Napa Valley Paddle

Kayaking with Napa Valley Paddle was a fun time — despite an unexpected challenge! After our group of 6 started hit the water, we realized one of our 2-​person kayaks was taking on water. Our guide, Drew, quickly stepped in, guided us to safety and helped drain the water so we could continue. The surprise leak turned into the most memorable and fun team building event (How fast can you paddle to shore?!) for the entire group, and we look forward to getting back on the Napa River with Drew and team again.”

Took my grandson on a kayak tour today. Great experience! Drew was very friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and helpful. Suggested we do the tour up to Trancas Crossing Park instead of returning to the Yacht Club. Best idea of the year. Drew told that there were dolphins hanging out near Copia and he was right. Wow, what an experience and what a great time we had because of Drew.

We had an amazing private tour with Drew. The river is beautiful and we got to enjoy a great SUP experience and got to see some beautiful wildlife. The high lite was to see some of this wildfire in action, saw an osprey fly by and dive in to the river and catch a fish ! Was awesome to see that 20 feet in front of me! Had a great time! Everything was perfect, great, fun experience.

This wasn’t our first kayak rental for the Napa River… but it was the best. On a whim, we called to check availability for 2 kayaks. Drew was helpful & accomodating to our last minute plans. The river doesn’t get alot of traffic, which is awesome for a relaxing river trip. When we were finished, Drew was ready to pick up the eqpt, promptly and swiftly. This is a great way to adventure through Napa apart from the vineyards.

My boyfriend and I booked a date with NVP during the Bottlerock weekend through groupon. It was a beautiful and relaxing tour of the Napa River. The weather was perfect (end of May) and we were still able to hear the music from Bottlerock during parts of our tour!
This was my first time SUP-​ing, so I was a little nervous about falling into the water. However with the help and guidance of the awesome instructors, you can get the hang of it pretty quickly. Its a great workout for your entire body!
I was a little bummed because our tour was supposed to end with an oyster and wine pairing. That part was cancelled because of the Bottlerock event, but instead they sent us home with a bottle of wine :)
I would highly recommend NVP to all of my friends and family!

I’ve paddled with NVP twice now and I have to say that I will only go with this company!
The first time I went with a friend using a groupon for a guided tour. The tour guide was fantastic, knowledgeable and went at a reasonable pace for the group. This was my first time trying SUP so I was worried we’d have a speedy tour guide but that was definitely not the case!
The trip was the perfect length and at the end we met up at a little deli/​bodega for oysters and wine. The owner also owns a winery! The fresh oysters and wine were great and they drove us back to our cars so we didn’t have to paddle back.
Because of the fantastic experience I booked SUP rentals (not guided) for my husband and I one weekend. The rental rates are great and we booked same day without any issues. We paddled around for a few hours (½ day rental) and came back and Drew, the owner, picked up our boards.
Drew was very responsive, arranging to meet us for drop off and pick up and made the experience really great. I would definitely recommend booking a tour or if you are experienced just booking a ½ day rental.
I had also reached out to Drew about donating a tour to a charity auction that I am working on and he was very responsive and obliged!

My daughter and I went this past Saturday and it was a great experience. I had called the day before and was told by Drew, the owner, that there was 2 spots left and I took them. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to send payment via the site, so he graciously sent me a square payment request. When that link didn’t work, I ended up going to our appointment, unpaid, did the tour, and Drew let me pay afterwards, which was very nice.
Our tour guide Emily was a sweetheart. Very patient, interactive and fun to be around. At the end of the excursion, Drew gave everyone a bottle of wine from his own label! Thanks again Drew and Emily!

Unfortunately I can’t write a review about the experience; this is purely from a customer service experience. I booked an outing online about a month in advance. Everything was confirmed, and I paid for the lesson with a groupon voucher. Two weeks before the session, I got an email from the company booking system saying that I now owed an additional $ 60. I called NVP, and they said that this was simply a mistake with the system. A few days before my trip, I get another email that still shows the $ 60 charge.
I still went ahead with the trip, but unfortunately no one was there to take my husband and I paddling. We called the company, and said that they didn’t have anyone down for the 2pm time. They did however have a «no show» earlier that day, but they weren’t able to see who booked the appointment. (really you don’t know who has an appointment?) They went on to say that if missed our appointment, they wouldn’t be able to honor the voucher.
After looking over the emails, I saw not only did the emails from the company indicate that I owed erroneous charges, but they also changed the time of the appointment TWICE! As a customer, I expect businesses to get a verbal confirmation that any new times will work out. Not only that, I did call the company, and they didn’t bother to mention the new times to me.
Luckily I got my money back from groupon. The business owner was less than gracious, and wouldn’t take responsibility for this sloppy business service. Apparently he operates from the customers always wrong perspective. Not someone I want to do business with. Also, he requested that we not ask groupon for a refund. He said that he would send us a check instead. Totally shady considering we didn’t buy directly from him.
Needless to say, I’m sure the paddling experiences are fun, but be careful!

First time my girlfriend and I experienced paddleboarding and had such a great time. The staff was incredible and very hospitable. They definitely took care of everyone especially knowing it was the first time for most. There was little instruction which was great because it gave you plenty of time on the water. Afterwards, we joined the group for oysters and wine and can’t say enough good things about the adventure. Drew, Emilie and another guide (sorry, don’t know his name) were extremely friendly and helpful. Highly recommend for anyone to take this adventure with friends, family or alone. There’s plenty of people to meet and you won’t be disappointed. We will definitely go back and enjoy this experience again.

I wish I could give 10 stars… Best experience ever! Napa itself of course is awesome but what better way to start your day than with something active. My dad surprised me for a Father’s Day/​bday gift with paddle boarding in napa! Didn’t expect the oysters and local wine tasting directly after! Our guide Emily was a gem! Drew, the ower wow’d us! I recommend using NVP 120%!! I can’t wait to go again!!!

My sister and I tried paddle-​boarding last Saturday morning and we had a blast! Emily was our guide and she told our group factoids about Napa and and the Oxbow river. It was a lot of fun paddling by the Napa Riverfront, and continuning further up the river. We took a mini break before heading back, and the way back was actually harder, not because we were tired but because of the breeze, but my sister and I managed to stay standing on the board the entire time. When the tour ended, they told us we could come out again and just rent the paddle board and they would pick up the board when we were done, so we wouldn’t have to go out and then plan to come back, which I thought was a great offer.

Had a great day with owner Drew paddling the Napa River from Oxbow down to Kennedy Park. Drew is a great teacher and tour guide and all around fun person to spend the day with. It was my first time paddling and much easier than I thought it would be. I thought I would fall in the water but that would actually be pretty hard to do considering how big the boards are. Great workout for your core but can also be really relaxing depending on your speed. Wonderful way to see Napa, I totally recommend it!

My boyfriend took me here for our anniversary and we had a great time. We are both adventurous people and love being outdoors, so this was perfect for us. Drew took us on a great tour of the Napa river and we had an amazing bento box lunch. We had a blast and will definitely come back.

I had the pleasure of going on my first paddle tour recently and it was awesome! The Napa river is a great location and Drew Dickson is an excellent tour guide. Even though I grew up in this area, I found the tour to be fun and interesting. We ended the tour with wine and oysters — can’t go wrong with that!

Last weekend was my very first SUP experience and it was amazing! I was a bit nervous about keeping up with the rest of the tour, but Drew was great! He made sure I was comfortable and got me up to speed in no time. Did I mention the bento boxes they had on the tour were to die for! I soooo recommend Napa Valley Paddle to anyone and everyone!
