Naples Grande Beach Resort

The resort is beautiful! But very pricy, and the restaurant The Catch of the pelican is horrible. Décor wise it’s very pretty the outside is nice and relaxing the inside is very pretty. The pool area is crowded. And the food is over priced. Nothing is included.

Arriving at the hotel, we experienced quite the professional and friendly welcome from the valet. We were greeted at the front desk by Kimberly Laxson, who was cheerful, knowledgeable, beaming with confidence and armed with pertinent information. Then Jeff, the bellman, took our luggage to our room. After that, it was downhill from there.
The maid service was spotty. On most days, we left our room around 10 or 11. On one occasion, after being out of our room for 5 hours, it had not been cleaned. On another occasion, the soak tub had not been cleaned. We had to request an additional roll of toilet paper, as if we were on some «one-​roll» allocation. Everything seemed to have an up charge — not my idea of a 4-​star hotel. The beach was beautiful, but again, every little thing had an up charge. After a while, I was expecting a charge for the sand!
Service at the outdoor restaurants was painfully slow. One waitress didn’t even know what a mocktail was. Service at the beach restaurants was good. Sergio is a great example of that!
The best features of the hotel were the huge balconies, with awesome views. We had two balconies (awesome), but one of them wasn’t furnished, for some reason. The rooms were also large and comfortable and nicely furnished, although carpet had spots from past guests.
Would be remiss if I didn’t mention the courteous, appropriately friendly service provided by Marilyn (Gift Shop). Classy lady!
One bottom line seems to be that staff is not trained to provide efficient, knowledgeable, and pleasant service. The other bottom line is the «nickel & dime» thing that permeates everything. Just deducts from the nice experience it could have been.

Came for a few nights this weekend and had a lovely time. The service was great, everything was much better than I expected. We took our kids to the pool and a resort worker offered us the cabana to use for the afternoon for free so we could keep our baby out of the sun. The pool itself was great, our 3-​year-​old loved going down the slide on our laps. The beach is nice, I like the drive through the mangrove. The room and bathroom were very clean. We just had a basic room and the view was great. The balcony was so inviting. It was one of those places where you didn’t feel like you were wasting time just hanging out in the room with the balcony doors open. Nice bath products, everything just felt really comfortable and the same quality stuff that you would use at home and we loved that. Will definitely be back next year!

Had a great girls weekend, spent two nights shopping and eating around town. Didn’t spend much time at the resort but it was beautiful and relaxing. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. Rooms were very spacious and the balcony overlooking the water was the most amazing part!

I am perplexed as to how this is a 4 star hotel. I was not impressed with on feature this «resort» had.
Walking into the resort from the parking garage it smelled worse than a McDonalds play area. Mold and uncleanliness clearly were in the air. Staff were less than helpful, but did remain friendly.
Our room was located on the 3^rd floor which had constant traffic to and from elevator and fitness center. Our neighbors could be heard at all hours of day and night.
The cherry on top was that the seal on the tub clearly was not enact. All week we had wondered why the floor of outer room was wet, it wasn’t until taking a bath on the last night and coming out to a completely soaked carpet and corridor area that we discovered something was clearly wrong with the seal.
The view good, but facing the pool provided for a loud morning. The beach was under renovation which was not communicated to us upon booking. Having lived in Naples for 3 years I can confidently say I am disappointed by the quality and caliber.

The place was great. A clean room, nice front desk, good drinks. But there’s a million little hellions running around. The main pool is filled with sugar filled twerps. The adult pool is full by 9am. We loved the food, we loved the beach (which is a 10 minutes walk or 2 minutes by golf cart) but if you’re going to spend this kind of money and want to be alone… look elsewhere. Had a blast and don’t regret the trip but if you are looking to spend a trip without children, there are plenty of others without the insanity.

I love it here! If dining at Catch be sure to get the Brussels sprouts! The lobster was incredible as well.
The staff couldn’t have been kinder! Although the check-​in wait was a little long, mostly I think because there’s a lot of information about the amenities, the staff was so kind!
The rooms were a good size but the balcony was the best part. What a great view from the 18^th floor!
I love that there is a family pool and another for adults with a jacuzzi. As a previous certified pool operator cleanliness is of utmost importance and it is obvious they take care of their aquatics systems.
The beds in my room were great. My co-​worker said his were uncomfortable but I didn’t find that the case at all. In fact I’m lying in mine now :)
I took the tram to the beach which was a very cool idea on their part. You literally get the best of both worlds: protected mangrove forest and then dropped off on a little beach. I wouldn’t waste my time with the beach food because the hotel restaurants are so much better and just a slightly higher price point.
Can’t wait to come back!

Where do I start.
The bad:
$ 35 resort fee that at the end of stay tell me I signed the registration card that explained it. It covers your drink chits (please how cheesy) wifi ETC. What other resort do you know that does this.
Nickeled and dimes. .7 mike walk to beach. They have extended golf carts as option. Good luck waiting in line.
Beach. Charge for umbrellas. Chair and towels free everything else was an up charge. The restaurant at the beach is a order at window then wait for food. The beach is long and crowded. Your beach boy who finds your chair drops the towels on the chair and leaves. Doesn’t even set up the chair. I tipped him and wondered why.
The hotel restaurant The catch of the pelican. Good not bad. Service horrendous. Seriously bad.

Front desk. One person manning desk. Wait wait wait.
Want coffee in the morning? Yes that requires buying it at a coffee station. Oh wait you can use your drink chits. By the time you’re done with all the nickels and dimes you’ve paid for a true resort experience.
Water by pool comes out at 10am. No real pool service or setting up chairs.
Hotel breakfast. Think Marriott business hotel. Nothing outside. All sterile inside. You’re in Naples for a holiday. You’ll want to be outside.
The hotel lobby open and sterile.
The concierge. Not helpful and snippy.
Pool side service closes at 5pm.
This is a business event hotel. For example one pool will be closed at 5pm thus you need to move.
Areas are cordoned off in public use areas for other events while here.
Room needs evening turn down.
The GOOD.
Pool side food delivery efficient
Bartenders at lobby bar one good. One born without personality trait. Good one terrific.
Rooms nice. Seem clean.
Bottom line. Jenny said to Forest Gump. Run Forest Run. Go elsewhere if your here for a resort or vacation experience. They have used a fee structure that in the end will allow you to pay for a better hotel. Suggest the La Playa. Right on beach.
Will not return.
Here’s the solution. First if it’s a conference event for business this is ample. If you’re here in holiday you should go elsewhere.
Fire the general manager. Usually this is a trickle down issue. Fire the concierge. Fire the front desk supervisor. Fire restaurant manager and Natalie. Rocky poolside needs significant training. Yup I’m calling them all out.
Then go get Forbes certification. Change staff where needed. A serious look at training is required.
I’ve visit many properties. Service hides lots of flaws.

So the wifey and I have become hotel snobs, which I blame her for making me naturally. We come down here every March for a conference for work where the wifey and daughter tag along. I have heard from people that this hotel is a little long in the tooth, but I do not think that at all.
There is a great pool with water slide (woohoo!), and there is also an adult only pool. Near the pool area is a nice wood promenade that traverses through the swampland to the beach where the beach restaurant is located.
The parking is directly below the hotel and easy to reach. For our conference it was gratis, so that was nice. The hotel rooms are rather large, and I absolutely love the generously sized balconies that connect to each room. The internet is also free.
We were placed in a room with a handicap bathroom, and the hose on the shower kept spraying so that would be my only complaint.
The location is really centrally located only a half hour south of Southwest Florida International, 15 minutes south of the outlets and 15 minutes north of old Naples.
Happy to stay here every year for work.

I have stayed here before when it was the Waldorf and clearly Hilton cares much more about their guest satisfaction and reputation. I paid $ 1100 for a 3 night stay up front. When I checked out there was an additional $ 35 fee that was not mentioned on the travel site, the front desk, or anybody else at the hotel. The hotel manager refused to do anything about it and even stated that the fee covers «complimentary drink tickets». ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I asked him how they can possibly call something complimentary and then charge for it.
DO NOT STAY HERE! You are far better off at a resort like Hilton or Ritz or Marriott.

One star for the lovely people that work at this hotel. Two stars for the bed. The balcony, view, nature and beach are rocking!
Now… the things that sucked for me:
1– 35 $ A DAY CHARGE for «CREATIVE CHARGES»
a) hard ass towels for the beach
(Would rather bring a hard ass towel from my room)
b) the complimentary drink coupons
(for «select» beer and wine)
c) the free wifi… They should call it no-​fi.
(had to purchase the 12.95 $ internet charge just to get a signal that actually worked.
35 $ a day adds up when you can’t see the value which devalues my opinion of the hotel.
On another note:
The pillows are too soft and the room was cold at night. So I go to turn on a little heat? Nada!
There’s also this mystery charge which is different for each room even if it’s on the same floor.
Espresso was 6 $(costs more thank Starbucks)
Ok. I guess they have to pay for the nature, beach, alligator and geckos somehow.

New, modern and clean, this place is reasonably priced vs the Naples competition. Service is good so far and everyone seems very friendly. Rooms are great with big balcony and nice views. Beach access is either a long walk or by shuttle, but the shuttles also serve local traffic and there is usually a pretty long line for pick up. The beach is very narrow here and crowded. The beach bar is a fun hangout with music to accompany the sunset.
Negatives are that the place is very crowded — a mob scene at the pool. Also the food at the poolside bar is terrible. Between us we had four different types of taco and all were dry and flavorless.
Overall a good deal if you have lots of small kids and don’t mind being part of the crowd.
Update: Adding a star. Had dinner at the Catch restaurant and it was very good. Fresh seafood with great service.

Stayed at hotel for conference and hotel was nice except for the large roach I found after the first night. When I asked for another room the front desk took 7 hours after reporting the roach to get me a new room.

Stayed there a few weekends (used to Waldorf Astoria) and we loved the place.
Clean with good amenities and customer service.
I think more than anything we learned that the small stuff adds up buying there (I.e snacks, drinks etc) but a short drive to publix and the kids are good for the weekend

If you are a fussy traveler you will not love this place. If you are a rewards member at the big chains and like the little extras don’t expect them here. But the rooms are lovely and the property is excellent.
The beach is far! Too far to walk (.7 miles). The do have a shuttle but the line coming back is long.
The pools are great but a little cramped. There is an adult only pool.
Service at the pool and inside bar were excellent. The service at the beach was just ok. No alcohol is allowed on the sand so you have to sneak it.
All in all it was a pretty good value but it is not beach side.
The room I had was the cheapest available but absolutley lovely and spacious and each has a nice sized patio,
I called the hotel and asked if a double queen room could have a roll away and they said no problem. Upon arrival they said No its against the fire code so I ended up getting a second room. That was very troubling.

Gorgeous hotel, but pricey! The interior design in the lobby, deck, pool and the rooms is extraordinary! I was pleasantly surprised. My room was clean, nicely decorated, had a balcony and the view of the gulf (I stayed on the 9^th floor). I had a big soaker tub in my room, which I loved. the shampoo and hair conditioner were surprisingly good, made my hair feel super soft. The room has a small fridge but no microwave. I guess they don’t think you need it. It’s hot in Florida! They placed two bottles of wine in my room, red and white. I tried the red Kenwood Cabernet and it was not good, gave me a terrible headache. Why not replace it with a nicer wine like Carmel Ridge or Francis Coppola?
The food options are limited. The website says there are 7 restaurants, that is not true. There is one downstairs, the deck, the pool bar, the catch for dinner only and they count the one at the beach (I don’t think it counts!!). But even if it does that’s only 5 and except for the catch I would not really call them restaurants, more like snack bars. But the food is really good! I had miso sea bass at the catch, power breakfast wrap with the room service, ceviche shrimp Diablo at the deck and breakfast with eggs and turkey sausage. All was delicious. There is an espresso bar downstairs and they make excellent ice lattes. But if you arrive late, beware, even the bar closes by 11. They do have an all night room service.
The beach is 0.6 miles away. You can take a tram shuttle (elongated golf cart) to the beach or you can walk. It took me 13 minutes to walk there and it often takes much longer to wait for the tram. The beach is gorgeous! Your $ 35/​day resort fee includes a lounge chair rental at the beach. It does not include parking, which runs an additional $ 18/​day. A lounge chair at the beach hardly justifies the hotel charging a $ 35/​day resort fee considering that the lounge rental price at the beach is $ 5 and whatever else is included in this fee like wi-​fi is super slow.
When I checked in they gave me 2 free drink tickets per each night of my stay. Not sure if they do this for everyone but it was nice.
If I had to give stars for the value, it would one get 1. But overall, it was a very pleasant stay.

This is an ok hotel. The service staff is friendly and quick, but the amenities are not great. Parking is not included, so be prepared to pay an additional $ 10 per day for that.
Although you can see the ocean from your balcony, the beach is like a ten-​thousand mile walk through a muggy swampland. There IS a little free trolley service for this portion of your journey, however.
Once you get to the beach, you can’t take adult beverages down to the sand and you can’t stay past dusk, so if you were hoping for a romantic moonlit walk on the beach with your lover and a glass of wine, your hopes and dreams will be shattered.
Also the hallway smells bad.
The bathtubs are nice!

NOT a beach front resort!
Pros: updated lobby and rooms, friendly staff, and fun pool
Cons: not on the beach (½ mile walk or golf cart ride), beach requires additional $ 30 for an umbrella, food is MEDIOCRE, drinks overpriced, and quality does not command high prices.
We are here for a conference and therefore it is a corporate expense. Otherwise my family and I would definitely not be staying here. There are better hotels in the area for similar prices. This hotel should affiliate itself with Starwood, Marriott, etc if they want to get away with these high prices.

My wife, 6 mo daughter and I just arrived her last night. Will be here for another 4 days.
Overall, it’s a beautiful property with gorgeous décor and front lobby. We are staying in a Villa suite, which is huge and very clean and modern. Perfect for the baby, as it gives us two rooms. And, we only paid $ 130 /​night (CAD) + $ 30 /​day resort fee. A great deal.
However, the reason for the 3 stars is due to the customer service. We find the staff (especially the pool staff) don’t care much for their jobs. Asking them for anything seemed to be a chore for them. For example, we ordered drinks by the pool and the guys attitude was very unfriendly. We also asked for a baby diaper which there are signs by the pool saying it is free if your infant wants to go in. But, they ran out and instead of helping us, they told us to go to CVS down the street.
However, once you exclude the pool staff we’ve found that the front desk was very helpful — especially in helping us down the stairs with a stroller since the elevators were broken.
The other issue we experienced was with a bee infestation on the beach. Apparently last week a lady was stung 50 times! We were headed to the beach but told to stay away by staff as they were trying to get rid of the African Bee Hive. With a 6 month old, we didn’t want to risk it so stayed by the pool all day.
The bee infestation wasn’t the hotel’s fault, but it still cost us valuable beach time which is why we came here.
Overall, we give them a solid 3 stars.
Better customer service would have easily brought it to a 4 or 5. Management should be the one to blame for this, as the staff are obviously not motivated to care about their jobs.

I have to preface this review by acknowledging the fact that I was a) part of a corporate group and b) I did not pay for a thing. So I cannot comment on whether or not Naples Grande is «worth» the price, but I can comment on my experience here, which unlike the other reviews here, were actually quite spectacular.
Beach:
Is a far walk. You can either take the golf cart shuttle thing they have, or take the nice walk out to the beach on their boardwalk — just watch out for the shuttles driving by. The beach area owned by Naples Grande is great, and there’s a bar out there.
Rooms:
Boo, I was assigned a room on the 3^rd floor, so no comments on the view. The balcony was quite nice and well-​furnished with nice wicker seats and a small table. The bed and pillows were comfortable and I never felt dirty. One thing — I like to keep it cold in my room and the «comforter» was just a thick sheet… hardly even a blanket! There is a safe in the closet. The bathroom is clean as well. The trash can had stains in it… ew. Also, the faucet in the bathtub (which is HUUUUUGE) would run continuously even though I was using the shower head — I ended up showering in a small pond every morning and night. These were recently renovated so they were updated and very clean — I’m pretty sure the construction is done by now after reading all these reviews because I didn’t hear a thing.
Service:
Because we were a corporate event, I have differing opinions on the staff. All of them were helpful and very nice. One in particular even went out of his way to get me delicious steel-​cut oatmeal! The DJ is the same person as one of the bellhops and was awful… at least that was the consensus. I declined housekeeping, but I did run into the nice lady in the hallway… she barely spoke English and I tried to tell her I would get service when she was outside my door when I went in, but that was kaput due to inability to communicate.
Food:
The food by the pool outside was expensive and just meh. However, the food that was catered to us during our multiple events was outstanding. Coconut shrimp, pot roast, desserts, breakfasts… all of it was better than I expected for a hotel.
Fitness:
There is a fitness room on the 3^rd floor. For runners like me, they have a map at the concierge downstairs on paved/​sidewalk routes to run around Pelican Bay — I highly recommend this!
Amenities:
Wifi — no problems.
Pool/​chairs — no problems.
Gift shop — Try the key lime cookies!
Overall, unforgettable week at Naples Grande.
