Dr. V used to be my general. I will miss him! He always cared about his patients and not the $. I recently had two root canaled molars that I never capped get infected. I needed immediate help. Smile Designers was absolutely amazing! With in one day of a call I had an appt, antibiotics and before the end of the week I had the whole surgery completed! The assistant was super sweet and gentle and Dr. Smulson was professional and calming. Not once was I made to feel uncomfortable or nervous. I honestly don’t think I would go anywhere else if I had to do it again. This team seriously rocks. Once again — patient care. It’s not something that all these new offices practice. This place isn’t there for the $ — they actually care. Don’t waste your time at the bigger practices where you are a number. Go here. It’s worth it!

I was referred here by my dentist for deep cleaning. I called and spoke to a Priscilla. She said she would call my insurance and call me back with my out of pocket expense and set up an appointment. 2 weeks passed and nothing happened so I called back. I spoke with Priscilla again. At first she didn’t remember our conversation but by the end of the call she was starting to remember and apologized for not calling back. I said, don’t worry, everyone makes mistakes. She promised to call right back with the same information I requested initially and to set up an appointment. That was 3 weeks ago and no call back.
This is not a hair salon appointment, this concerns someone’s health and to be treated so poorly by such an incompetent employee suggests that you should not be doing business with a dental office who allows this to happen.

I was a patient of Dr. Alan Villanueva for a few years and never had a problem with appointments. I found out that he passed away and there was a new Dr. So when I went there for my appointment for evaluation I was given another time to come in to have the work done. 15hours before my appointment I was informed it was canceled because the Dr. had an emergency. I was rescheduled a week later that too was canceled because the Dr. was sick and that I would be called with another appointment. I never was called, my phone calls never returned, left me wondering what was going on and had to find another dentist.

I agree w many posts. Dr Smulson is fantastic He removed our son’s 4 wisdom teeth in expert fashion. He also eased his worry w his book that he actually authored! Explained everything to me and is kind

Disclaimer: I’m writing this review on behalf of my parents who aren’t really Unilocalers, but wanted to share their experience.
My parents have quite the collection of teeth/​gum issues, so they have an extensive history of visiting a lot of dentists. Still, my dad said they gave him the best teeth cleaning he’s ever had, and my mom was grateful that they discovered and fixed a problem with the roots of her teeth that no one else mentioned before. After ~5 visits each, they insist that this is the best dentist/​hygienist they’ve come across.
(I would check them out myself, but I live about an hour away, so it’s not really convenient for me.)

I was shocked at the mixed reviews, so I wanted to get it straight (at least from my personal experience). I had all four of my wisdom teeth extracted yesterday morning (day before Thanksgiving) and today, I am back at eating solids. He was quick, professional and friendly. After my surgery, he sat down my husband and walked through all steps needed to make sure my recovery was speedy. Just follow all the steps and you’ll be OK. Making appointments and follow ups was a breeze, Vivian, the receptionist, was also very friendly. Highly recommended.

Dr. Smulson extracted our son’s four wisdom teeth Friday morning and our son was back at high school on Monday morning. We found Dr. Smulson and his staff to be professional and courteous. The procedure required 2 visits: the first visit Dr. Smulson examined the X-​rays that our dentist had faxed to his office, Ben’s mouth, and he also removed the 4 wisdom teeth. The 2^nd visit, one week later, was a follow up to make sure Ben was healing properly. After examining the X-​ray and our son’s mouth, sensing our son was nervous about the procedure, Dr. Smulson handed him a book saying, «You can look at my book.» He walked out of the office to prepare for the surgery. The photos in the book of a cat doing human things was hilarious and really took the edge off our son’s nervousness. Closer inspection of the book revealed that Dr. Smulson is the author of the book! His staff was kind, reassuring and helpful. We were given the option of general or local anesthesia. The fee for the procedure was fair. It was a positive experience.

My issue with this office is that no one ever answers the phone. I’ve made 3 appointments in the past 6 months and 2 of 3 times was a complete hassle. The first time, I called and left a message. When I didn’t get a call back, I did the online appointment. I got a call about 4 days later. This is irritating when you’re trying to keep a family’s schedule running smoothly. Answer the dang phone!
I’m not sure what the problem is. I’ve been the office and there is typically two or three girls working the phones and computers and none of them look swamped with work.
Otherwise, it’s a clean office and the dental assistants are nice. This is one of the offices on our insurance and it’s close; otherwise, I’d go elsewhere.

this place is a scam… be warned! they send bills without service.

I came to Dr. Smulson’s office because he was one of the doctors that is covered under my insurance. I read some reviews from other doctors listed but I choose this office because you can pretty much get your extractions taken care of the day of your consultation — simple as that. Other places, you have to get evaluated then set up another appointment. It is hard to find a review for this place, so here I am:
Dr. Paul Smulson extracted 3 wisdom teeth for me — and despite being something I did not want to get done but had to do —and was fairly nervous — I had an overall good experience after all.
His staff is nice and professional and helpful. No mean receptionists.
My recovery went smoothly. My husband was given a sheet with instructions as far as Do’s and Don’ts and instructions on when to take the medications that were given to me. 1 — pain killers 2 — inflammation pill 3 — antibiotics.
I had no complications whatsoever.
Dr. Smulson is very professional, nice, and really cares about his patients.
Will definitely bring my daughter here when its her turn to get her wisdom teeth extracted.
