Timeless Spa and Salt Cave

This place is cute. I enjoyed the salt cave. It’s great for meditation and relaxation or even a nap. The lawn chairs seem a bit odd, even tacky, until you lay back and realize it’s so comfy! The ceiling is so cool with optic lights. I want one of these at home! I had reiki and wasn’t impressed. The staff is friendly. I wish the waiting area was a dim sitting area with hot tea. It’s so bright that is doesn’t feel like a spa. But all in all its good. If you live close by then try it. I wouldn’t go out of the way for it.

I had some correspondence with this place before booking an appointment and they were kind and helpful. When we arrived for our appointment, I felt as if we had interrupted something.
We left our things in a closet (something a little more secure would have been nice — I would have left my things in the car but one of my doors isn’t hooked up and won’t lock, but that’s another story) and we went into the salt cave.
It was quiet and very dim. It was a great place to take a nap. We lightly slept for a bit, then laid quietly until a recorded man’s voice said, «welcome back.» It was a little alarming but not terrible.
It was $ 25 for a session. I can’t say I felt anything during or after and I can’t say I would go back again unless there was a discount. Nice idea though!

Very restful experience. I have gone several times. Love the staff. I have booked the room as a thank you for business partners. I enjoyed taking them in a group. It was something unique and restful.

Timeless Spa and Salt Cave is an AMAZING sanctuary where you can spoil yourself, heal your body and spirit and take classes to exercise your mind, body and spirit.
The salt cave is therapeutic and truly relaxing; one of the few places I am able to quiet my mind and truly relax. In addition to the wonderful salt cave, Timeless offers the traditional spa services, as well as many healing and spiritual services.
«Magnet» Michelle is simply stellar. Why suffer with joint pain when you don’t have to? Bozi and Ania are truly angels that will uplift your spirit and soul. Connie’s magic hands will work out knots you didn’t even know you had. The facials and anti-​aging treatments are divine. The Zen bed pure heaven. And that is just a small sampling of the services available. All of their practitioners are first class and love what they do which shines through.
Be sure to attend their next open house on Sunday, October 18^th. The Open House features 20 minute mini sessions which is a great way to try something new. My first open house I booked a few treatments in advance and then in between the sessions after speaking with others, I signed up for more!
Some other reviews mentioned that the staff was very busy. Yes, that happens when you come for a group session in the Salt Cave. There are several people and many come just minutes prior to the beginning of a session, which is fine but busy. That is the nature of a group experience. This does not diminish the benefits of a salt cave session, nor does it mean the staff is not caring. It’s a busy place with good reason, the cave is amazing! I have had many lovely salt cave sessions and everyone was respectful of each other’s time in the cave. So please don’t let other reviews keep you from trying such a great place.
Most importantly, whenever I go to Timeless, I feel happy. There are no facades or trying to appear uppity. I can be my comfy no make-​up self and enjoy the company of truly wonderful, genuine caring people thanks to Jody (the owner). Jodi is literally an angel who draws equally amazing angels to her business to make our lives brighter and better.

Outside of a margarita or soft pretzel, I never thought I would enjoy salt so much.
I was brought here against my will by my father, a frequent salt caver, and although it was not my choosing to visit, I was glad to have gone. It’s not that I didn’t want to go, I just had never considered it; my mistake.
We arrived early for our appointment, so my dad handed me a fresh pair of white socks, and gave me the rundown as we waited. We also viewed all the holistic healing remedies and various gems & minerals which were pretty interesting to see.
When the group ahead of us emerged from the cave half asleep, we were ushered in to find chairs and blankets awaiting our arrival, and soothing sounds to set the tone. The cave was very dark (of course) but it was still relatively well lit & soothing. As our eyes adjusted to the dim room, the instructional voice over began it’s spiel & faux stars flickered on the ceiling; I about half expected one to shoot across the ‘sky’.
The overall experience is really quite relaxing, but I found it difficult to not concentrate on every small sound, and kept instinctually checking the ceiling for satellites. I think next time, I’ll know to expect incomplete silence, and remind myself I’m not looking at the actual night sky, I’ll then be able to delve deeper into my relaxation. (I also kept checking the walls and wondering how they made the cave & how I can make one at home… don’t do this either)
Not being a ‘spa person’ I’m still surprised, but I wont question it. At the of the day, I’m grateful my dad brought me to the cave, and look forward to checking out the other services they offer.

I purchased the salt cave session on group on while looking for things to do during a visit to the chicago area. I read up about salt caves and thought, why not give it a try, it seems like it could be relaxing and beneficial to my health.
This place has a small parking lot and is located next to a motel. If you miss the turn for the cave’s parking lot and park in the motel’s there is a sign that says move your car to the cave’s lot because the motel will tow your car!
When I entered the lobby there was all sorts of things you could purchase. I went straight to the desk and signed in. The sessions start at the top of the hour every hour. I was a couple of minutes late but the receptionist said I could go right in and the worker who was already there would help me out. The receptionist showed me to a closet where I could hang my coat and leave my shoes (and every other personal belonging I had e.g. purse, wallet, phone). I entered the room and everyone was already laying down on their chairs with a blanket on them. The lady who was in the room just told me to sit down and gave me a blanket then left. Umm. ok thanks, I’m in a dark room, my first time at this place, and I don’t know what I’m supposed to do. The lights dim and there are faint glows coming from the salt stones on the walls and the fake lights on the ceiling that mimic stars. Then the music starts… So there I am, sitting straight up on my chair with a blanket while everyone else is reclined and seems comfy. It took me awhile to figure out how to recline my chair, and when I did, it was so squeaky I was sure someone was going to yell at me for ruining their session. Once I was situated, I took in the sky twinkling lights and mood music. I took long deep breaths, expecting the salt smell to hit me, but it never did. There were people snoring during the session, which is good for them because they got so relaxed they fell asleep, but it was annoying for me. The session lasted 45 minutes. The room could probably fit 10 people at a time. The music fades and a voice comes on to ‘gently’ wake you and the lights turn back on. Then everyone just walks out of the room that has big salt grains on the floor with beach loungers as chairs. I wasn’t sold on this salt cave, but hey I gave it a try.

I always thought Timeless looked like a dark, creepy, happy ending kind of place, but when I saw a Groupon for the salt cave, I thought it sounded interesting. After all, how can I drive past here every day and not consider checking it out?
The staff I’ve encountered are friendly but not overly attentive. I had no trouble scheduling an appointment.
When I arrived for my first session on a Saturday morning, the parking lot was almost full. A sign on the door read, «Quiet — Salt Cave Session in Progress.» When I opened the door, it was a clusterfuck of about 15 women all clucking like wild hens that don’t get out much. So much for quiet, eh?
I tried to check in at the front desk. They had lost my appointment. The girl was apologetic and said she could try to get me in with the big group (the hens). Um, no. I was upfront about it and said I didn’t want to be in there with the group. They let me reschedule without any hesitation. It’s obvious that the Queen Bee of Naper Moms called up to book her gal pals a spa party — so my name got erased off the books. The other lady working here was super apologetic and gave me a coupon for a free salt cave session. As much as this gesture is appreciated, I still had TWO other sessions to use that I’d purchased. I didn’t even know if I was going to LIKE this. I rescheduled for the following Saturday.
My first official salt cave session impression: When I arrived, the staff was very busy. They don’t take time to acknowledge you. The waiting area was hectic.
The salt café itself is relaxing. It’s a nice way to de-​stress after a day at work. But I think a nap would have the same results.
My second salt cave session was OK. I was running a little late. I called to let them know, but they start on the hour and do not wait. Understandable since this is done in a group fashion. There was some weirdos in here pacing around and making noise during the session though.
The short version: if you want to try something new, why not? I would not pay full price or do this regularly though. I’m not sure there are any real health benefits, but I did feel relaxed afterwards. This location does not have a real «luxury spa» vibe, so don’t expect the royal treatment.
Oh, that free session? I probably won’t use it since I’m clearly too intolerant of the annoying groups in there.

Is quite sad that reviews dating back to 2007 are being echoed in the most recent reviews to date. I thought perhaps I was being extra sensitive to the vibe I felt upon arrival. Nothing warm or personable whatsoever. You do feel as though your interrupting or intrusive upon arrival, exploring their wares etc. Don’t let the door hit ya on the behind… no thank you come again…

I have only been to the salt cave here a few times. It is an amazing experience and at that time the only one I knew of in the area. The salt cave is a profound experience, but I have to say there are several reasons I would NOT go back here. Luckily there are now options closer to me as other salt caves have cropped up. First off, the owner is snippy and an abrupt person which directly conflicts with what the environment is suggested to be. I brought my special needs daughter who is very tactile, sensory, and has ADHD. It was very healing and we were the only two in the cave. This was bought as a xmas gift for us. The opening tape tells you to walk around and feel the salt do acupressure on your feet. We then lay on the salt rock floor to maximize the experience. Also the gravity chairs were not comfortable to us and since no one else was there we didn’t think it would be a problem. I had also seen that they do yoga in the cave here so would have no way of knowing this was ‘forbidden’. So more than half way into our time, the owner abruptly barges in and tells us we have to ‘stay in our chairs’. It was a creepy feeling because I had NO idea they had a camera inside the cave. It was disturbing to know they were watching us. A few minutes later, my daughter (who was having trouble sitting still) went to touch the side of the salt cave wall that was lit up. The owner comes in again within seconds to tell her to sit down. My daughter was officially DONE with the experience at that point as no one likes to feel chastised. I’m sure they have their rules for a reason and it is all probably posted someone in the paperwork you sign but i doubt many people read it over with the eyes of a lawyer. I would NEVER feel comfortable being watched on a camera. The owner says it is for liability reasons in case someone gets hurt inside the cave. This is a far fetched idea I have no clue how someone could get hurt walking in several feet of wonderful salt. So for those reasons, i would never go back here and people should know they are being watched on video!!!

I just wanted to let everyone know I contacted the BBB in regards to my complaint below about my refund and the manager continued to argue with me the WHOLE time instead of doing what a good manager does and rectify the situation and return my money. I was the one who closed the case because I was tired of hearing her act like she was the victim accusing me of trying to hurt her business. Nope, I am just letting the public know the truth about your crappy policies and how you values your customers.

I went to the spa and purchased a special they had going on for Lipo-​lite and thermo jet sessions. Well, I never used them and tried to get a refund and apparently they don’t do refunds here! No where in their store does it state anything about no refunds. Only online in the about us section at the very bottom. I personally think its BS — for me to spend $ 225 on services not used and the owner tells me she can’t issue a refund. Maybe they don’t give refunds because their services are crap and don’t work. I will NEVER come back here again and spend another dime and Unilocal and word of mouth is so important to a business and I told her she would lose me as a customer and she was totally okay with it. For a business to not value their customers shows a lot about the business itself and its values. If the owner was smart she would have a different policy — it is not about keeping peoples money its about customers and keeping them happy to come back and spend money at your business. Without customers your business is nothing.

I really enjoy going to Timeless. I’ve experienced just about everything they offer. Reiki with Connie is great. One of my favorite is Akashic records by Ania. If you are looking for answers and just want to know what the future holds, I highly recommend this service. Lastly, if you want a place to meditate, try their himalyan salt cave. Great experience all around.

RUDE! RUDE! RUDE! These are the rudest people ever! I’ve gone to this spa off and on ever since they opened and they have gotten ruder over time. The last time I went, about a month ago, was the worst though. When you book a salt cave, you are told to get there 15 minutes early. I booked a salt cave for 1 p.m. Due to traffic, I didn’t get there until 12:55 … still a full five minutes before my appointment time! Nonetheless, I was given a dressing down by the owner, Jody. She was very condescending and disrespectful. I went into the salt cave … once again, five minutes BEFORE my 1 p.m. appointment … feeling like I was ready to cry. The whole time I was in there, I was seething with anger and humiliation. Needless to say, it was not relaxing in the least. They are snappy on the phone and nasty in person. Once in a great while, you get someone who is actually nice, but that’s not the norm. They are just so not worth it, not with growing competition from other spas and King Spa in Niles and Galos Caves in Chicago. I will take my money to other spas who value my business.
Maybe if you are buying pricier services such as massages or time on their zen bed or if you are purchasing one of their WAY overpriced salt lamps or the supposedly «sacred» naked tree branches they are currently selling for $ 150 each, they are nicer to you. I’ll never know. Even if I won the lottery tomorrow, I wouldn’t spend one more penny in that joint. King Spa in Niles has a salt cave too which you can sit in all day for the same price and you can buy the same $ 100 salt lamps on Amazon for $ 29 (which get great reviews for their effectiveness by the way). These people are getting rich on all the suckers out there who don’t do their homework and shop around. So be it though. If that was just the case, maybe I’d still go, but being treated so rudely on top of it all is just too much. There is just no excuse for it. Like I said earlier, they are SO not worth it, especially not when you have so many other options for the very same services.

Love Timeless Spa and Salt Cave. Have been going/​using the Salt Cave for years. Its a very relaxing experience and I have recommended sessions to friends. Its nice to see that they have an abundance of treatments and events to enjoy. I’ll be trying Thermojet very soon :). If you looking for something different, Timeless is the place to check out!

Reviewing only for the 1-​hr massage I had this past weekend, NOT the salt cave of which I have not seen or experienced.
So here’s the thing. I’m a spa snob. Southern California runs deep in my blood and places in strip malls generally get a thumbs-​down.
Except, this place is next to a no-​name motel and a discount grocery store and it gets FIVE STARS.
I really wanted to give four stars because there is no relaxation room with fancy waters and teas and a bathroom to use complimentary salt scrubs and lotions… but because the massage was so killer, I MUST give five stars.
They have water in the front and a nice waiting room to sit in, but it’s near the service desk and staring at the ever-​so-​not-​relaxing, Ogden Avenue.
But once I was walked back by one of the best massage therapists I’ve ever had (at least 2−3/year for about 10 years?), I forgot about all that. The room was nice, quiet, clean, modern, and the bed was nice and warm. Even some of the nicest spas I’ve been to did not have warm beds. Definitely a requirement.
I said I wanted a medium to hard massage and that’s exactly what I got. Debbie rocked. So much, that for the first time ever, I will probably remain loyal to someone in the service industry and go back to her! I don’t have a hair lady or nail lady or anything like that. It’s not the way I am… but this masseuse knew her stuff and truly seemed to care and love her job.
Go see Debbie and get a rockin’ massage for $ 90!

Enjoying my first Lady’s Night! There so much excitement and energy! Every time I visit Timeless, I feel relaxed and reenergized! My favorite was when I treated myself for my Birthday! A full day, zen bed, salt cave, facial, massage! Maybe suggest a light lunch for a day of relaxation!

I really enjoyed the salt cave. It was nice and relaxing and they give you a blanket. I’m one to always be cold so it came in handy. The room was beautiful once they turned the lights off. The whole experience was very relaxing. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed it and plan to go back soon with a few friends.
Try your best to show up early the parking lot is small. I’ve gone before 12 and never had any issues after 1 is when everyone starts to show up.

I don’t think I will go back. I don’t have any really specific complaints. there were just a lot of little things that made the whole pretty unimpressive to me. To be honest, I thought the transitioning into mediation time and out of was pretty abrupt. I didn’t find the chairs that comfy. It was still a fine excuse to get together with friends though. but like others mentioned you can’t really talk in there. I dunno. meh. The salt is definitely strong.

You sit on lawn chairs on a floor filled with salt, and listen to «relaxing» music. Don’t plan to chat with a friend, you aren’t allowed to talk. A nap at home would have been as relaxing as this nutty place. Skip the salt cave :)

I attended a Salt Cave session and it was a treat. You go in with your shoes off, you kick back in a comfortable lounger/​recliner, the lights dim, and the staff is cool with you nudging those that may snore during your session (it happened, and, thankfully, the guy wasn’t a jerk during or after the act — his wife was a bit embarrassed, though).
You really can’t go wrong in the Salt Cave, especially if you’re lacking for a calm, quiet environment to relax in. I’m looking forward to going back sooner not later.

I made a last minute apt for a facial. I was glad they could fit me in but I wasn’t pleased with the facial. I’ve gone to students who have given better facials. First, I arrived at 5:20pm and was out by 6:10… so I don’t think I even got a 45 min facial by the time you add up getting ready and then dressed again at the end. I had the timeless facial which says it comes with a skin analysis and customized facial. She never asked me about customizing it and she didn’t analyze my skin. The room was too dark for her to even notice anything on my face! For 100 $ it wasn’t worth it at all! I wouldn’t go back and don’t recommend to come here for a facial.
