Specialties
How The Weatherworks provides expert witness services for attorneys and insurance companies in all matters that involve weather (wind, water, lightning, snowfall). This includes weather situations involving property damage, marine and aviation accidents, construction and building incidents, and personal injury. In addition to our meteorological expertise, we provide guidance and support in developing courtroom exhibits and in addressing various weather-related case matters.
We also provide a wide array of educational/learning services including in-school field trips, public event programming, trade book writing, blogging and more.
Whatever we do always involves helping our clients understand, «How The Weather Works.»
History
Established in 1979.
How The Weatherworks was created in 1979 when Fairfax County (VA) Public Schools hired me to teach their 11th grade teachers, «How The Weather Works.» This course caused me to realize the value of the «teachable moment,» and capitalize on that for the past three and a half decades.
As the business evolved, Barbara Levine (we were married in 1986) became the educator team member.
Collectively, we have taught thousands of people (of all ages) about weather through our books (we have published five so far), in-school field trips, and public event programming (AAAS Family Science Days, Weatherfests and Severe Weather Expos).
