Really appreciate Ian’s fantastic service here. Took my car in to get a 2^nd opinion on my tires, after a competitor down the street said they were in horrible condition, and needed all 4 replaced. Ian was honest in his assessment of my tires, saying I still had a few month’s life left in them, and even took the time to show me some of the things he looks for when evaluating tires. On top of that he quoted me a few hundred dollars less for new tires than the competitor down the street. Really appreciate their honest service, in an industry where quite frequently women are taken advantage of!

EXTREMELY HAPPY with the service. I called last minute to get my daughters oil changed and no one would take me except Ian. He was happy to help me out. Great service, great price. Take your stuff there, you’ll be happy you did guys

Ian Ishcomer (sorry if it is misspelled) is the man. He is the manager here. It is difficult to find a good car place to go to in a pinch. This is it. Ian took care of me. I didn’t leave disappointed. I had an issue with my brakes and AC. AC was recharged and brakes were fixed in no time. AC recharge was $ 99 and they offer lifetime refills on the car if it ever runs out!

The gentleman behind the counter Ian has been really helpful. In cases where the dealer might charge twice as much, he and his team find ways to safely fix a problem for less cash. This is a shop that is not looking to rip you off — they really want to help you and they know their stuff. I will come back again and again.

This is the ONLY place i will take my car. I am surprised to read about bad service, it makes me think there is more to the story. They are professional, quick, helpful and if it is an easy fix, they do it… not throwing in crap that doesn’t need to be done to jack their income. Unlike other places I have gone in the past.

I had been going to this location for years. Brought my car in and had a radiator flush, a couple of weeks later my water pump went out. They were not able to repair the water pump due to lack of tools. I took the car back to the dealer and they repaired the car. After repairing the water pump the dealer found a part that car x had broken and after my car was fixed I took it back to Car x. I spoke to the manager Ian and he was suppose to call me back. It has been it has now been 8 days since and I had to call their corporate number. Only to find out that the manger lied to his boss about what he had told me and they will not make it right for a good customer. So that being said I will never go there again, and will tell others not to go there unless you want to be lied to

I have lived in this area for 12 years and this Car-​X location has served four different cars through the years. Now that we are moving out of state, I am sad that I will have to start from scratch to look for a new reliable, affordable and quality-​driven repair shop.
Many of the mechanics (Ian, Jake) I have become familiar with and they are extremely knowledgeable and go the extra mile to help and give you straight answers. They have never tried to sell us services we didn’t need, yet they always knew that we appreciated when they told us of issues we found.
We bought tires for all of our cars there — included in that price are free tire rotations (and minor tire repairs). Oil changes are affordable and prompt — one time I went to a Jiffy Lube and trust me, regretted it. We truly felt that we were valued customers. We will miss you, Car-​X of Naperville!

This place seems shady. The guy at the desk is the least friendly and helpful when it comes to service. Hell they will overcharge you and call it a shop fee. I was never told about a shop fee from the start. Don’t go here, you will regret. Take your service somewhere else.

A big THANK YOU to Ian and his team. I had a shotty oil change and took my car into CarX because it was leaking something on the bottom. Ian was able to diagnose the problem and explain it to me in terms that I understood. They checked everything that I had concerns with and gave me a great deal. I highly recommend CarX and I will without a doubt be returning to their shop.

DO NOT GO HERE. I posted previously that we had to go back three times to fix the oil pan that CarX installed — turns out they either completely ruined the gasket or put a bad one on — my husband went to fix it and it was completely shredded. In addition, when I first bought my car I had new tires put on from Car X — only to find out last week that the «new» tires I bought from them were old. I would not recommend this place to anyone, dishonest and do not stand by their work. My dad used to go there all the time, but seems like the new management is not trustworthy.
I repeat, DO NOT GO HERE. DISHONEST WORK.

The highest praise that I can provide for this location is that I trust the information they are giving me. That is on top of the work being done well.
I’ve shopped around for different repairs, but I started going to these guys when a needed repair was much cheaper than the dealer and other repair shops. I’ve been back multiple times over the years.
They answer my questions without making me feel stupid, or that I am about to be taken to the cleaners.

I’m never going back to Jiffy Lube. I got my radiator flushed and filled, and an oil change, for less than the price of an oil change at JL. Also, I got some advice on how to recharge my AC. Nobody tried to sell me anything extra, or tell me anything was wrong with my car to get more money outta me.

Brian and his team are always helpful and efficient!

So far they’ve been good. Not ripped me off like some of the other auto care chains (or if they have I haven’t noticed ;)) probably because the person at the front desk is polite :). You are never pressured into buying extra services or packages and what not. Service quality has been decent and they have a lifetime warranty on the work that they do. I recently got the brake rotors and pads done from these guys and the price was much better than getting it done from a dealer. I think I will continue to go here for scheduled maintenance only. My only complaint is they’ve not been able to diagnose a suspension related sound that my car has been having.

I have never been to an auto repair business where I can totally and comfortably trust the advice I’m being given, except for this Car-​X location. Brian is absolutely awesome. Their prices are fair and reasonable and they’ll never recommend a repair that isn’t necessary. They fully explain the work that’s required and the price is what they tell it will be. Highly, highly recommend this Car-​X!

I went in based upon convenient location and the positive Unilocal review. I gave up on my last mechanic because it became apparent they were pushing for services that weren’t necessary.
I thought I needed new brakes, due to a change in how they sounded. I expected to spend at least a couple hundred bucks. Too my surprise, the shop owner called me 20 minutes after dropping off the car and said my brakes are in great shape and no need to replace them. So, I spent $ 40 on an oil change and air filter and left completely satisfied. They even gave me some advice on a couple used cars I’m considering. I’ll bring my business back there for sure… integrity goes a long way.

I was there yesterday and was greeted with a smile. I explained that my car was doing as in the commercial (thunder clatter boom boom boom). The tech took my car out for a test drive can back and took it a part. Of course it was time for brakes pads etc. and a few other minor tweaks. But overall never ever did they try and feed me the line you need this and that. That’s what we need more of today.

I don’t even know where to begin. I honestly LOVE these people. I came across them years ago when looking to replace my catalytic convertor. They were about half the price of most places and did the job well. Years later there hasn’t been an issue with it. They take the time to listen to the various squeaks and rattles that my older car is now presenting with on a regular basis. Service is quick, they are wonderful about calling you after a diagnosis and presenting you with options when avaliable. When I honestly couldn’t afford a suggested repair they had diagnosed they didn’t act annoyed or put out at all. I came back and got it fixed as soon as I could afford it and they were so nice and understanding about it. These guys are wonderful, knowledgable dudes. I find it funny that I’m talking this highly of a car repair shop because I’ve NEVER trusted car repair places before. Other places it seems like you go in for an oil chang and come out with a list of stuff that «urgently» needs to be done which is in fact not the case. Whenever I visit Car-​X I’m confident that my car will get the repairs it needs, I won’t be «upsold», and I can afford it. I won’t go anywhere else!

Clunk, clunk, grind, grind.
Those are the sounds that send panic into the hearts of many car owners. Unfortunately, I heard that the other day on my Steve (Yes, my car has a name.) So first thought that pops in my head is «how much will this cost?» and «I don’t want to get screwed over.»
Well I started my search early and got several different prices. I settled on Car-​X because the price was fair and it had a guarantee (Yes I know about guarantees thanks to Tommy Boy: «Guy puts a fancy guarantee on a box ’cause he wants you to feel all warm and toasty inside. Because they know all they sold ya was a guaranteed piece of ****.») Their prices weren’t dirt cheap but rather competitive with the other shops. Plus the shop manager didn’t seem like I was wasting his time by asking the price over the phone.
Anyway, I go down there and they were able to get me right in without any hassles. I was convinced I needed new rotors, but the shop manager actually talked me out of it. Now how many times does that happen? It’s usually the other way around considering rotors are a more expensive product. I give them kudos for saving me money. I also appreciated that I was shown what was wrong and the new parts going on my little baby. Very customer orientated! I also give them another plus for the fast service.
Like I said before, they aren’t the cheapest place around. But when it comes to your car, you pay for what you get. Kudos, Naperville Car-​X!
