We entered the store on 02⁄25 to purchase a white iphone4s for my girlfriend; we have a shared plan. This isn’t an actual Verizon Store, though it looks like one inside and out. Stear clear of the«Verizon Store» on Rt 59 in Naperville, drive a few blocks and go to the real Verizon Store on Ogden. The manager at iTalk Wireless, as we later found out, indicated that they didn’t have any white ones in stock, but after a quick phonecall he would have another store deliver one in a few hours. We agreed that I would come back in a few hours to pick up the phone since it was a gift. When I went back to the store, a different manager said he had the phone, activated it, I paid for it and left. When I got home my girlfriend saw that they had given me a black phone, not the one white we had asked for. We tried to return it the next day and asked to reactivate her old phone, the manager told us to keep the phone, «play with the features», since the mistake was on their end. They would have a new phone delivered for exchange in a few days. We called nearly every day, including a few phone calls to their corporate number and Verizon Corporate after a week when the story started changing at the store. Each manager begain pointing at the other saying the other person had to deal with it and vice versa, no one could say if or when the phone was ordered or when it would arrive. 13 days later and a few phonecalls to a seedy hard-to-reach corporate office, they finally agreed to give us a full refund. When we returned the phone, my girlfriend overheard the manager coaching an employee over the phone not to accept the phone if she can«find anything, I mean ANYTHING wrong with the phone, needs to be freakin pristine, like the best phone ever» to get out of the return. The phone had no exceptions and was returned with a credit memo for the full amount. She told me that they would mail a check– What?!? we paid with a credit card??? But she couldn’t refund the card for some unknown reason. My girlfriend, who overheard the manager telling the employee to try to get out of the return, mentioned to another customer in store that iTalk, even though it looks like verizon was not a verizon store. If they had any problems they would not be able to resolve it thru verizons customer service– Call verizon«611» if she wanted to know for sure. This was all before 5pm. We received a phone call at 7:30 pm from the dist. manager stating that they would be witholding a 75 $ restock fee(double anywhere else– Verizon $ 35), because we complained to Verizon when they initially refused a full refund and my girlfriends comment to the customer. Read ripoff report if you have any doubts, this place is BADNEWS, wished we would have known before but like I said the place totally looks like a Verizon.
