Pinot’s Palette

Attended a painting class with mom and sister to celebrate my mom’s birthday. We had an absolute blast! If you haven’t yet been to a wine and paint type event basically they walk you through painting a replica of a master work or themed painting designed by the shop. Van Gogh paintings are popular as are scenes of sunsets, beaches, trees, etc. There are breaks built in and once they explain a step they play fun music or chat with the crowd while you work. Oh, and you can drink!
Anyway back to this location… The instructors are fun and full of personality. The studio is welcoming and so well set up. The bar prices were really reasonable and the selection was good. They have a big selection of painting events so we were able to find something we wanted to paint (van gogh in our case). I loved how my painting came out and it was an awesome girls night out. I’m looking forward to coming again for date night or another girls night!

We went to this place as a girls night activity and painted starry night for three hours (with breaks) and it was a blast! They were very good about seating us next to each other and to my knowledge no one had any problems with the seating! The place was completely full but well worth it. The staff creates a fun, free environment where I was very comfortable for being such a bad painter, the painting turned out fabulously.
The bar tenders were a hoot and were very attentive which was fun and even though it wasn’t a BYOB like most of these types of places are the drinks were very fairly priced and had a lot of alcohol because the bartenders were very generous in their cups. Eat a little something before you go because there is no food besides some cheese and crackers however, while we were there a party was happening and they were able to bring in a bunch of food for their group so that would be something to check on!

We visited Pinot’s Palette for a work Christmas outing, and it was great! Th environment is great, you can sit or stand while painting, and mostly the staff was super friendly! In wine and painting classes, the instructor can make or break the class, and our instructor, Ruth, was great! Fun, approachable, and talented.

My sisters-​in-​law and I threw a surprise party for my Mother-​in-​law at Pinot’s and it was amazing! Not only was the private room clean and set up for us, but the drinks were priced decently! The layout for this location is very nice: private room in the back and a large studio for public lessons right next to the bar area. They also had complimentary coffee in a lounge area towards the back (super convenient) and a bathroom all the way in the back.
The staff was very nice, super excited for the party with us! They made everything easy for us!
Our instructor was Ruth, and boy was she a gem! Not only did she handle us new beginners, but her instructions were simple and we ended up with a gorgeous painting!
I’m do sure going to come back to this location — I HAD A BLAST!!!

Not all painting party venues are created equal! I’ve been to Pino’s Palette twice, and another similar painting workshop at a different facility. The difference in quality was immediately clear. Pinot’s in Naperville employs art students who give clear direction on a variety of quality paintings. It truly is difficult to come away with a bad painting. The staff is energetic, and the party atmosphere is welcoming. Gotta love the retro music too.
If you’re comparison shopping local studios, Pinot’s is excellent. And I swear I don’t know anyone who works for them and no one paid me in paint to say this :)

The class was a blast! The people were awesome and the drinks were tasty. It was a good place for our team to hangout and do what we do best! Art!

Fun place to spend the evening with friends. The instructions are easy to follow. My painting turned out great. Great way to celebrate my birthday.

We had such a great time! Sangria is awesome. I’m the next Vince Vangough. We went for a girls night out and the instruction was great. Everyone there had a blast!

I had so much fun! I would love to return! The instructor and the employees were very pleasant. The women who signed up for the event I was in were so funny.

Awesome place!!! My wife suggested it for my Birthday and I love doing anything creative, so I was excited.
The concept is hands down great. Our instructor, was very knowledgeable about painting and made it a lot of fun.
There was great music and fun drinks (I don’t drink, but they looked great). We were all singing along and painting… It was so much fun.
Then why only 4 stars and not 5? There were two things that I think they could improve upon. Not to discourage anybody from going, they were very minor.
The first thing was that the place was VERY humid. The air was so thick. There is probably a good reason for this that I don’t know, but had I known that I would have dressed better prepared. I was a mess when I left there.
The other thing was the pace was really fast. I wish it was a little slower to understand better what was going on. I mean I get that it’s timed. I just felt rushed all the time. Like I was going to miss the next step.
I’d like to say though, even given the two small negative things that I had to say. I had an awesome time, and would love to do it again someday.

We had a great time here for my friend’s bachelorette party. Our instructor, Patrick, was so fun and interactive. The bartender Pam was very sweet as well! I’m only giving 4 stars because I do wish it was BYOB.
If you’re looking for a place to have a special event in Naperville, I highly recommend Pinot’s Palette.

I love this place. It’s fun, relaxing and they make you feel like you are a great artist.
BUT my review is (hopefully) a little different.
My dad is in a nursing home and the owner here generously donated her «painting samples» to the home. They were very helpful and keeping the residents’ minds engaged with different colors and telling them stories about the goings-​on in the pictures. It was a excellent way to try to keep my dad’s mind engaged in the world around him.
Also, I took my mom who is handicapped to paint here. They got her a different more supportive chair for her to sit on, left lots of room around us and helped with canvas placement as my mom cannot lift her arms more than 5 in or so range of motion. They were accommodating in every way possible and super sweet about it too.

I have been to Pinot’s Palette twice now on a ladies fun night out. Both times I was under impressed. My best friend and I do a lot of paint nights at different venues (I believe we have done 9 – 10 total). This is my least favorite venue. To start, the brushes are in very bad shape. Hard, bristles falling out in painting, etc. The instructors go very fast and don’t give you a chance to catch up. You feel stressed and hurried. Finally, they pack you in like sardines. You are sitting so close to your neighbor, that you are constantly bumping arms. They are on the higher end pricing wise with a lot less than the competition to offer.
On a good note, everyone working there is kind and fun.

We had a great time at Pinot’s Palette for my bachelorette party. The staff was friendly, the snacks were tasty and the atmosphere was very casual and fun.
When we arrived, they had all the supplies we needed for our «Winter Japanese Garden» painting. There was plenty of time to paint, socialize and snack away as we had «drying time» before we could move on to the next part of the painting.
The ability to bring in your own snacks was great for our purposes. The only bummer is that they don’t serve non-​alcoholic beer or wine, and you can’t bring in your own (Naperville ordinance) so if you are a non or former drinker or are pregnant, you might just have to settle for water or soda. Though, Maybe Pinot will add non-​alcoholic wine or beer to the menu… I’d be a regular if that was the case!
Finally, I love that they take pictures of each of the groups when you are done, and you can be posted to Facebook, if you want or have your own group picture taken for your own purposes.
Pinot’s is a great place! I highly recommend them!

Our family’s experience at Pinot’s Palette was very special and well-​welcoming. The staff was not only courteous and polite, but inviting, helpful, and encouraging as we were making our lifetime memories.
This was a special occasion in light of the holidays for our family so it was quite the event and the staff encouraged creativity and fun amongst the entire crowd! Please visit!

So much fun! These lovely people took a middle-​school art class failure and turned her into a mini Van Gogh! :)
My family and friends were impressed… my young student even told me that my painting was «legit.» Let me tell you. In the words of disenchanted, pre-​teen America, that’s a high compliment.
I’m the stick-​figure and smiley face kind of artist where drawing goes, and I really didn’t know if I could paint but I signed up for a class with a city scape because I loved what it was suppose to turn out to be. I seriously love my painting.
I tried to find friends to come, but ended up going alone so I wouldn’t miss the class I wanted. I still felt welcomed and had fun! The ladies at the bar helped me with a doctored up coffee to keep me warm. Our instructor was fantastic! The helpers were enthusiastic…
I’ll definitely be back for an individual session or for a party. Who wants to party???

My gal pal drug me here and told me I needed a night out. And you know what? She was right, I did.
It was fun to just listen to instructions and not have to make weighty decisions. There was nothing on the line, it was just mindless fun. And free snacks! And free bottled water.
I was pretty happy with my picture and even happier for a night out with a friend and no worries.
Make some art, have some laughs and enjoy yourself. You’ll be glad you did. I was!

Girlfriend and I made it out to their open house this past Sunday. Normally, you have to sign up for a 2 or 3 hr class and it’s a larger canvas (10 by 10 maybe?). This was a nice way to be introduced to a painting studio :)
When we arrived, the manager came and explained that this was an open house and that we could choose any 8×8 portrait that was on the wall. We had about 10 – 12 options to choose from, and each portrait had a set of directions that was pretty easy to follow. There was one artist there that would help people if they needed, which was nice :) The $ 10 fee included the canvas as well as water and coffee!
I definitely think I’ll be signing up for a longer class… the atmosphere was nice and the artists were super knowledgeable!

Just went here on Sunday and I am already planning my next visit to Pinot’s Palette. This place was an amazing experience.
You can schedule your visit online, which is what I did, and personally I think that is the easiest way. They have a calendar posted with events to show what you will be painting on which day and whether or not the proceeds go to a charity. I chose my event specifically because all of the proceeds went to fallen soldiers’ families. We painted a barn with an American flag hanging from it, perfect for Memorial day.
It costs $ 38 per person (that price can vary depending on the type of event you sign up for and whether or not it is a private party). That price includes your canvas, brushes, smock, paints, and whatever else you need to paint your masterpiece.
They encourage you to bring food, but you cannot bring your own booze. You can buy what they offer (wine and a select few beers) but of course the prices are jacked up. I paid $ 28 for a bottle of red wine that you can normally find in stores for $ 10 and the beers were $ 5, but whatever. You have to drink when you go because if you’re a terrible painter like me, alcohol makes it all the more fun!
They have a little table off to the side where you can set the food you brought for your party. I didn’t like this because that means anyone attending the event can go up and start eating the food you brought specifically for your group. And that is exactly what happened.
Of the thirty-​something people that were there, the ladies of my group were the only people that brought food. As soon as we set it out, some random women picked up plates and napkins getting ready to chow down on our munchies. We had to let them know that the food was for our party only and if you want food you have to bring it, which just made things super awkward.
Aside from that, the evening flowed smoothly. The instructor at the front of the class will walk you step by step how to paint the portrait they’ve chosen for everyone to paint that evening. The staff there kept messing with me about my painting. They were hilarious! I had far too much to drink so I will admit that it looked a little rough, but they were harsh critics!
One of the guys that worked there said my barn looked like it was made of concrete because my colors were so bland. Then he said it looked like something out of texas chainsaw massacre! Lol! «Im afraid to see whose gonna come out of that barn…» is what he said about my portrait. They’re lucky I’m a good sport! But it was all in good fun.
The event took a total of three and a half hours although it only said it would take two hours on the website, so be flexible when you sign up for this thing. Eat before you go otherwise book a private party if you plan on bringing food because people will nom on your food and then you will have to awkwardly confront them and tell them not to. Drink lots of wine and don’t be all serious about making your picture perfect. Its meant to be fun so get silly and have a good time with it.
At the end of the day you get to take your painting home with you. Mine is in the garage lol! Pinot’s Palette is a great time. I love the staff, especially Patrick – the harsh critic, and they make everything so easy for you while you are there. I can’t wait to go back!
