Worst customer service! I am incredibly disappointed with the lack of response and care I received. I was referred here by my Gynecologist. After my initial consultation in Naperville, IL I called several times to inquire if my procedure would be coved by insurance due to the nature and discomfort of my issue and then schedule the surgery but nobody would return my call. Every time I would call back I would have to re-​explain my issue. Each time they said they would look into it and call me back. It took months before they called me back to inform me that it would not be covered by insurance because the doctor was unwilling to do the procedure for the money they would receive from insurance. Plus I would have to drive out to Davenport — there is a reason why I went to the Naperville office. Had I known earlier I would’ve gone to another doctor and gotten it taken care of but instead I was strung along for months with the expectation they would get back to me. Then months later they have the audacity to bill me over $ 300 for the initial consultation that was supposed to be covered by insurance.

I was referred here by a nurse practitioner at TakeCare Clinic. She raved about how spa-​like and wonderful this place was, and how wonderful Dr. Wright was. Well, they seem to have spent all their effort into making the place seem like a spa, and ZERO effort into customer care and service. My first appointment was for an annual exam, and I wanted to discuss getting an IUD. I was basically given the brush off on getting the IUD, and only given a refill for my current birth control. The person I saw also cut me while doing my pap smear, and I bled for the whole rest of the day. NEVER have had that happened in the last fifteen plus years. I asked again at the front desk about the IUD, and was told I’d have to come back for a pelvic exam first, so I made that appointment and was told they would contact my insurance to make sure it was covered, and order the device. I came in for pelvic exam, and the woman performing it was absolutely awful. Another woman came in when the first one was having trouble, and did the whole thing again, and was SO rough, I thought I was going to cry. She then had the first woman perform the entire exam AGAIN. Only AFTER THREE PELVIC EXAMS, was I told that the first woman was new, and did I mind her learning with me. UH, YES, and maybe you should have asked BEFORE bludgeoning me three times in the lady parts. I had to make another appointment to have the IUD placed, and was told again that they had to call my insurance and order the device first. I called prior to my appointment to make sure everything was good with the insurance, and they had never even called them, so I had to reschedule. I finally came in for my appointment for the IUD placement, and was kept waiting an hour after my appointment time before I was even taken in to the room. After being checked in, I sat for another half hour waiting for the doctor. Only then was I told that I should have been given a pill to dilate my cervix, and make the procedure easier. I was also only told at this time that there was a device coming out in two months that was specifically for women who haven’t given birth, that would be more effective, and less painful. Of course, neither of those mattered to them, so they went ahead with the procedure anyway «since I was already there.» The procedure was agonizingly painful to the point where I was in tears, and about to pass out. They brought me a glass of water, and some pain pills, and then left the room, and I never saw the Dr. or nurses again. I was told I needed to make a follow up appointment, but I was in so much agony that I told them I’d do it later. Somehow I managed to drive myself home (because nobody ever bothered to tell me I would need someone to do that for me), and was in utter agony for the next 24 hours. My husband had to come home from work to take care of me. He called the doctor’s office to see if my pain level was normal, but of course, they were gone for the day. Nobody ever called to see how I was doing, even thought they all saw how much pain I was in. I’ve left other practices because of poor customer service, but this was BY FAR the worst experience I have ever had with a doctor, and will absolutely NEVER go back here, or refer anyone to them. If you want a spa like experience while you wait (and you WILL wait — none of the three appointments I had there were ever on time) — that’s all you’ll get here. The care, and service is GOD AWFUL.

Starting from the ladies at the front desk that will greet you with a smile and ask you if you like a drink. You will then be seated in a beautiful waiting room. Then you are taken to the room were you see Dr. Wright. Dr. Wright is awesome and is very easy to talk to and will talk you through any procedure or the what if or what can be done. She is always on point and amazing. I just went through a hysterectomy and other procedures. I didn’t have any problems and she did it all by laser. It was amazing. She is amazing and caring. She also worked with Dr. Furlong which is also very amazing! I had a 12lb baby a couple of years ago and had stretched all my muscles from the back to my front (down there). I had gone to see several great doctors because I couldn’t control my bowel from coming out.
Well to make this a long story short. Dr. Furlong fixed this issue when Dr. Wright did my hysterectomy. Everything was a success! This problem and my tumor were all taken care of at once. I thank these two wonderful and dedicated ladies to a JOB WELL DONE!
And just to believe this all started from a friend Michele Flores recommending me to Dr. Wright’s facebook and winning a Cooper Hawk gift card.

Dr. Wright incorrectly diagnosed me with a very serious condition during pregnancy and her diagnosis was based on a completely faulty reading of an ultrasound that VERY clearly, to other professionals, did not indicate the serious condition whatsoever. Once I understood more about the condition (after researching in a complete panic), I could also easily see how faulty the diagnosis was. Based on the experience, I feel as if her knowledge and abilities are limited.
I will add that she is very friendly and personable. And as a surgeon, she is wonderful. My c-​section experiences with her from previous pregnancies were amazing and «easy» as those things go. I think surgery is her calling.

I do not like writing a negative review. I know that it does impact people’s decision on where to go for service — which I guess is the point. It has been maybe 2 or more years now… and… Always know — service providers can and often do improve… but, I feel I am finally ready to tell my story.
After my regular physician found a cyst that she felt I should see a specialist for removal, I chose the Wright Center because of the positive reviews i had read… although — knowing timeliness may be an issue. The Dr is super personable and nice — so is the entire staff that I had contact with! After the initial visit — I had to return for removal. Removal seemed simple enough.
And then — I got home. I bled. A lot. So – not knowing if this was normal. I called — and even though it was during her regular business hours — I could get no answer and was transferred to the «on call» doctor who I believe is supposed to really be for those after-​hours emergencies. I was relieved to talk to someone to tell me what to look for. After bleeding more than what I was told was normal — HUGE clots and such — it was advised to go to emergency room since Dr Wright could not be reached.
It seemed like everyone in the ER was «up in my crotch» — i just don’t know how else to say it :/​They tried all kinds of things — including cauterizing and ?? They could not get it to stop — i was sent home with a tampon in and told to lie down and see if the bleeding would stop. At 3 AM — I awoke in a pool of blood… I was SO scared. I am a really healthy woman — you know the eat organics and exercise type! My fiancé drove me to the emergency room… where once again — hours of everyone «in there» and no one solving the problem. They suggested I go back to The Wright Center — they had equipment there for an issue like this. I was very scared to return…
So – after her work day was over — I was taken into a room where they explored with a camera and discovered the problem. The stalk of the cyst had been left (so — cyst had not been completely removed). The Dr and whole staff were kind and sensitive to my ordeal. The Dr was talented and skilled with removing the final piece. I realize that «doctoring» is not a perfect science — and the stalk being left may be something beyond my scope of understanding difficulties in removing cysts. BUT — I do wish she would have been available before I ended up in an emergency room.
That whole experience was traumatizing and so so costly. At the time, I was a divorced mom — with a part-​time college instructor position… and my bill was close to $ 4,000 for each ER visit (my insurance wld be paying $ 75 of each visit — insulting!) The Wright center said that their bill should be around $ 4,000 as well (if I remember correctly) — but — they took it down a few thousand for me. So – around $ 9,000 in medical bills for a healthy person… about ¹⁄₃ of my total income at the time!!! I remember thinking… i can’t afford to get something more serious like cancer.
I found a new Dr… but, the first time I was brave enough to go back to a gynecologist. I ended up crying as I was signing in… it all came flooding back.

UPDATE:
First and foremost, I want to preface this review with why I am updating the Wright Center for Women’s Health to 3 stars out of 5 instead of my initial 5 out of 5 stars.
Dr. Wright is an AMAZING doctor, and if it isn’t for the center’s lack of organization — especially in the billing department, I would continue to go to see Dr. Wright. It’s unfortunate how many billing issues have come up, and how extremely unorganized the front office is.
I have referred several friends and strangers to this facility over the past few years, but we all have encountered billing issues — big and small. Dorothy has been very helpful, and I am grateful for her assistance with my most recent billing issue, but other than that, I don’t see myself returning to this facility.
—I have an endless list of positive things to say about Dr. Wright. Where shall I begin?
First and foremost, I have never come across a gynecologist I feel 1000% comfortable with. Not only is she a welcoming, warm soul; she genuinely cares for your well-​being from head to toe.
I was so blessed to get an appointment with Dr. Wright for a 2^nd opinion last minute due to some major lower abdomen pain. (A huge thank you to the person who happened to cancel their appointment & her all-​star staff for catering to my «sense of urgency» mode!)
She granted me my wishes and started off with more of a natural approach to help me feel better, but when my pain became too much to handle, she wasted no time getting me into surgery on my husband and my 1 year wedding anniversary.
Dr. Wright is truly knowledgeable and is always willing to hear you out on any concerns you may have — major or minor. I could not have asked for a more caring, professional, gentle and amazing person to operate on me, and I am forever grateful to/​for her.
If I could give Dr. Kimberly Wright at The Wright Center for Women’s Health 100 stars, I would!
