Holy Waters Pool and Spa is a Swimming Pool Construction Company

We are a family-​based licensed contractor swimming pool builder based out of Napa County, CA. Holy Waters specializes in custom inground pool designs and construction. From swimming pool design ideas, to new construction, remodel and repair… we do it all!

We take pride in making our customers a part of our family, not just another number or contract. Here at Holy Waters we believe as one family member to another to be good at our word and what we say we do, it’s just that simple. This is a lost virtue that you will soon rediscover is still alive here as not only a customer but a part of our family.

For over twenty years owner, Juan Solano has eaten, breathed, and even slept swimming pools. He grew up in the pool capital of the world Phoenix, Arizona, where his uncle Gino took him to work in the pool trade at a very young age. From there he’s been on a long journey of mastering this beautiful thing of artistry. He has worked for some of the largest pools companies in the world and many small ‘mom & pop’ companies as well.

Every step of Juan’s journey has brought him to the conclusion that there had to be a better way, not only for him but for his customers, to create a place where valuable memories and good times are made efficient and at a fair price.

Horrible company. Juan is a nice person but no attention to detail. We had a complete remodel of a pool, added a fire pit and a spa. What was said to take 3 weeks was well over 6 months before we had to fire them and the job was no where near complete. The quality was truly the worst. Juan even admitted it. Usually only one guy on the job and he was around 75 years old. Cara, his wife, came into the picture later and she had no clue what was going on. She would never show up for meetings we planned and always had excuses. As you can see I rarely write negative reviews but I just had to on this one. Stay away from them. If you wish to email me privately I can show you pictures in more detail of the poor craftsmanship etc of the job they attempted to do. Pretty amazing. We essentially had to tear up what they did and re do the entire job. Just a really bad experience with this company and these people. Steer clear.

I can’t recommend Juan, Cara and Holy Waters enough! We are first time pool owners and Juan and Cara thoughtfully and carefully helped us choose the best possible pool and accessories for us. As another reviewer said, you have no idea all the decisions that go in to building a pool till you go through the process. Juan and Cara made it easy for us. They have a lot of integrity and we really felt like they worked with us to provide us with the best pool for us, not necessarily the most expensive. AKA I was never worried I was being up-​sold — it’s just not how they work. They also promised us our pool by our move-​in date, a really aggressive timeframe, and delivered on schedule.
Best of all though… the pool itself! It’s incredibly beautiful, we absolutely love it!!! We’ve used it almost everyday since we moved in in early August. My 5 year old is over the moon. We are happy customers and would recommend Holy Waters without reservation.

Because this was our first pool, we spent an enormous amount of time with our due diligence to choose a contractor. Juan and his wife (runs the office), Cara spent countless hours helping us dial-​in on the perfect pool for our needs while educating us on all of the various details associated with a project.
We had both a budget and a tight schedule — we had just purchased a weekend home and we wanted to enjoy the pool by the 4th of July. Juan’s pricing was fair, he committed to us swimming by the 4th and he has legitimate pool building experience vs. one particular company that sent a sales guy.
We’ve built and remodeled numerous homes and it’s hard to have a sincere appreciation for the level of involvement required to build a pool unless you’ve undertaken a project. Though we encountered some unexpected challenges along the way, Juan was professional, knowledgeable and solution-​oriented during the process.
Juan was onsite during every major phase of construction directing and overseeing the work including excavation, rebar, plaster, etc. He generally limits himself to a small group of projects at any given time so that he can personally oversee all aspects of the construction first-​hand. We’ve had a few glitches and in-​servicing challenges (no fault of Juan) and Juan has been just as prompt and responsive as he was during construction when we owed significant progress payments.
We love the pool and can confidently refer Holy Waters based on our experience and final product.

We needed to some work on our 1970s built pool. Prior to any work being done, I was very diligent with my research on companies. Received many quotes and met many folks. Juan was very honest, down to earth, and came highly recommended. As others have already mentioned, having someone come out (on time) and walk through his ideas honestly (non-​salesy) is a breath of fresh air. Juan and his team showed up each time on schedule, performed their work professionally, kept the area clean after each day and did exceptional work. I couldn’t be happier. I had a couple of questions post project completion and Juan would personally show up to help. 5 stars. I will definitely use them again when needed. No question about it.

I literally got 17 quotes for our pool remodel/​crack repair. Our pool was in bad shape! They all sent sales guys to our house, with quotes ranging from 2k-​47k. The owner of this company showed up in his work boots to give us a quote because he actually does the work instead of just sell the job. My pool was in bad shape he had to do a lot of work to fix it right, but took no shortcuts like the sales guys wanted too. They did too much to list, it’s unbelievable. Anyways we now love our pool it’s beautiful. Juan helped us redesign it and gave us options we could afford. This job was huge, and we got a new pool and a friend for life. I’ve checked around and did a lot of research, Holy waters is the best, and when I have a problem, like I don’t know how to get the pump right, heater won’t work (it’s old), or something like that I call him and he shows up. Not a sales guy, but the owner of the company. You won’t find That anywhere.

Prior to getting our pool done, I asked all of my neighbors and friends who had pools, «what was the biggest complaint in your pool building process?» The common problem was communication and service. They all said they went with a large pool company with a salesman that sold them all of the bells and whistles but never heard from him again. Then they woulds have a nightmare dealing with sub-​contractors who would come in and do an okay job but would have no one to complain to or contact when there was a problem. Juan at Holy Waters Pool and Spa was exactly the opposite of this. My wife started calling around to get quotes from at least 5 other pool companies and Juan, the owner himself, answered the phone and was readily available for an appointment.
After getting quotes from the other companies, I felt confident that Juan’s company was going to do the best job! What his company lacks in the elaborate and fancy advertisements, he makes up for in his communication and service. Juan was there for every single step of the pool building process and made sure they did a quality job. Any time I had any type of issues or questions, Juan was always there to answer whether in person, via email, or text. I was totally clueless when it came to this entire process and leary about getting taken advantage of in buying things for the pool that weren’t really necessary. Juan took his time and made sure we got what we wanted for the best deals that he could give us.
If it wasn’t for the occasional rain and having to get a large amount of concrete poured around our pool, Juan would have easily finished our pool in two weeks. Once he started the job, there was no stopping him. Juan was able to get the permits and scheduling of the different processes done with ease. Juan and his crew are some of the hardest working guys I’ve seen and genuinely wanted to get this quality job done so our family could enjoy our summer in time!

Juan from Holy Waters is indeed a great find! His rate for coming to look at my old, non-​functional, used spa was not only very reasonable (read — cheapest in the area!), but he was able to come out quickly.
I’m normally pretty handy, and didn’t want to spend an arm and a leg getting this old spa running, so he agreed to show me what was wrong and what parts I needed to get, so that I might attempt the repair myself.
Way above and beyond just the one-​time service call and modest fee, Juan repeatedly guided me through many phone conversations in my struggles with the motor, pump and panel. He also offering to help me, for free, to remove a stuck wet-​end if I just brought it by (I ended up needing a new one anyway).
It’s nice to find a solid, trustworthy serviceperson in any business — and Juan is such a find.

My hot tub leaked for a year. When I called holy waters, I found Juan to be very professional and willing to take the time to explain what the source might be. Juan fixed the leak in a couple of hours. He is honest, reliable and very competent. He did exactly what he said he would — on time, and for less than I thought the job would cost. When was the last time you could say that about a contractor? Juan is the go-​to guy for pool and spa needs in the greater Bay Area.
