Peanuts has a patio along the riverwalk. It is a nice spot to have drinks when the weather is good. They have 18 tap beers, and several more selections in bottles. Typical bar menu; burgers, sandwiches, appetizers. The patio is dog friendly. We just had some beer, and did not order any food, so no review of that. The river is fun to watch, although we saw a 4 – 5 ft watersnake swim bye, not so fun, along with carp, bass, and a number of kayak ers. Service was fine for us unlike other reviews for here.

Let me start off by saying that I work in the industry. That being said, I understand everything that goes on behind the scenes and usually give restaurants and servers the benefit of the doubt if my service wasn’t great. My friends and I went to peanuts yesterday on a slow Saturday night(I know it was slow because I had just gotten off work early as it was slow there too) and from the moment we walked up to the door, this place had one of the worst attitudes and vibes I’ve seen in awhile. We asked the guy at the door checking id’s if there was space on the patio. He replied«no. You can stand and drink… like you would at home». Ummmm okay?! Clearly you don’t want us here. Got a drink at the first bar then headed outside where there were plenty of tables open. One guy brought us a late night menu then told us he’d get our server for us. No one ever showed up and by the time we asked someone to order food, I guess the kitchen was closed. I’m not writing this review based on the door man or the poor service. I gave this place one star because of the manager. I made sure that peanuts closed at 2am because we got there a little later and I know naperville businesses lock their doors one hour earlier than posted closing times. At 1:07am I heard the manager telling the staff that it was last call. I’ve never seen a place go any earlier than half an hour of closing time for their last calls. My friends and I got our last drink and sat outside continuing to talk and finish our drinks At 1:40am we heard this guy barking at us «okay guys finish your drinks and go home. Go to work tomorrow. Finish them» we looked at the clock confused as he continued to be SOOOOOO rude to us. We all had three drinks and we’re in no way being rowdy so why would you treat paying customers that way? This guy was also grabbing the bartender and just over all being a greasy slime ball. I will never go to this place again because they have absolutely no respect or desire for customers. Sorry this was so long but it honestly baffles me how a manager would think that behavior is acceptable. I sometimes stay an hour past closing time for my tables.

Despite the reviews we decided to give it a try after seeing it from the riverwalk a few times. Went in for a late lunch on a Monday, and we were immediately asked for an ID, before I could even finish asking if the patio was open. When the bartender found out one person was under 21 she stated rudely that«she would have to keep an eye on us, just to make sure.» We didn’t even intend on drinking, only came in for lunch. First time there and I won’t be back. I understand being careful with who you serve, but don’t make diners feel like criminals when your dining room is empty. If you only want patrons above 21; put a sign up and we won’t waste our time, or yours. Bar Louie across the street was a much better choice anyway.

Terrible, Terrible, Terrible service! Waited 50minutes and never even got a drink. I told the waitress and she said it would be another couple of minutes… 20 minutes later Nothing! I told a man who I thought to be the manager and he simply shrugged and said«we’re busy. «will not be going back.

I love the patio on the riverwalk and the digital jukebox inside. Overall, it’s a great little hole in the wall bar!

Great outdoor area for the summer months… but when that’s not accessible I wouldn’t be caught dead in the actual bar itself. its smaller than my one bed apt and isn’t much to look at either

I’ll start by noting that I’ve never eaten here, but have been in for drinks twice. I can’t believe we never knew they had a patio– and a patio overlooking the river no less! Pretty awesome. They should probably put a sign out front to let peeps know. The service is good here and they have a dart board.

Peanuts has a great outdoor patio along the river with a few games of bags set up outside. I went on a week night so it was pretty chill. They have a decent beer selection and some pretty good week night drink specials. The service was okay but the staff wasn’t particularly friendly.

The bartender in the place was nice. We walked to the patio and sat at a table. The server walked past us around 6 – 7 times and only then did we stop her to ask for menus. She never came back or asked if we needed anything. Another person came and took our order. He never came back after that. We ordered nachos. We never got them. We waited for at least 20 minutes before we just left. The man who took our order saw us leaving and didn’t even stop us. Makes me think he didn’t even put in our nachos order in the first place. They weren’t packed and other tables had been tended to. I work in customer service so I’m pretty understanding when it comes to people being busy. However, my friend and I were just blatantly ignored. Won’t be coming back.

I would go here, but I’m not sure I’m up to date with my measles vaccine. The drunk old bartender is a nice touch together with the clueless wait staff. Thankfully there was a bar manager who made a point to be a completely dismissive snot. Not that anything in Naperville is very relevant, but this is the worst place to spend your money.

Not crazy about the servers. They wear what they want to, which I’m really not a fan of at restaurants no matter how casual, and most of them have poor attitudes. But I do enjoy Peanuts. I love their patio on the Riverwalk, they have great drink specials every day of the week, and they have an awesome menu. Unlike Jimmy’s across the street(I hate Jimmy’s so much), their menu actually consists of real bar food: wings, nachos, potato skins, bosco sticks(sooo awesome!!), sandwiches, pizza, etc… The stuff people actually like to eat when throwin back some beers, not hummus, fruit, and deviled eggs. So take some notes, Jimmy. They also have great prices! Appetizers ranging anywhere from $ 5 to $ 12 bucks and entrees from $ 10 to $ 15. I ordered the nachos and they were outstanding. They came with all the toppings nachos should have like chili, cheese, jalapenos, tomatoes, black olives, onion, guacamole, sour cream, and pico de gallo. They were on point! A friend of ours ordered a pepperoni and sausage pizza. It was thin crust, just the right amount of cheese and sauce, and was the perfect size for an individual portion. He was able to finish it no problem. The waitresses did annoy me, but despite the fact that they were not friendly, they got our order right, they stayed on top of refills, and they continued to clear off our table as needed. Peanuts is definitely one of the better bars in Naperville. I will be back soon!

During the summer months this place is a solid 4 star. During the winter a 2 star. Their food is less than average and beers can leave a little to be desired but the patio is a wonderful retreat from the hubub of DT Naperville DBs. The specials are always a nice addition. Juke box is also a 4 – 5 star.

A Hidden Gem! Peanuts has great food and a large outdoor patio facing the river. Definitely try the spicy chicken quesadillas or the chicken nachos!

Of all the bars on this block, this place is definitely my least favorite. It’s a little hole in the wall, but not exactly what I’d consider a dive bar. For one, it’s pretty small, the actual bar is small as well as the space. I guess I’ll have to come back in nicer weather when I can check out this patio as I’ve heard better things about that. This was the last of several bars I tried St Patrick’s Day weekend and it wasn’t a place I loved or anything… in fact I decided to end my night after hanging in there a bit. It was big crowded, for one. The service was fine, it just didn’t do much for me.

Peanuts is definitely my favorite place to go in downtown Naperville! Specifically, their back patio/upper balcony section. It’s such a lovely view of the river and is pretty big back there, unlike the tiny inside. Good drinks, not super pricey. Their food is very good too. I had a BBQ chicken sandwich last time that was delicious and flavorful. Staff is friendly and kind. I’m taking away a point because of the fact that they had a band on a Tuesday! We just wanted to go and chill, once we found out there would be a band, we called it a day. But I will be back!

If you do not frequent downtown Naperville for a bar crawl and the such, you may look at the interior of this place and say, «What a dump.» It’s a dive for sure, but its tiny on the inside, so why does it stay open? What is its big appeal? OLDPEANUTS: Never crowded, could always get a drink(like shots or PBR). But That’s about it. There was nowhere to sit in the back patio, except for a few chairs/tables. It had a great deal of potential, but it clearly was one of those places with regulars and served as a pit stop for people looking to do a shot or two. NEWPEANUTS: Always crowded. ALWAYS crowded. But they have a sweet patio out back! And they actually give you MENUS now! There’s food and drink specials, and theres even a bar out back! Why the change? Don’t answer that question, Peanuts, it’s definitely bringing you some business at a low expense. They just added a few plastic patio table sets, some umbrellas, and set up a bar, and VOILA! This place is your standard, happenin’ Naperville bar now, with corn hole sets and all. I feel like I needed to note the new and old Peanuts, because there could be a varying level of reviews here. I have never ordered food here, I’ve just gotten very drunk here. The service is usually good, and the drinks are cheeeeeap. You can get a tallboy of beer for a few bucks(don’t look for anything craft, though… it’s all swil). If you want to sit outside and enjoy some drinks and you abhor Jimmy’s as much as I do, then head here.

I like peanuts. And I like free peanuts. So I guess you could say that I like Peanuts. I haven’t had a chance to check out the patio, but it’s not a bad spot for a bar crawl or a quick drink. There is no drink menu, but there is a full bar and at least one cheap beer special. There isn’t a lot of seating, so I wouldn’t recommend this for large groups. But there is nothing unique about Peanuts. It’s laid back(so no pulsating, obnoxious DJ competing with the TVs) but other than a bar crawl, and the one time I came here with co-workers, I can’t think of an appropriate occasion for this place. They have TVs, and even though I don’t care about sports, I can definitely say that a game can be better viewed elsewhere. I really prefer Jackson Ave Pub over the other casual bars in the area, because their food and drink options are better. I’d pass on Peanuts in colder weather and wait until the patio opens up. They need some kind of kitsch here like a signature drink or inventive food menu.

Friendly server and owner but the food really let us down. The cheese sauce looked like a melted candle, the wings were extremely tiny and were ordered as mild and weren’t. Also, the quesadillas which I was told were their most popular were lacking in flavor and served with browning guacamole in spots. Nice vibe for drinks just don’t come hungry.

Where there is a patio along the river – you had me at hello. I honestly, have passed this bar so many times, and was more surprised by it when I finally went in. It’s one of those – don’t blink otherwise you’ll miss it, unless you’re looking specifically for this or are on a bar-hop. Low maintenance is the key word. A bar like Peanuts in Naperville is kind of a treat. I like the glitz, and the glamour like the next girl, but give me a beer on tap and a whole lot of whatever in the mix and we’re even stevens. Inside, is a standard local bar with service a go-go. The staff is friendly and on top of their game. There’s enough seating for any size of a group. Outside is a whole other ball game. There’s plenty of seats, another bar, bags, flatscreens. Oh and did you know you can smoke outside? For all you smokers – there ‘ya go. Not that I smoke, but smokers are the fun crowd and this makes the bar feel like you’re not at a bar, but hanging out in someone’s backyard. With service. Jammin’ on the Peanuts. It’s a fun spot, cheapo beers and an overall good place to meet up with some friends and drift away for a night.

Redeeming factor: large patio on the river. Great in summer time! Otherwise, it’s a plain old sports bar with BAD food. I ordered a grilled cheese, and it was literally made with wonderbread and those kraft single cheese sheets. I mean, I hated those when I was little, let alone as an adult. Sick. I realize it’s a bar, but I stand by my belief that a bar shouldn’t have a menu if everything on it is awful. And the waitress, though nice, was a total space cadet. I’ll never eat here again. But if you’re down town naperville and want to sit outside in the summer, this is definitely a great view.
