My family has come to this place for years and there is a lot of service and quality packed into this little shop.
My last visit was during the pre-​Yelp era, until today.
I went in to ask if they had a tool to make a hole in my leather Apple Watch band. The tool I had wasn’t big enough so my first thought was to take a ride over to the luggage and shoe place on Ogden.
I briefly explained the situation and my watch was taken back (to where I thought perhaps they would just look at it) and brought back to me with the hole big enough to fit the stud! Barely a word was spoken but hey, I enjoy a little mystery in my day.
He did not charge for it and I am incredibly thankful for not only a solution to my problem but for the simple kindness that was given.
Now to bring my boots in to be cleaned up…
The store was clean and smelled of leather — it doesn’t get more authentic than that! There were an array of high end brands of leather shoes and a super cute pair of sandals on display. As you go towards the back, you notice the walls lined with shoes and luggage, ready to go home to their loving families. It’s a wonderful sight of old, new, and old-​turned-​new-​again!

What an absolutely amazing service and quality! I took a leather messenger bag a while ago to get its ends replaced, when I went to pick it up, it was as if I had been given a brand new bag! The gentleman that received it (I’m guessing he’s the owner) was so kind and helpful, they did an outstanding job at a more than a reasonable price. I can’t say enough good things about this place, I Will definitely use their services again in future if I need to.

One of the best local businesses you will ever visit. Friendly, prompt, dependable, and high quality service. I have purchased shoes here and had shoe and luggage repairs done here for many, many years. Always… top notch. When I was in school I worked in a shoe store that had a cobbler from Italy on site. All the quality and craftsmanship from the «old world» is still in practice here today. When I move again, I will miss this place

I brought in my damaged Uggs that seemed like they were on their last leg. They were incredibly kind and said they’d do the best they could. A week later I pick up my Uggs and they look BRAND NEW. They did an amazing job and had great customer service. I’ll be back if I ever need anything repaired and recommending them to everyone I know!

Went here based on the Unilocal reviews with a vintage pair of Frye boots. I was looking for them to be reconditioned. The owner told me they only needed to be buffed and polished a little. He could have sold me down the river. He won my business for life — what an honest business.

Amazing service! I brought in a pair of $ 100 fashion boots I bought at Goodwill for $ 5 that needed new soles. Naperville Shoes did an amazing job — I even have more traction on them now than I did before. I know I will get many years out of these boots, and am still well below the retail price had I bought them new!

I think I had a unique specialty job. Had some dark red leather armor I needed color matched to a deep brown chest piece. A mask, 2 gloves and 2 bracers. Long story short… All pieces came out perfect. Excellent job. Even replaced all the rivets with new «old looking» rivets. Great job and a very fare price. HAZAAH!

Want to know why I love Unilocal so much and consistently refer to it for stuff? Because I find other Unilocalers direct me to awesome places like this! I’ve driven by this store about 100 times in the last 2 years and never thought of going in until I read that they do shoe repairs. I will NEVER take my shoes anywhere else again. Even better– they sell Birkenstock sandals. I’m not a big fan of the sandal per se, but I do love their clogs and Pete (the owner/​manager/​all around outstanding staff guy) fits you for them.
Over this really nasty winter most of my dress shoes I wear to work got trashed. Since most of my good shoes cost at least $ 150/​pair, I wanted to try to save them rather than replace them. Pete totally set me up with new soles, polish, and laces for a fraction of the cost of new shoes. The work done was outstanding, and my shoes seriously look brand new again.
As I mentioned, they also have a new shoe department with prices as competitive as Zappos. I love the Birkenstock clogs for going to/​from yoga and working in the garden, and Pete set me up with a cool new pair of Super Birki’s. He was patient while I was a pain in the *** with trying on different styles and sizes while he waited.
Love, love, love this store. Do yourself a favor and check them out whenever your shoes need some TLC.

I love this place. Needed some zippers replaced on a few pieces of luggage and a few pairs of slippers re stitched. Got some outrageous quote from other places and then I read the reviews here. Wow, a family business — the kind that you wish there were more like it. All I can say is that the work is great, Pete is a trip, and the prices are more than fair. Just be sure to bring some cash and be prepared to interact with cool people who know how to run a business and joke around with their customers.

This is my new luggage and shoe guy. I brought in a bag that needed a new zipper and couldn’t be happier. The price and quality of his work is exemplary and will be using him for my cobbling needs.

Tiny little family-​owned shop where the owner and /​or his dad are always around to help and make suggestions about how to resurrect that pair of shoes I’ve abused because I enjoy polishing shoes about as much as ironing, i.e. I don’t do either. They also repair luggage and anything leather that requires heavy sewing. They carry a small selection of Clarks and similar quality comfort /​outdoorsy shoes. Last time I was in I tried on a pair and when one wasn’t quite right they adjusted it until it was perfect. Good stories too if you ask about their history in the shoe business.

As I promised, I returned to Pete for another alteration on a pair of boots that had a wide shaft. Damn skinny legs.
Anyway, once again all I can say is the work is excellent. They fit perfect! Cannot tell they were altered at all. Took only one week and was well worth the price! Who wants to look like a pirate in ill fitting boots when you can go to Pete and have them fixed.

I heard Peter was a wiz. I brought in my favorite winter leather for a new lining… I don’t know much of what it takes to make things like BRAND NEW… accept talent… I could not believe the perfection of the workmanship. Peter is a straight up guy and knows what the hell he’s talking about. I now buy my shoes only from him and have all specialty work done by Peter.
They don’t come any better.

I just brought in a pair of very expensive men’s dress shoes that had a hole in one sole, so you can imagine how old they were. A few days later, I picked them up looking brand new. It was like buying a brand new pair of shoes for a very reasonable price.
This establishment is one of the few places that seems to hearken to a bygone era where craftsmanship, pride in one’s work, honesty and fair pricing rule the day. I have never been disappointed by a repair done in this shop.

Fine work at fair prices. Cash only business.
The repairs I’ve had done so far are heel replacement on a pair of pumps and zipper replacement on a suitcase. Both were completed well and have held up well.
Expect about 5 days for your service to be completed, but it will save you a lot of money, since you won’t have to go buy a new pair of shoes or boots or piece of luggage.

This place is the best. The service is great and what I noticed is that they are very honest and don’t rip customers. The owners are from Greece and they are wonderful. They fixed my winter coat zipper for less than 20 bucks. Other places wanted to replace the zipper for triple the amount. The owner’s son Pete is a wonderful guy. Their new shoes are excellent in quality and workmanship. Their repair work is top notch. I don’t mind going there all the way from Countryside where I live.

I’ve brought my boots in here every year for cleaning, repair and even new soles. He even managed to repair a broken zipper that stretched too far when I began tucking jeans into them.
I definitely agree with the other Unilocalers! Love this shop. For me, I found it by its location on Ogden, but I’d definitely drive out of my way for this service and craftsmanship.

You Unilocalers really hooked us up with this one.
We dropped off our $ 200 pair of shoes only to return to them looking BRAND NEW a week later. The sole was pretty much nonexistent when we dropped them off and they literally look like we just purchased them from a store now. We could’ve paid another $ 200 for another pair of Johnston & Murphy’s, or $ 48 to this guy who gave them an entire second life.
Not to mention that I walked in with another pair of boots that had a nail sticking through the heel. I hadn’t worn then more than twice because of this flaw. He took them in the back and for no charge at all, hammered that stupid nail in and they’re good as new now!
I highly recommend this guy. They far surpassed our expectations in quality. New soles, nicely shined, and buffed out! Seriously so pleased with their stellar service.

This guy is unreal. I have been to him a couple times now for different leather boot issues. He has quoted me what it «MIGHT» COST AND IN THE END WHEN I HAVE PICKED UP MY BOOTS– HE ALWAYS HAS CHARGED ME CONSIDERABLY LESS THEN QUOTED.
It is so nice to have someone honest and hard working so close by.
I felt like tipping him, I am so happy with the service. Even if your a little out of the way, the money you save, and the quality of work he does, its worth it !

I was a little skeptical when I read the sign, CASH ONLY. So, I made sure to ask what the repairs would cost so I had enough money. However, did a great job repairing my husband’s luggage.
The shop also sells shoes.
My only complaint: I think they totally disregard the no smoking indoors law.
