Part of the recently-added, H-Mart-adjacent food court, Oui Bakery is a purveyor of Asian style sweety-bready goodness. Lots of cream puffs and pâté à choux! Okay, so the cream puffs were calling to me, especially since they came in flavors like pineapple cream and mocha. My boyfriend also bought a small«honey castella,» which was described as being like a sweeter pound cake. The cream puffs were tasty on the whole. I preferred the pineapple one: both cream filling and a pineapple custard sandwiched into a tender cream puff(the pastry did not taste like it had been sitting around, nor was it tough or stale, the cardinal sins of pâté à choux). The mocha was okay but erred more on the side of coffee than cocoa; the flavors needed more balance. My bf didn’t care for the castella, thinking it dry and not what he expected from the description. The polite girl working there offered us a couple of bites of items from the sample table, including the«morning bread»(which has a cream filling) and the mocha cream bread(which is the same as their coffee bread but strewn with slivered almonds and filled with mocha cream, à la my cream puff). They love their cream here! Weight Watchers, beware! There were also some truly beautiful cakes in the case that I would love to have an occasion to try. As far as the individual items, the selection is not huge. Pastry House Hippo it is not(for those of you familiar with Mitsuwa Market and its bakery). BUT I will still say«Oui, oui!» when offered another cream puff!
