Great class! They won’t waste your time. I learned a lot from Joe and Terry. At the end of the class I know everything about the law and how to conduct my self in a red situation. They also teach you how to be aware of your surroundings. I recommend that you should take this class weather you have been shooting for 20 plus years or if you have never shot a gun.

Great class and great instructors. Joe and Terry made the time fly by and provided good instruction throughout the 2 days. Took the class with my wife who doesn’t shoot and they made her feel comfortable and confident.

1. I thought this would be 8 hour classes of hard text book driven law education.
Instead WSCC makes it interactive. YES the training is THOROUGH and some of it is repetitive awareness and examples. PERFECT. They make it so it is interesting, interactive as a group, fun and educational.
2. I feared I couldn’t pass the range. They explain that and put everyone at ease the first 10 minutes of the class.
3. I feared I would misuse a gun.
Instead — I now feel like I can do conceal and carry with confidence .
This was a GREAT 2 day class and it goes by fast because Joe and Terry make it interesting and they involve the class .
You know what??? I am signing my wife and daughter up. even if my wife decides not to own a gun or carry it, there is so many great tips, awareness and examples in this class it kind of adds that self-​defense awareness and education that everyone should know.

If you are looking to take concealed carry classes, do not pass up West Suburban Concealed Carry! I have shot guns all my life until 15 years ago and they renewed my enthusiasm! Can’t wait to get back to the range already!
Beyond that, Joe and Terry’s approach to teaching the material was engaging and fun. They may be current law enforcement officers, but they kept the information at a non-​law enforcement level with real life scenarios. I wasn’t sure what to expect and that changed right away in the first class. Easy to understand presentation. They worked with us doing practical exercises along with our gun safety. You won’t walk out an expert marksman, nor should you come close to thinking you will, but you will feel better about handling a gun and that when seconds count you will be confident you learned what to do when in a situation that yours or your family’s life depended on it.
There were all different ages, all kinds of different careers and different levels of gun experience. Ladies, do not be intimidated– perfect place for you, whether you have zero experience or 20 years! No gun? No problem– they allow you to use theirs to qualify and had a dedicated instructor on that shooting lane at the range. They offered onsite electronic finger printing at a reasonable rate. In addition, if you are interested in also applying for your Florida permit, they provide you the entire FL application, take your picture for it and fingerprint you find it, at no extra charge.

This is a great class, and I highly recommend it to anyone that wants to learn how to protect themselves. I’ve never shot a gun before, and I thought it would be a good idea to actually be properly trained in case I ever want to own one. Joe and Terry were great instructors! The class was attended by 60+ people that ranged from never even holding a gun (me) all the way up to people with 10+ years of experience shooting. Joe and Terry made everyone feel comfortable, and covered everything from the basics of how to shoot, to the different types of guns and ammo, all the way up to all of the legal aspects of owning and carrying a gun. We did all types of practice exercises, and even went to the range to actually shoot and qualify for a concealed carry license if we wanted to apply for one. They also talked about how to avoid conflict so that you never have to use your gun in the first place, as well as what to do in the off chance that you actually have to use your gun and you end up shooting someone.
They are both highly trained police and SWAT team members, so they know their stuff! Heck, I’ve never even shot a gun before, and I hit the target at the range with 30 out of 30 shots, 8 of those bull’s eyes, so they know what they are doing. They teach you the basics of how to hold and shoot, how to draw from a holster, and even how to clear a jam in your gun. You also go through all sorts of different situations where you might be in danger or attacked, and how to best deal with them. All the while both Joe and Terry make it fun and educational.
Even if you aren’t going to own a gun, you’ll find this class very informational and thought provoking, and you’ll learn a bunch of common sense ways to avoid conflict and protect yourself in case you ever need to. I recommend this class to anyone that’s looking to learn anything from common sense ways to defend yourself and your home all the way up to people that want to get their concealed carry license. Take the class! You’ll have fun, learn something, and be glad that you did!

Great Class! The instructors Joe and Terry really know their stuff. The classroom is laid out efficiently, they provide bottled water, muffins and other snacks and there are plenty of perfectly timed breaks throughout the day. The state of IL requires a 16 hour course to obtain you CC permit, so I was prepared for a long boring class however there was nothing boring about it. This class is for anyone with ANY level of gun experience from no experience up to an expert marksman. I’ve been shooting and hunting since I was a teen and I learned a lot in this class. Sure, hunting and range work teach you how to use a gun in a controlled or semi-​controlled environment but this class will teach you how to handle yourself and your gun in a non-​controlled environment or code red situation. The instructors also spends a lot of time on the mental side of things as well as the legal/​law side of things. There is lots of role play for different scenrios and practice with drawing from a concealed or holstered gun placement. We also spent about two hours at a gun range to do our qualifying.
I have already talked a neighbor and a co-​worker into registering. I had the convenience of living only about 10 minutes away from their classroom location but this class is worth making a long trip for. You could even make a weekend out of it with some buddies or spouse. If you live a long way away from Naperville there are a dozen hotels in Naperville from economy to 5 star luxury, take the class during the day and head to one of the great restaurants I have reviewed in the Naperville area or do some shopping in beautiful downtown Naperville get a good night’s rest at a local hotel and the finish up the second day of your course.
I highly recommend West Suburban Concealed Carry to anyone thinking about getting their CC permit.

Absolutely fantastic organization, well trained, organized, and there is never a dull moment in this training. Joe and Terry are excellent instructors that give you real world scenarios coupled with on the job knowledge of how to handle yourself in almost any situation! While on the range safety first always multiple instructors on site full of patience and professionalism worked 60 people through required fire arm training in the blink of an eye and you always felt one on one attention and help for your questions. Overall an amazing class even if I decided not to conceal and carry I would recommend this class to any first time gun owner and for those of you that have shot for years your still going to learn a ton of information! Hats off to West Suburban!!!

Excellent class, the instructors were great. Both instructors are active police officers with a wealth of experience and knowledge. Even if you are not going to carry a weapon this class would be worth the money. They give you self defense, home defense and what to do when things go bad. Weather you are a novice or an avid shooter this class is for you. I would highly recommend this class to anyone who owns a gun.

They class was lead well. Proper grip and holster practices along with range time makes this class valuable to anyone who wants to get their CC. I took the two day course.
Instructors are active and retired police. They know the law and give you a lot of real life situations that give you the ability to understand Illinois CC laws.

Great class. Great instructors. Would have liked to seen more real life examples of good shoots vs bad shoots in the eyes of the law.
They did have a lawyer come in and go over the legal side of the laws which was great.
If you want to carry you need to take this class.

I can not recommend Joe and Dave’s class highly enough. It was an enjoyable and highly informative experience. I’ve been holding off on getting my CCL for some time. I was recommended to other course carriers, but heard mixed reviews. These guys came highly touted, and rightfully so. I found their overall knowledge, and particularly patience, to be above my expectations. I’ve shot firearms for well over 3 decades and came away learning more than I was hoping for. Kudos guys, keep up the great work!

The class was excellent and well organized. Joe and Dave were very informative and down to earth. Even though they are very knowledgeable and law enforcement officers, they don’t speak down to you which I really appreciated. They provided all the documentation and instructions on how to complete the registration for Illinois and Florida. I highly recommend this class to anyone looking to get their CCW.

Terry and Joe were fantastic!
The first day of the class is spent in the classroom learning about how to respond to different scenarios and how to draw your weapon. Having the various scenarios and safety tips was very helpful. They also talk about how to hold your weapon and grip it. The second day of the class is spent between the range and in class. In class you review the law. At the range you are qualifying. If you have not really shot a handgun before, I’d recommend going to the range, or getting an introduction to hand guns/​pistols class under your belt. They do have other staff on hand at the range though to offer tips and advice to help you.
Even if you don’t plan to conceal carry, but want to protect your home and family, I think this class is extremely beneficial. The class is set at a good pace and you are never bored. It definitely got me thinking about various scenarios in a new light!

This class was very informative and simple and also fun, so the 16 hours flied by. joe and Terry were a good contrast with each other and I feel that the way I hold a gun and the different methods of drawing that they drilled were of high quality.
The law part was also straight and to the point and I felt well-​versed in the law regarding the important points that I need to know and what to do in various situations.

Joe and Terry were very professional and brought a wealth of experience to this important topic. Having the input, and perspective, of law enforcement officers is priceless when discussing the issue of concealed carry. I highly recommend this course to anyone considering carrying a concealed weapon. Don’t cheat yourself by going to lower quality programs. These guys will get you knowledgeable and prepared!

This class was great. They had snacks and coffee for everyone the entire time. The class had about 40 people in it but they found the time to answer everyone’s questions. The instructors are Joe and terry who are both cops and They give you real world advice not just text book. I was amazed he gave everyone his cell number if we needed any further assistance. They make it so easy to submit the application (like taking you finger prints for Florida and Illinois during class). The 16 hours seemed to go by fast. Bottom line I would definitely recommend and I will be coming back for an advanced class

This course is taught by two excellent instructors, both active law enforcement with loads of prior training experience, and it shows. They keep the class interesting and engaging, and it’s really a lot of fun. This course is also one of the most affordable in the area, especially if you use their two-​person coupon deal and go with a buddy or spouse.
They make no assumptions about your prior experience, and don’t require you to have or bring your own equipment. Classroom exercises use orange training firearms, and the qualification can be done using their 22 pistol. You certainly can and should use your own if you’re able, but I thought it was great that they made the class so accessible for newcomers. Some in our class had never held or fired a weapon before.
Their class covers everything you need for an IL concealed carry permit (except state fees and optional fingerprint fees), as well as for the Florida permit to get reciprocity in 11 additional states.
If you’re considering taking a concealed carry course, you can’t go wrong here. I have no problems recommending this class to anyone.
