This was the worst experience of my life, this place is all about cranking in the snowbirds, beating them over the head and sending them on their way. I know this place has been here for a long time but the climate has changed the manager is extremely harsh. Service and their ability to deal with people horrible. Save your money and a trip.

Whenever I arrive in the Naples area getting back here is a big priority. This is not 3rd Avenue… this is an off the beach oasis offering a casual/restaurant bar, a friendly, efficient staff that never disappoints, and THE best fried shrimp ever. If it’s not my first stop on the visit, I’m just not completely happy until I get back there.

Alice Sweetwater’s is one of the best casual eateries in Naples to enjoy good company(you can also feel comfortable eating here by yourself), good food, and great service. The food is fresh and tasty. I always appreciate their consistently delicious crab cake, crab & shrimp salad, and Lobster Reuben sandwiches. Family and friends who eat red meat state that their dishes are also consistently good. Although inside is pleasant(though sometimes loud), my large family appreciates the balmy outdoor seating. The service has always been great. I have returned to eat here each time I have come to visit my folks over the last 25 years. It says a lot about a restaurant when the servers stick around. Rob, our favorite server, has been at Alice Sweetwater’s since 1989. I always appreciate the attitude of the person serving my food as it affects my whole dining experience. Going back to Alice Sweetwater’s is a classic favorite when I want a great atmosphere where I can kick back, wear my jeans, be fed well, and know that my presence is appreciated by the service received.

Starters, lobster bisque, shrimp and clam chowder, and gator bites. Server is Pat, he is very good and personable. Very attentive. Both chowder and bisque were good. Bisque could be thicker. It came with a small lobster claw. I like mine with lobster chunks. Bisque was like a beer cheese soup. Definitely worthy of dunking any kind of bread. I had the stuffed grouper which was very good and fresh. Came with sweet potato and a side salad. Syd had the open face veggie sandwich. It had portobello mushroom, sauted onions, roasted red peppers and cheese. Carrot cake for dessert. It was pretty busy do to those damn french Canadians but wait wasn’t to long. We were seated within a 15 minute time period. We will return. FYI the gator was very good and tender. Fried just right.

This is our first time here and everything was great! The staff are friendly. The food is delicious and comes out quickly. The restaurant itself is quaint and enjoyable. We ordered Nacho Mama, BBQ Pork, and a chicken quesadilla. Everything was plentiful and a very good value for the amount of food you are served. Highly recommended!

I’ve been coming here for years whenever my family would vacation in Naples. My mom swears by the pork tenderloin sandwich and my dad by the fried grouper sandwich. I started with the lobster bisque and it was rich and creamy and everything I hoped it would be. I then had the grouper Reuben which was a fun mix of flavors. There’s a very friendly vibe in the place and if it’s not quite mind-blowing, it’s at least consistent.

Went after enjoying the beach and needed somewhere to eat before driving back home — I ordered the chili beans with a tuna salad and my gf ordered the special that night — lobster tail with crab stuffing and the lobster bisque. 1. The chili beans weren’t seasoned too well. 2. The head of lettuce that I received with the tuna on top was your run-of-the-mill bar food. Nothing too special. 3. According to my gf, my the special was a 6.5 out of then. 4. The lobster bisque was creamy and rich — GF approved.

The lobster Reuben is incredible. The pineapple and chipotle mayo complement each other beautifully. Amazing service and great food, this place is a gem.

We tried Alice Sweetwater’s on our last night in Naples. We got there about 8 on a Friday night but were given a wait time of 30 minutes. We got some drinks and sat outside to wait. The«thing» buzzed in about 10 minutes and we were led to a fairly small booth near the door, which wasn’t ideal but didn’t pose a problem because the food was so good. Since it was so late, we decided to eat«light». I got a bowl of the lobster bisque and my wife got a bowl of the seafood chowder. Then we split the grouper fish & chips. The bisque was the best I’ve had outside of Boston. Most places you go give you thick, clotted bisque that you have to cut with an almost equal amount of hot water to thin it out like a real bisque. Their bisque was on the thin side and VERY rich and creamy, just the way I like it. The seafood chowder my wife got was also very good. I finished it after licking out the bowl my bisque came in. It has an added flavor that I haven’t tasted in a seafood chowder before. It reminded me as if someone put bacon in the recipe. Who knows, maybe they did. The grouper fish & chips was excellent. It was very lightly breaded and cut into strips of a manageable size. Everything was hot and delicious. Our waiter was great too. My sister-in-law got the fish tacos. I didn’t taste them but she enjoyed them. Interestingly, she asked for cole slaw but was told it wasn’t a side you could get for the fish tacos, even though it listed it on the menu. Waiter said it was because the menus were made incorrectly or something. That was the only blemish on the dinner. There are so many positive reviews about the food, I hope to return to try ot

This has become a regular stop for us. The grouper sandwich is awesome! Convenient location with a generous menu. Today was quiet as a result of the July 4th holiday but usually see a steady flow of diners.

Food and atmosphere are cheap and tasteless. Not at all worth the 4-star rating, but the staff is friendly.

The food was great. The kids lived their meals. Chicken finger kids portion was large and a 10yr old girl couldn’t finish it– it cane with fries as well. My 12yr old nephew had the fried calamari app for lunch and they were well cooked and not overly greasy. I had the crab cake app for a lite lunch and it wasn’t enough for me. Their prices are a little high for lunch I thought. Everything I wanted was around $ 15. This is why I went with an appetizer. I would come back again.

My family and I have been coming to this restaurant during the spring months for several years now. We are originally from Wisconsin, so this place is everything a northerner could want: great seafood selections, a great outdoor patio and friendly service! However, our experience there last night left us questioning if we would return in the future. We arrived around 7:45pm and knew we wanted to sit on the patio to enjoy the beautiful Florida weather. When one of our party checked in to put our name in for a table he was greeted with an extremely grumpy and visibly displeased hostess. She had indicated it would be a 15 minute wait for a table inside or up to a 45 minute wait for a table outside. We were really in no rush so we said we would have a drink outside and wait for whatever option opened us first. As we were standing out there we noticed a table opened up and casually asked the hostess as she walked by us if that would be for us. She snapped back and said that it was for another group that she had already told us about. I have worked for the front of the house of a restaurant for many years and could not believe how rude she was to us. We continued to wait outside for 40 minutes for a table and had mentioned to the bartender that we had said we would even eat inside and that the 15 minute time estimate had long past. She thanked us for our patience and had mentioned that they were down a chef for the night and the kitchen was a little backed up. Again, we weren’t in a hurry and completely understood. Shortly after that she sat us at a table outside. We ordered our food and it took almost 45 minutes to come out. Once again, we weren’t in a hurry and we knew the food would be worth the wait. Once the food came out, one of our diner’s steaks was cold. I had the lobster BLT, which in prior years had been fabulous, but this also was somewhat cold. Our diner sent his steak back, but I continued to eat my meal because at this point it was past 9:30pm and I was starving. Our dining group was really laid back and we weren’t looking for any freebies, but we felt a round of drinks or desserts on the house would have been appropriate. Between the grumpy hostess, long wait and cold food, I know a kind gesture of something small like that would have gone a long way with our group. Hopefully the kitchen issue and crabby front of the house get figured out soon so others don’t have the same experience as we did.

Dinner in Naples? Yeah — go hit Alice Sweetwater’s. I’m not a seafood guy, but they are well known for their ocean-going fare. I’ve eaten there several times over the past many years, and each time it’s very, very good. I recall their salads being excellent. Seeing one the other day validated that recollection. This last time, I decided to get the BBQ pork sandwich. I had a hankerin’ for some BBQ, and I remember a dinner a few years ago of BBQ ribs that were so good. The BBQ pork sandwich had me concerned when it was delivered. Honestly, it looked like it slopped right out of a cat food can onto a bun. I was mortified, but only slightly. I assumed it was the side-effect of a «scoop» being used to build the sandwich. After using my fork to «fluff it up» a bit, it looked better. One bite into it, my fears were eased. The pork had the flavor you’d expect. I did notice that BBQ sauce was sparse, but our waitress was more than happy to bring a side of it by — the sauce is SO good! I slathered the sauce on the sandwich, but I didn’t stop there. Their cole slaw is pretty good, and even better when put on the sandwich! The fried were fresh and tasty. No complaints there. The atmosphere is in tune with the«fisherman» décor of the Naples area. The service was great. This is a must-stop when in town.

The perfect place to go when you simply want to be comfortable without making the restaurant experience a big deal. I usually order exactly the same thing every time I go. Fried Shrimp platter. The gulf shrimp are cooked to perfection, not overly breaded. The platter wouldn’t be complete without sweet potato fries. And to top it off, a Bombay Sapphire martini straight up with olives. What else could a person ask for.

Cannot fault a place that prides itself in offering very fresh anything. Here it is shrimp — dusted and fried in either traditional or cajun spice. My friend had mussels. The meaty yellow darlings were swimming in a buttery wine sauce. Lunch was really, really good. I heard that breakfast is the same — I’ll have to return just to be sure!
