Mango On Main

I was charged $ 14 for some veggie yellow curry and no rice. You would think that for such an inflated price for vegetable curry you would get a large portion. Nope. It was good but I have had better and I won’t be back for more. I wish I would have had a better experience as I was really looking forward to eating here.

This is my favorite place to eat in Napa. It’s at the end of Main Street in a small building. It’s a little small, and cozy. The food is amazing and the price is reasonable for Napa. I especially love the chicken coconut soup.

This was a great find in Napa. I was here on business and craving spring rolls & pad Thai. They had both, and they were fresh & yummy. Service was excellent, too and they were really busy!

You must try the YES INDEED! PAD THAI.

And yes, it used to be called Mango on Main but they changed it to Bangkok Street Food. Their menus still say Mango on Main, so go figure. I hope that they get that issue fixed soon. They must be losing business because of it. I was personally lost looking for this place.

This is a 3.5 star place. Good food but not very good, better service and terrible value.
We dined there on our recent Napa trip and found this place on Unilocal as a respite from the pretentious fancier restaurants. For that, mango did a great job.
However my soup was lukewarm and only ok as far as Tom yom soups go. My chicken was tasty but not outstanding and I found it odd my husbands curry didn’t come w rice. It’s not that I object to $ 2.50, but are they really going to charge that for rice-​a typically standard accompaniment?
I wanted a side of miso sesame broccoli, something that came with another dish, but was told no. Ok fair enough, many restaurants won’t make changes to their menu and there was also a language barrier.
But I just found the dinner to be nothing special and overpriced.

This place may be a small hole in the wall but it is more like a gem. Food was tasty and prompt. Servers were friendly and welcoming.

My star rating my not mean much on this as this was my first foray into Thai food. I thought it was A-​OK.
The service was good. If you are coming on a Saturday night, you will want to get there earlier on in the evening. Here are some reviews of what I had:
Chicken Coconut Soup: WOW, yum. What a cool mixture of sweet and savory. I liked this a lot!
Teriyaki Lovers: It was three shrimp prawns and chicken breast with teriyaki sauce and miso-​sesame broccoli. It was way overpriced for what it was and the broccoli was the best part. I wouldn’t get it again.
Peanut Bomb: Okay I thought the soup was good, but this was WOW, WOW! I had a bite of Pad Thai too, but nothing could take my mind off the Peanut Bomb. This dish was bursting with flavor and texture.
Great little place to stop in Downtown Napa!

Awesome curries — I don’t even really order curries very often in Thai restaurants, but the curries here are pretty special. Great food just generally — try the indochina rolls; delicious thai iced tea and love the outdoor seating, good service, and really nice atmosphere.

We started with crab rangoon appetizer and ordered Thai iced teas. I ordered the drunken noodles for my entre and my wife had the pad thai. Everything was delicious and the service was fast and friendly! This was our first time dining at their new location in Downtown Napa. Excellent food with large portions at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended!

Love this place. Food is reasonably priced and the service is great. Recommend! Chicken curry is my favorite plate.

We went on a Friday night at 7 and sat outside for dinner. Sitting inside would have been way too loud and crowded but there were 3 tables outside that were shaded and not crowded.
The service was very quick and polite. When we asked for recommendations we were given the severs personal favorites and not just expensive items. She was very helpful and gave us her honest opinion of which dishes stood out. We ordered the Chicken Curry, Glass Noodle Special, and Papaya salad.
The servings are fairly small for the price but what they lack in size they make up for in flavor. Talk about fresh! Everything tastes so fresh and you can really taste the herbs and spices.
The papaya salad was good, the papaya was crisp and the light dressing was not overpowering. The produce were colorful and crisp, such a treat on a hot summer night. It did have just two little shrimp randomly on the plate which were kind of unnecessary. I would order it again as an appetizer.
The glass noodles with seafood special was also very good. I could really taste the fresh ginger which was bright and clean tasting. I’m a big ginger fan and I loved the little burst of flavor I got with every bite. The noodles themselves were so good, cooked just right and not sticky at all. The mini scallops and shrimp were cooked perfectly and went so well in the dish. I highly recommend you try this if you like fresh ginger and sea food, I was very impressed.
I’m not impressed by curries, yes they are delicious but pretty much everywhere I go they all taste the same (give or take a few ingredients). That is normally the case so to impress me with curry it’s got to be out of this world, and boy, is it ever! I mean this curry blew me away and I contemplated ordering a second one and gorging myself on its rich, coconutty, deliciousness. I’m not kidding, it was that good. It was a mild, yellow curry packed with flavor and a rich coconut milk base that just enveloped my taste buds. I have not tasted anything that good since we traveled in Asia/​Malaysia 10+ years ago.
All in all, the restaurant is cramped but the food is fantastic. It’s worth sitting at a tiny table on Main Street for the food you put in your mouth.

The new location is fantastic and they seem to have a few more dishes that have become favorites for me, particularly the curries. Here’s my original review of their old location (Mini Mango) that still holds true today:
Mango is a step up from your typical Thai restaurant. Most of the menu is a more contemporary version of Thai classics, the highlight being the Peanut Bomb (you can do chicken or tofu). Just about any of the curries on the menu are tasty as well but nothing that’s ever really blown me away.
I love ordering a nice Riesling to go with my Thai food but you’ll get stuck paying around $ 30 for a bottle here (bottles that would obviously retail for far less) or a corkage fee (I think it was $ 10). But that’s pretty standard so I always go for it, just about every Riesling we’ve ordered was fabulous.
The pace and consistency of the service is really what makes the atmosphere here. This is easily one of my favorite casual restaurants in Napa.

Love this restaurant! This establishment used to be called mini mango, and recently moved locations to where it is now, and as a napa native I have to say I’m extremely glad it stayed here. Anything you get on the menu is authentic and tasty! Salads are some of the best I’ve ever had and all their sea food is very fresh. It’s the type of restaurant you can pick anything from the menu that sounds good and it will be. Definitely a must try for napa, you won’t be glad you missed this place!

Mini Mango is known as the go to thai place in Napa. Located in downtown, this place is usually one of the busier restaurants on a nightly basis, but it has a following for a reason. People seem to think Mini Mango is a bit pricey, maybe for Thai food, but overall for Napa and the valley it is pretty reasonable. The space is small, the service is good, but the food is what really shines here. Pretty much everything on the menu is prepared very well from the curries to the fried rice and noodles, every dish seems to be fan favorite. Deifinitely a spot that won’t let you down.

Quantity is very less, hv to take 2 dishes if you hv skipped breakfast and is hungry… will give a 2 star for the quantity
Poorly managed… even after payment, they insisted to pay again, within a span of 5 mins… will gv a 1 star for it

Napa!!!I’ve eaten at every Tia place in Napa and a couple in SF and Mango On Main is my all time favorite. You can’t beet the great quality and great taste. It is a Must Go!

My husband already covered our service issue, but I will say that the green curry was really good. I wanted to pick up the bowl and drain the sauce.
But they do need to get the service under control. I’ll update when and if that changes.

I love the new location. It is very bright and cheerful. The food is still delicious and the owner is always so nice to us. I really enjoy eating here.

Mango On Main is essentially a slightly pared down menu from Mini Mango just a few blocks away, so you know that the quality is above average for a Napa Thai place. The space (which formerly housed Analien and Cielito Lindo) is a little small but is effectively utilized.
My family and I arrived at Mango On Main before the dinner rush. There was only one other table occupied. There were three servers.
Our order was taken reasonably soon, but apparently our meal wasn’t sent to the kitchen (maybe a new server unfamiliar with the FOH software?), so we sat there waiting (even without drinks) for about 15 minutes. In that time, the restaurant filled up to about 80% capacity, with everyone getting their meals and drinks well before us. It was unfortunate that our server did not check on us (even when the restaurant was reasonably empty). Once they got in the weeds we had to flag somebody down to kick-​start the service.
However, once our stuff was actually sent to the kitchen the food came at a good pace and was very good. I recognize that this is a newer place, so I’m not going to be super-​hard on them, but when you only have a small dining room you should be able to notice that a family of three has been sitting at an empty table for over ten minutes.
We started with the corn fritters and samosas (both excellent, though the samosas were a little thin on the filling). We all enjoyed our main entrees: my son had soup with prawns and rice, my wife had green chicken curry (I think), and I had a «Panang platter» with pork ribs.
It was all good but a little on the pricey side. Still, we got enough to eat. It was unfortunate that the service was the main sticking point of our visit, but I think Mango On Main still warrants a repeat visit.
