Players Indoor Sports Center

Stefania and Nick were great hosts. They were super fun with the kids and tried to include all of the kids. When a couple of kids were hesitant about playing the sports, Stefania tried to encourage them to play and offered to change the game to freeze tag to try to encourage more kids to go on the field. Nick and Stefania were super active with the kids, and never seemed to lose energy on the field with them!
The experience would have been perfect if not for the pretzels. They were super hard and covered in giant salt. I would definitely NOT recommend the pretzels, although the slushies were a big hit with the kids. Perhaps slushies could be paired with something a bit more appetizing? (We didn’t want pizza or hot dogs because we just wanted a snack at that time of day.) A healthier option (sandwiches, etc.) would have been better after an active party as well.

I bought a groupon to play bubble soccer for 12. The referee was accommodating and taught us new games. I was a little disappointed that there were only 11 adult sized bubbles and one of us had to use a youth bubble which was uncomfortable.

We threw a birthday party for my 9 yr old at Players Indoor sports. The staff was wonderful and Tyler did a fantastic job hosting the party. He passed out food and drinks, cut the cake and served it, keep kids interested in the sports my son picked, made sure all the kids were getting along and having fun. The kids had a great time! I had friends from out of the area come and their kids were begging their parents to bring t hem back. Throwing this party was simple and stress free. The cake was all we needed to bring. This is a great place to host a birthday party especially for kids with birthdays in the colder months!

My 13 year old son had his bubbleball birthday party at Players Indoor. He said it was the best party he’s ever had! All the boys had a blast. And it was the easiest party I’ve ever thrown. All we had to do was bring a cake (they even supplied plates, forks and napkins).

I come here for dog shows. Several agility trials are held here each year. (I’m sure the soccer folks are thrilled about that!) So I can’t comment about the training or instruction, just the facility. Bathrooms are nice and clean, but clearly geared for little ones. The TP holders are lower than the toilet seats. Since I don’t bend that way, I have learned to peel off the TP before I sit down.
My gripe is with the snack bar. The dog shows start in the early morning — like 8 a.m. Sometimes there is no one at the snack bar all day. We are told in no uncertain terms that we cannot bring outside food or drink into the building, so it is important that the snack bar be open! Or let us know that it won’t be, and let us bring outside stuff in! There is a vending machine with a variety of things, but not like getting something relatively fresh.
The parking lot is ample, even for people with dogs and a lot of paraphrenalia.
It’s a decent place, in an industrial area. Last time I was there, a bunch of young people were working out. Wish I had opportunities like that when I was young and athletic!

My son practices here with the Chicago Fire Jr. Team. Practices here on weekdays usually. It’s fine, clean, but very expensive… They overcharge the clubs way to much.
Fields are very nice and good turf according to my kid.

My daughter has participated in Girls lacrosse leagues and classes over the years. It’s a bit of a drive from St Charles, but the facility and instruction is far superior to what we can get here. I like that the bathrooms are clean, the place doesn’t smell like an old gym shoe and there is plenty of seating. Best indoor facility in the burbs and they happen to be lacrosse experts too.

You probably come to Players if you have a kid participating in indoor soccer during the less than balmy Chicago winter months. The indoor soccer is a great way for the kids to get some of their pent-​up energy released while keeping their soccer skills homed for the outdoor season. This is also a review of the Naperville Park Distrcit indoor soccer program. Players is a welcome break from home on weekend mornings, but there are some changes I would suggest to make it better for everyone. The indoor soccer leagues themselves are great. My kids have been in the leagues for 2 years and they get so much benefit from participating.
There are 4 indoor soccer fields. The 3 larger ones double as lacrosse fields for High School kids. There’s a «micro» field for the kids under 5 to play soccer. Additionally, they have some space for off-​season football and track conditioning. My kids are actually obsessed watching the HS football players do their advanced conditioning– so much so it’s hard to get them to their soccer games. Anyway, there’s plenty of seating for spectators at each of the fields. The games typically last 45 minutes or so.
So what would I change about this place? I guess my single biggest issue is the food selection they have. I have two kids and they play at different times. This inevitably leads to the one not playing to want a snack from the snack bar. Since this place is all about promoting healthy activity, I wish they had more than hot dogs, pizza, and hot pretzels to eat. How about taking a page from the Lifetime LifeCafe and promoting all-​around health? It wouldn’t cost much more to produce than the nosh they sell, and I’d feel better about giving it to my kids.
It’s also really kind of dark and dreary in here. I know it’s winter in Chicago, but I am getting out of the house to break the winter blues. I don’t know if there’s an easy way to change that, but it gets old when you’re just sitting inside a warehouse space for hours every morning. I don’t know, just something for the parents to promote wellness or activity, or something… t
Overall, the Players Indoor experience is pretty good. It’s a fun outlet for the kids and lets them burn off that energy they manage to store up in winter. The indoor coaches and assistants are great, and it’s a fun way to promote physical well-​being.

Players is a great facility with high quality equipment and indoor fields! The first couple of seasons that they were around the ref’ing was suspect at best and at time’s lost control of games. Over the past 2 years however they have a solid crew of ref’s and great teams that come in there. You DON’T have to worry about player safety or fights because they are on top of the game and keep players calm unlike some indoor places in our area. Safety, quality fields and equipment, and good officiating equals a place you can feel comfortable playing or having your kids play at. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is the cost. It’s competitive but still I think a little expensive.
