History

Established in 2011.

F5 Financial Planning, LLC (F5FP) is a comprehensive, fee only, financial planning firm. Led by Curt Stowers the firm focuses on providing families financial security, simplicity, and success.

A succesful business leader — Curt worked for Caterpillar for 18 years in a variety of senior level management positions — Curt brings real, practical experience to financial planning. Curt has a BS, MS, and PhD in Industrial Engineering. In addition, he competed formal training in financial planning from Boston University. Curt has also successfully passed the CFP examination.

Curt and his wife Sonya have been married for over 26 years. With their three children they have lived through out the Midwest, in Colorado, in the Middle East, and in Brussels, Belgium.

Whether it’s buying a house, putting kids through college, starting a new career, or building a successful franchise business, Curt has a proven track record of delivering results.

Curt has always been fascinated with finances and several years ago began exploring the possibility of offering a financial planning services company that would help families achieve their goals. In mid-​2011, he took steps to turn the dream in to reality. F5FP works with families to develop a vision of their future — a vision balancing the «5 F’s» that are critical to a families’ well being.

Curt met his wife Sonya during his freshman year at the U of I. They have been happily married for over 26 years

Curt and Sonya have been blessed with three children who are happy, healthy, and successful

From 1993 to 2012 Curt was employed with Caterpillar. During that time he worked in inventory management, project management, commercial management, operations management, purchasing and business development.

In 1995 Curt and Sonya developed and opened a successful Subway franchise. It’s still running strong and doing great!
