle. Broth was subtle, but I added my usual sriracha sauce and lime. The apparently grow the Thai basil and jalapeños themselves, which I thought was a nice touch.
Also ordered a pork banh mi to go as I was so full from my meal… but I ended up eating it as soon as I got home. Lovely bread with just the right amount of crispness, but a little dry as a previous reviewer commented. Don’t think there was any mayo, but the veggies and seasoning on the pork went well together.
Waitstaff was not that attentive when it came to refilling my water, but luckily I had finished by the time I emptied my glass. Hence, 3 stars instead of 4.
All in all, I recommend it and I’ll be going back myself!

We went for the first time today. We were the only patrons as it is off season still and a new restaurant. It is nicely decorated, casual and not fancy, but nice. It was clean and well cared for. They have a TV and the game was on when we arrived. They also have karaōke usually during the weekdays, but also for celebrations like a recent birthday party. Looks like it could be a lot of fun if you enjoy karaōke. We had pork egg rolls for appetizer. They were unique and different then we have had at any other asian/​vietnamese restaurant. The inside was creamier than expected, the flavor was very good and the sauce was equally good. We then had vegetable cashew with white rice and the sauce was light, minimal and very good. We also had chicken fried rice that was delicious. We asked about MSG and the owner stated that they do not use MSG in the making of their food! YEAH…
We spoke with the owner for some time. Her name is Tina and she and her husband opened their restaurant just 3 to 4 months ago. She learned cooking in her country of origin and her family is a family of cooking and working in restaurants in Vietnam and America. Tina was very kind and really wanted us to enjoy our food and was eager for our feedback. We really enjoyed our experience and would absolutely return again and try some other dishes. This is a nice Vietnamese addition to the Naples scene.

We were excited about trying this place. There’s only one Vietnamese place in town and it’s just Ok. When we arrived, the place had a few tables, fairly busy. This is a small place, but what was strange was the huge amount of space being taken up by the Karaōke stage. It was located right in the pathway of the servers going from the kitchen to the dining area and you could see the server having to step over the stage each time — an accident waiting to happen.
In any case, we tried the spring rolls and it was OK in comparison to some of the other places we’ve tried. The peanut sauce was good. The Phở is the only way we can judge a Vietnamese restaurant and while we could ignore the bland taste of the spring rolls, we are very particular about Phở. When our Phở came out in a cart, our hearts sank. You could immediately tell that it was not going to be good. The only thing you could see was the broth, the rare beef and the noodles could barely be seen. The broth had no flavor and we forced to add soy sauce and other spices to make it edible. The rare beef was completely overcooked and surprisingly, very little beef was given so I guess you could call it rare.
When the owner came out, she noticed we didn’t eat much and she asked how was everything. She could see that something was wrong but we didn’t have the heart to say anything. She seemed really nice and we felt bad, because we know how difficult it is to open up a new business. Unfortunately, we will not be back. We will continue to get our Phở in Tampa or Orlando when we visit. Oh well.
We love to support local businesses but just cannot recommend this one. Sorry.

I’m always happy to see more authentic Asian restaurants pop up in Naples. This place looks like its run by a Vietnamese mother and her family. Very nice people! Besides the waitstaff, they would periodically check up on us to make sure our dining experience was pleasant. The waiter was new. He needs to brush up on the menu a bit, but he tried his best to answer our questions and be attentive.
For the appetizer, we tried the basil roll, which was basically a Vietnamese spring roll. Super tasty!!! I am glad we ordered it. The roll was nicely wrapped and the peanut sauce was the perfect consistency.
For the main course, I ordered the phở with brisket. And then, ended up ordering a sliced beef banh mi sandwich for the heck of it, because it was only $ 3.50!!! You can’t beat that price! I thought the phở was okay. The portion was decent, but the broth needed more flavor. The banh mi was pretty good. The baguette was perfectly toasted. I wish it had more meat, but I had to remind myself I only paid $ 3.50 for it. I’m not sure if this is a normal Vietnamese thing to add to banh mi, but these sandwiches didn’t have mayonnaise on them. They were bit more dry than I prefer without it.
Overall, I had a good meal. This place is worth a try!
