Z-Tech of Naperville

I recently had my car rust proofed and undercoated. I was told that they were going to power wash the under carriage and apply a rust neutralizer before applying the undercoating. Not sure if this actually happened after inspecting the job it appears that they just sprayed over the dirt. They did such a sloppy job. I have overspray all over my exhaust system that still is burning off weeks later. Overspray all over my tires and wheels, so bad that it caused my tires to become unbalanced and had to replace all four tires. Two of my tires were old so not mad about changing two however two were new and probably can be salvaged but I chose to replace all 4 because wanted a matching set. I called and they offered to clean the overspray and redo any bad spots. I took my car to my local mech and put it on a lift to get a closer look. What I noticed was that no attempt was made to keep the undercoating off the exhaust system, tires, wheels, driveshaft, parking brake cables and springs and lower body trim pieces. I’m afraid to set the parking brake as it might not release. No care at all was taken to do a clean neat professional job. I would not recommend the undercoating process, a better product would be to clean and apply rust neutralizer and paint with a light coat of flat black paint and touch up as needed. I feel now that this company has trapped dirt and moisture under the undercoating and will actually make the car rust out quicker. Luckily this an older car and not too expensive so my loss is minimal in a monetary perspective. I can’t imagine if I brought a new car in to be protected and they did this I would be filing a law suit against them, yea the job is that bad.

Not thrilled that I was scheduled a of a Saturday 12:30 appt and upon arrival I’m quoted a longer than anticipated ETA because all the guys are at lunch. Not a well thought out approach & response especially considering we were stuck there waiting.

Made an appt and had crystalline tint installed on my car here. Crystalline is apparently more difficult to work with than other films, but Z Tech did an excellent job. They took me in on time and finished faster than estimated. Great customer service and comfortable waiting area too.

Brought a Bluetooth System in for them to install and I had an incorrect «harness» which is used to connect the system. Rather than making sure they were installing the correct parts they simply installed what I gave them and sent us on our way. We could no longer use the phone. When we called to let them know that their installation did not work, we were told, «there’s nothing we can do». Not very professional and would definitely not recommend!

Had the day off and called to see if they could get me in. It was no problem, in and out in less than 45 mins and everything looks good.

I was scared to use Ztech given all of the negative feedback but I was pleasantly surprised. I went in for 3M pro series paint protection and not only did they get me in quickly and do an amazing job installing it, but they were also the least expensive! My new car looks amazing and I’m very thankful I took a chance on ztech.

We returned a Penske truck to them after doing a cross country move due to the military. My husband accidentally left a hands free device in it. We went back as soon as they opened to retrieve it. The device was already gone. Spending $ 1200 was not enough to be treated kindly and not have our property stolen.
If you like your property do not leave it where they can get their greedy hands on it.

Had my new BMW tinted at this shop. The guys at the front desk were helpful and professional when I first came in. The quality of the tint material used is pretty good and there are virtually no visible gaps along the edges of the glass. I followed the instructions given on my invoice to a T, possibly even more cautiously as I didn’t roll the windows down for 10 days. However the first time I parked the car directly in the sun I noticed 2 very obvious scratches in the passenger-​side front glass. I immediately called Z-​tech and they refused to warranty the scratching and were apparently not interested in keeping my business or recommendations (I work for a local dealership and send my customers to preferred vendors). There is a stripping cost AND a full-​price re-​installation fee, which for a customer who has barely had their product for a week is borderline insulting. On top of the scratched tint, I noticed in my rear-​view mirror that my rear LED tail light housing (the one above the rear glass) was loose and hanging at an angle — it wasn’t fully or properly re-​installed to the headliner. If I were to hit a bump and the clips holding it to the headliner failed, it would have likely snapped wire connectors and caused further issues. The work seemed to be quality at first, but I would have to say, for the reputation Z-​Tech has in Naperville, the work was sloppy and the staff could seemingly care less about your business after you’ve picked up your vehicle. I had my scratching issue rectified with a company in nearby Warrenville that didn’t charge me to strip the poor quality work on the passenger side glass.

Had brought in my Nissan Rogue to get an all around tint done, ended up not getting the windshield because the price was almost as much as getting the rest of the car. But these guys did an amazing job! I got 5% for the car, does the job it needs to, the machine cut tints are perfect and looks like the car came from the factory with the tints. No bubbles or streaks. Although there was some debris from the tint process inside but no bigee. I was able to get my car 2.5 hours after dropping it off. Definitely will recommend this place for tints.

Awesome place. If you have a vehicle that you love and you really do not want to lose it to corrosion and rust this is the place to bring it to. The use 3m undercoating to seal your frame, wheel wells, and under body. This is probably going to extend the life of my vehicle for at least a decade as far as I’m concerned. My warranty expired and they’re going to extend the life of my vehicle for another four to five years minimum. Thanks guys

Dropped my car (’13 VW CC) off here within an hour of calling for an appointment, very friendly and accommodating. Opted for the 3M ceramic film for an extra $ 50 bucks (apparently allows better cell phone transmission and I use pandora frequently) They held onto my car for 9 days (no charge!!) since I was leaving the country the day after I dropped it off. When I picked it up, I made the payment after looking at the car, looked great BTW.
Only complaint is that the car was dirty and clearly had been leaned on, covered in dust, etc. which could have been an easy clean up. (Thank god I have free washes from my dealership and they are 30 seconds away!) Also, although I didn’t notice for a few days, it appears whoever was moving the vehicle nicked one of the wheels. Didn’t attempt to contact the shop as it had been days since it had been there and I have no proof it occurred at their shop while the car was in their possession, besides the fact that I don’t hit curbs, especially in a car I just purchased less than 2 months previous.
Regardless of this incident, I have told my dad to get his ’11 Jaguar XJ L Neiman Marcus Edition tinted here as it looks great on my car. I just let him know to get before pictures in the lot to have proof of any Z-​Tech caused damage as the car is 1 of 50 in the world!

I recently had my 2014 Chrysler 300s tinted at this location. That was a mistake. I went in and was quoted a price and time for them to complete. I agreed and asked if they would call when it’s done because I would leave and then comeback, they agreed. About 3 hours later I was driving past the store and my car was outside (they hadn’t called me). I went in and they said it was done. After a week I noticed gaps and bubbles on the rear window. In addition to that the passenger front window had a scratch in the tint (appeared to be from a squeegee). I went in and told them and they became annoyed they I even questioned them. One of the guys came out to look and told me the gaps are normal and the scratch was on the glass. I explained to the guy you could feel the scratch and he again repeated that it was the glass and it was impossible they would do that. They agreed to redo the rear window. It’s been over two weeks and the new tint they put on looks worse then the first time (picture added).
I was browsing their facebook page and saw a customer added a picture of his 2014 white Chrysler 300s. I sent him a message and he said his looks perfect and he had no gaps or bubbles in the rear window. This place will never get anymore of my business.

The old 540 was in desperate need of some UV protection-​apparently they don’t get a lot of sun in Deutschland and the black dash is a good idea there. Z-​Tech is convenient to the crib, so we checked them out.
The guy at the counter was super nice and most helpful, so we signed on for 3M’s best tint product. We were at about $ 850 all in.
Our problems started immediately after the three day curing period, and manifested in the form of large bubbles in the tint. I would also mention that the hood was left unlatched and a chip in the windshield mysteriously appeared (Z-​tech says it couldn’t have possibly been caused by them).
My wife returned the car and waited for 2 hours while they repaired the installation. That would have been OK if they offered something in the way of recompense, but they didn’t. I get the impression that all of the money is spent up front, where the sale is consummated, and the installation crew is lacking. We’ll see what happens.

I had a good experience at the Naperville Z-​tech. I got my Mercedes tinted and it looks great. I highly recommend going here. DJ was very helpful and accommodating. If you want your car tinted right come to this place. They make every effort in making sure you are satisfied.
They are experts at what they do and seem to be a business that cares about their customers.

don’t know why I haven’t reviewed the place before today. had 3 cars tinted here before, an ’08 Scion TC Sp Ed; ’10 Scion XD Sp Ed; and an older Toyota Prius. they informed us of the current condition of IL law re automotive tint and let us make the final decision from there. work was done quickly and cleanly. the first time the TC was completed I did notice the watermarks all up and down the inside of the doors. when I pointed it out they corrected it right away. later when the Prius was done, I noticed the very far back ‘mini’ window in the trunk was not done. they said on most Prius (why did ‘Priuses’ become the plural of Prius? they should have made it just ‘Prius’ like the word ‘sheep’) they leave it alone and had not received a lot of feedback it was a problem. I was good-​natured about and said, well I’m more anal-​retentive than my spouse and if I sit in the driver seat it’s the first thing I notice — the manager /​owner did exactly the same as me, agreed it was pretty noticeable, and they finished the work for free. we now live more than 1hr away otherwise they would be my first choice to tint my next car. minus 1 star for the two times I had to review the work and point things out in order for me to the 100% satisfied with the job. personally, I also wished doing the top 6inches of the front windshield cost less. but great job all around.

I have always had great work done here. Just had them do another paint protector coat and underbody. The work came out great. I have also had numerous cars tinted here and they have come out good except an issue with one window peeling. They fixed the issue and I was good to go.

Just had these guys tint my front side windows. Excellent service, price and speedy service. Took less than an hour! They were very helpful and provided excellent service. I would recommend them to any of my friends and family. Quality 3M product was used and looks fantastic!

Great place. I recently bought a car and wanted my windows tinted. I e-​mailed them to get a quote and they were able to squeez me in the following day even though they closed an hour after I was able to get there and the service usually took 2.5 hrs. The car looks amazing and I was very pleased with the fact that they were able to accomodate.
My boyfriend also gets his summer car detailed there and has been very happy every time he got it back from them.

Just got my 2013 BMW 335i m-​sport package tinted. They scheduled me same day, a few hours later, and my 3M tint (including the windshield 3M UV film) was completed. Great job, amazing results, and competitive prices.
My vote: Choose Z-​tech for their superior value.

I just got my Porsche Cayman S windows tinted from these guys. All around great experience. They took me in within 1 hour of contacting them and my car was done it just over 1 hour. Good people to do business with in my opinion. Though I’ve never priced out tinting before their price seemed fair and a friend verified that I got a good deal.
