Zano Salon & Day Spa

My daughter just back from getting a cut from Lawrence. She asked for a straight cut with some layers, and she got an inverted bob with no layers. And he even decided to tell her how awful her «box color» looked on her! And barely talked to her as he held conversations with people customers around her. What a jerk!
EDIT: I got a call the next day from the manager, Katherine. She apologized profusely for my daughter’s bad experience. She offered to refund my payment. The best thing was that she didn’t try to make excuses; she just made a heartfelt apology. A class act.
And I personally have had good experiences with manicures there.
So I changed my one-​star rating to a three-​star.

All roads start with London. I couldn’t recommend her more highly. Not only is she an amazing stylist, but she is SO welcoming. I moved from Phoenix to Naperville in May & discovered this thing called «humidity»…yuck. I have extremely difficult hair as it is & «humidity» made it unbearable.
Luckily, a friend from Seattle recommended a keratin express treatment. I went on Unilocal,discovered Zano, & booked a treatment right away! London was my stylist that day & I really lucked out– she’s awesome! I had mentioned needing to make an appointment for a cut & she immediately said she could make room to add it that day during the current appointment. When she learned I was new to the area– she gave me a bunch of recommendations of places to go & things to do! Things that were relatable to me & I actually enjoyed. She also recommended colorists for me — I’ve used 2 & they’ve both been great too.
So you’re probably wondering about how the hair actually looks… it’s been so great! The express keratin treatment made my hair feel completely different… softer/shinier…less frizzy/​tangly/​crazy. I’ve even gotten a second treatment since (the first was back in May). I can literally feel the difference in my hair when it is time to go back. And the cuts (and color) have been great– I religiously rebook. Another (unbiased) sign was when the Dry Bar stylist in Boston complimented my cut & told me I was going to someone who «knew what they were doing»!

If you need a massage call Zanos and ask for Lisa. She is the best. I have sent 3 of my golfing buddies and they all agree that Lisa gives the best massages they have ever had. Deep tissue with stretching … You will thank me

Wonderful experience! I won a gift certificate which was getting close to expiring, so I blindly made my appointments to get in ASAP. Wow, was I impressed with the entire experience, from making the appoinment, to check in, to the techs who serviced me. I’m a Spa regular, so I have the experience to to compare to. Lisa, my massage therapist was fantastic! She talked with me first, worked on all my problem areas, and gave me one of the best massages I’ve ever had. The room was calming, no outside noise and really set a good tone. Vanessa, my nail tech (manicure and pedicure) was great, too. She was very thorough, nice to talk with and did a wonderful job on fingers and toes. The spa waiting area was a little small, but I quickly got over that once I had my services done. The café waiting area for other services was a nice touch. Parking was easy, the salon was clean and inviting, and all employes I encountered were helpful. I will definitely be back!

I went to see Londyn for a haircut based on her being mentioned in several Unilocal reviews as someone who knows how to thin thick hair. I was really pleased with my service. I wanted a cut that could work with straightened or wavy hair; something collarbone-​length, with layers, and thinned out. Londyn delivered the perfect cut. I felt like she really paid attention, listening carefully to my needs, and gave me the cut I wanted. After Christopher left the Ogden Zano, I bounced around to a few different stylists, but I will stick with Londyn moving forward. I would definitely recommend her!

It was my first time going here and I was not pleased with my visit, at first the staff was friendly and the person who did my hair was nice and then towards the end to pay, the young girl at the front was not friendly and my haircut was done by a «senior» which I didn’t ask for, so there went the $ 60 on a haircut which my split ends are so noticeable:(

I’m a simpleton just a straight cut. Never color, no frills. It’s Mother’s Day weekend and I had a few hours to myself and booked an appt here. Had the rudest crankiest stylist. No smile no softness just barking at me. Moving my head around in a very harsh way and using the comb so hard and going over my ear over and over again. It was torture. Just read the reviews. The 26 that are hidden away in the not recommended section. I have to agree this did not feel like a spa to me. And the stylist was not in the right field to be around clients. Not going back to any location.

Ahhhh. This place has zen mastered. It is quite calm and relaxing right when you walk through the door. Hustle and bustle of DT Naperville is quieted and all you hear is the peaceful, yet soft music.
Since it’s spring, my little toes were looking pretty desperate for some love in order to be summer ready. It also happens to my husband’s birthday this week! Well he always said he wanted to try a pedicure, now is the best time to try!
I looked up several places that I felt he would be comfortable and Zano’s offers a gentleman’s pedicure! How perfect, I made an appointment and had absolutely no problem making an appointment for both of us at the same time for the upcoming weekend.
Tanya did my husband’s pedi and I’m so sorry I forgot her name, but it starts with an M! (Sheesh, I’m horrible!) did mine. Both ladies were pleasant and offered us something to drink. We both went with some Arnie Palmers — delicious on a hot and sunny day. We ended up with the Classic Pedicures since the fancy schmancy (i.e. expensive) pedicures didn’t seem worth the $ 20-​$ 30 upgrade.
They offer a heated and cinnamon scented neck wrap as well as those big massage chairs. It was pretty warm in there so I ditched the neck wrap about 10 minutes in.
In the end, my feet are now ready for flip flops and pretty open toed shoes and my husband is loving how soft and cleaned-​up his feet are. Men need pampering too and Zano’s was a perfect place to bring him.
If you are looking for a relaxing, capable, and much needed pedicure — Zano’s would be my suggestion!

Leah for color is absolutely amazing. I showed her a picture of the color and type of highlights I wanted and she nailed it! Not only did she perfect the color but she was able to highlight my clip in extensions which a lot of places will not do. Lastly, the price was amazing! I will never go anywhere else!

After 6 years trying many Naperville facial services, I went back to Zano for my regular facial every 6 weeks. I was regular Zano customer for 9 years before I stopped going there, only because the lady I went to regularly passed away in accident. The facial in Zano isn’t cheap, it’s why I only give 4 stars, but they still have the best quality at this area.

I love my new stylist Leann! I’ve seen her about 3 times now for hair cuts and blow out. I have SUPER FRIZZY curly hair, she just knows how to deal with it. At the salon, they have awesome lines of products.

The place is very clean and neat, but a bit pricey for their services if you aren’t in the Teen Zano’s club. London did a good job in cutting my hair by thinning it and was very patient in asking what I wanted my haircut to look like. The stylists their should learn how to «thin» hair as an option for people. I was not completely satisfied with my prom hairstyling, and so Zano’s offered to give me a refund back, I was really surprised and shocked that they are willing to do that! Shows that they do not just care about money and care about their customers. The salon had comforting music and was relaxing for the eyebrow session. The arch turned out the way I wanted to and was worth it. It also did not hurt as much as I expected it to. Not a very long wait to get a service done!

Love it here! I’m a natural blond & went brown @ another salon (on purpose). After a few months, I wanted to go back to blond & my colorist @ my last salon could never get the blond quite right. I tried Marissa @ Zano based on other reviews for blond hair, and it was great! Just went back to her for the second time. The blond is a natural, not-​too-​gold/​yellow blond color. I also had London cut in some bangs, which turned out great.

I’ve been going to Maria for haircuts for a few years now and I highly recommend her. She is a good listener and I’ve always loved the way she cuts my hair. I will definitely continue to see her. Omar has washed and dried my hair a few times and he is great as well.
The only thing I find off-​putting about Zano is the service at the front desk. It’s very hit-​or-​miss. The people who work there are usually nice, but are very young and often seem disorganized and not quite as professional as the rest of the salon.

I love this Zano location! I am always here for waxing with KELLY, and she is amazing at what she does, not to mention a total sweetheart. I am very particular about the shape of my eyebrows, and she completely understands and does a perfect job every time. The hard wax they use smells good and is not painful. I am getting a facial with her in about a week, and I’m sure it is going to be amazing as well! If you are going to this Zanos for a service with an aesthetician, ask for KELLY!

I’ve gotten my hair and nails done here and I can say I’ll be coming back. The hairstylist helped me understand how to style my hair, and worked with me on the cut to make sure it’ll look good growing out. (It’s at an annoying intermediate stage between a pixie cut and a bob.) The prices are very reasonable, and while you’re waiting there are a ton of magazines and beverages to keep you occupied and satiated.

I have been here a couple of times to get full highlights done. Each time (and likely every time in the future if I can!) I have had Marisa do them, and she is wonderful! Super friendly, and she knows exactly what she is doing every time. Even when I had only been in 1 time, the next time I came in she remembered my name, color preference, a few tidbits that we chatted about the previous time… just those little extras makes the difference!
Oh and a perk from my very first visit… they gave me a bunch of discount cards for different services. Free eyebrow wax, $$ off my first hair cut, % off products, and a few random other things.

$ 99 Keratin Express Blo-​Out. When you’re expecting a humid, damp summer, do yourself a favor and invest in your hair. The price is right and the results are great.
My technician, Jessica, did a great job with my hair and managed to get my hair in top shape for a wedding the same evening.
Call ahead, especially for a weekend appointment, for the special and take advantage of the free garage parking next door.

It looks like most of the reviews here are for hair services, so I will be diverging from the pack as I review my massage.
Honestly, I just thought Zano was a salon and didn’t realize that they had spa services. But once I found out, I had to try them out. They’re located right in downtown Naperville so it’s a very convenient spot.
I was worried that the salon noise might bleed through to the treatment rooms, but the two areas were very well separated and the sound did not travel. However, the elevator, and the washroom (perhaps because of the drain in the floor?), did bear restaurant smells, presumably from Catch 35 (the restaurant downstairs); the spa itself did not have cooking smells, thankfully.
I had my massage with Lisa, who spent some time with me beforehand discussing my pain and tension issues; based on this, she did a great job with my massage. She had a really great «flow» of movement, so after a while the movement of limbs really began to feel like the ebb and flow of the ocean (it sounds weird until you are experiencing it). We had discussed the depth of pressure and she adhered to it admirably. She also incorporated a scented eye mask, heated pack on my back and fragrant but not cloying cream.
Overall, this was a restful yet definitely restorative massage; it was definitely not just about relaxation, but also about breaking up bad knots. It was nice that both aspects could occur in the same massage. I would certainly return to Lisa for this aspect alone; so often a deep tissue massage feels like «work,» but she created a good balance.
Zano was a nice setting (aside from the restaurant-​scented bathroom), with very friendly desk staff on the phone and when I arrived and departed.
I should also mention that the price listing on the website was a bit confusing; apparently massages start at a certain price and then depending on what level of technician they put you with, the price can be higher, and this wasn’t terribly clear to me, so the cost was a bit higher than I expected, since Lisa turned out to be a senior staff member (they just booked me with someone; I didn’t know anyone there, and they didn’t tell me their level, or that there was a difference in price). It wasn’t a big deal, but if you’re in doubt, you might want to inquire when you’re booking the appointment. It would have been nice to have known ahead.
Overall, for the convenient location and superb service, I will return to Zano and Lisa for future massage needs.
