Warm Floors, dba of Warm Corporation West is an innovative Design-​Build Mechanical Contracting firm with 37 years in the trade, known for innovative, elegant and integrated solutions. We work throughout California, on residential, commercial, industrial and institutional projects and have thousands of systems in service. We have an in-​house Mechanical Design department, well trained and skilled technicians, for both installation and service.

We claim –and can document– that there is no other heating system anywhere in the world which is more energy efficient and ecological than Warm Floors. There are competitors, but no competition.

We have a talented senior staff, with 10 – 24 years working with us. We are an employee-​owned company, so everyone here is an employee and part owner.

Our projects are mostly large custom architect-​designed homes, but also schools, retirement homes, small shopping complexes, factories, businesses, greenhouses, winery caves and tasting rooms, small churches, religious retreats, Zen centers, monasteries, hotels, and much more. We typically have over 60 projects in progress at any time.

History

Established in 1977.

Warm Floors was founded as RA Energy, an alternative energy company, inspired by the OPEC Oil Embargo and Earth Day. Founder Michael Luttrell had extensive experience in aerospace defense technical fields, and in his last position worked on rebuilding nuclear reactors for the US Navy. Most of what he brought to the company was based on his high-​tech experience.

In 1985, after writing and publishing seminal articles in Fine Homebuilding and Popular Science, requests for radiant heating increased dramatically, and the name of the company was changed to Warm Floors. Since then, we have designed and installed thousands of systems, often combining and integrating solar capabilities.

We have grown over the years from 2 people in a shoebox office to 20 people in a 6,000 Ft2 office and fabrication facility.

More important than our history, where we have been, is where we are going. We will be here for the next decades, whenever our clients need us. The future is radiant and solar.

Twenty years experience in aerospace research and development and nuclear power before founding the company RA Energy in 1977, now known as Warm Floors, division of Warm Corporation West.

Now we are in the process of selling the company to other employees to insure long-​term continuity of Warm Floors unique products and services, through an Employee Stock Option Plan while the primary stock holder will ride off into the sunset in 2020.
