My husband went in for ACL surgery with Dr. Karlsson and it turned out great! He was back to running after only 3 weeks! Dr. Karlsson was fabulous and had a great sense of humor. And we were big fans of his NIC (Nurse in Charge), Pat. She was super with my husband.
In fact, I would give this place five stars if it weren’t for one thing … the slow response to my husband’s pain the day after the surgery. My husband is not a fan of painkillers so he tried to get by with a non-​narcotic, only to wake up in severe pain at around 9 a.m. the next morning. When a message left with the staff was not returned after about an hour and a half, he called back only to be told «you have to wait. don’t call here again.» Obviously, that made me angry and I called and left several messages. When I finally got a hold of them, they said they would send in a prescription right away. An hour later, Walgreens had still not received it. I had to call again and insisted on waiting on hold until someone could speak to me. I spent about 10 minutes on hold and was told they had sent it hours ago. Right after I hung up the phone, Walgreens called me to tell me it had just come through and would be filled in 10 minutes. Hours ago … yeah right. I didn’t pick up the medicine until 1 p.m. — four hours after the initial call.
Otherwise, great stuff, great surgery. I’d recommend M&M to friends and family.

I just wanted to follow up my first review and let you know that M&M really dropped the ball on my 17 year old (now 18). She has had both hips corrected with a remarkable surgeon, and has her life back. She is back to training and working out, and feels like she has a new start. If we went with the diagnosis M&M gave us, I don’t know what might have happened. Thank goodness for second opinions!

I can’t say that I really love this place because, let’s face it, nobody goes to an orthopedist for fun. However, Dr. Matlock is a great orthopedist and has gotten me on my feet again after a really bad ankle fracture. I usually go to the Aurora office, but one visit brought me to Naperville to see Dr. Lipinski for a second opinion.
The office is very modern, bright and clean, and has the great advantage of being located really close to the front door of the office building. Which is kind of a big deal when you have an injury on a weight-​bearing limb. Parking seemed adequate but I was there early on a weekday and there weren’t many cars around in general.
Sure, the wait times suck. I think I had the first appointment of the day at 8, and still wasn’t seen until about 8:20. But I blame «the system» for that, and not individual doctors or providers. Unfortunately, I haven’t been to a doctor, pretty much ever, and not had to wait, so that’s not a problem exclusive to M&M. I bring a book and read in the meantime.

Second appointment at this office, second time I’m in the waiting room 30+ minutes PAST my scheduled appointment. People that checked on after me are being called in before me… don’t know what to say.

I have been dealing with an ever worsening and highly painful back condition for the last 4 years. After doing corstisone shots, physical therapy, chiropractors, a ton of meds that didnt work and finally a surgeon who told me surgery is too risky at my age (I’m only 29), I went to see my PCP to get a referral to another place and was sent here. After waiting probably half an hour after my appointment time to get in, the doctor asked me a string of questions which I didn’t have a half a chancd to answer properly because she cut me off in mid sentence every time. I was then told to try physical therapy after telling her I had already been through it and continue to do the exercises taught to me there because my «core must be getting weak». Bear in mind this is after telling her I injured myself after doing competition powerlifting for 7 years and have kept myself in shape by working out with other training techniques this whole time. I told her i cant afford it anyway. She then explained to me what treatment options were available. when I went to say what I wanted, she cut me off again and said to try doing exercises in the pool, and get blood work done because I shouldn’t be having any pain based on my MRI, then promptly walked out of our 5 minute long appointment. She also wrote a prescription for some type of patches which I never picked up because the pharmacy called me saying they got an order with no instructions. Basically I went in there to spend a bunch of money on a doctor telling me my pain is imaginary. This place will rush you in and out and it is impossible for even a good doctor to help you here because they are not given nearly enough time to find out what’s really wrong with you. Thanks for wasting my money yet again m&m. I only give this place one star because 0 stars is not an option.
