Couldn’t explain enough how much I love this place. Clean, professional, and very comfortable.
Brad gave me my first tattoo and just today finished giving me my 4^th one. He’s an amazing all around artist. When I come to him with ideas, he exceeds my image and does so much.
Definitely recommend this place to anyone and everyone!

Henry is the shit. Can’t wait to go back for him to complete the rest of my vision! So glad I wandered in to this shop.

My sister and I came here to get our first tattoos with Brad and left more than satisfied. He did an amazing job on our tattoos and was very friendly and easy going. We had originally went in to make a deposit for an appointment in November because he was all booked up over the weekend, since my sister lives out of town we were going to just come back when she was in again. To our luck Brad was nice enough to tattoo my sister that same day and asked for me to come in the following afternoon. We went in with a picture of what we wanted and Brad completely made it our own. I would definitely recommend this place & Brad. We both left super happy with the final result. The shop was also very clean.

I give this place 5 stars!!! I’ve been coming here for almost 8 years now! Since I was 18 and I’ll continue to come here! I’ve seen a lot of work done and I will say this place hands down is the best! Rob is my main guy here! He has done Most all of my tattoos and I absolutely love each one! True talent! I can say all the artist here have great talent though! I’d recommend any of them! LOVE GARAGE INK. Definitely have found my home for tattoos!!!

Was looking over my Unilocal reviews and could not believe how remiss I have been by not reviewing GI and, in particular, Rob Struven. Rob does not need much endorsement, he is booked months in advance and for good reason. Instead of talking about his amazing work I will post a few pictures and let you see for yourself. Finally, to address a note about cost in some of these reviews; a tattoo is for life, cost should be your last consideration when getting one.

Everything was great about my experience but I feel silly for not asking the price before committing to a tattoo… Excellent service, nice guys, they talked my mom through her first tat. It was excellent service and the tattoos are cute and matching! I’m a tattoo newbie but $ 100 for a little dime sized horse shoe with red heart seemed a little expensive.
Perhaps that’s just the price of Napa.

I went here because I heard they do Tattoos that aren’t painful. Come to find out it was just a sticker! Boy am I bummed…
Seriously just kidding.
I’ve been coming to Rob for years and I wouldn’t go any where else. You’re going to have to wait over 6 months on average to get on his list, but depending on the piece you want it would be more than worth the wait. I’m probably one of the larger pain in the ass clients as I generally end up needing huge breaks in between pieces, but it happens… I’m very thankful for how much creativity he tosses in when I come up with some basic bitch ideas.
I’ve been around long enough to see Dan when he started as an apprentice and i’m well impressed with the level of professionalism he’s shown through out the years. Henry has been killing it too, despite being a 49er fan. And I must say, Audri is by far the sweetest and nicest person i’ve ever dealt with. She knows forgetful people can be and its awesome getting a follow up call before your appt! And of course… Ginger for helping Rob get into the 21^st century of Social Media and technology, thank you!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! Awesome People! My Girlfriend and I got tattoos, and Dan Lopan did an extravagant job! We told him what we wanted, he drew it up, was versatile and 100% the best experience ever. Got a tattoo in Maryland, and NEVER will make that mistake again. Next tattoo I get, I will literally fly from the East Coast to the West Coast to have this guy ink me up!

Spent six hours here with my best friends. Such an awesome experience. Josh David was AMAZING! He worked with each one of us and spent a significant amount of time making sure each tattoo was good. Would definitely come back.

Went in to get a couple of simple, quick tattoos with my friend on super bowl Sunday. We were greeted promptly by one of the employees, we told her what we wanted done, and she had us set up in no time. Brad did the work on both me and my friend. He was personable, funny, and easy to work with. Our tattoos turned out SUPER clean. I would recommend this shop to anyone.

So I waited for an appointment with Rob; best decision I’ve ever made. This guy is amazing.
He did a half sleeve for me of Poseidon and hades. This is my second tattoo and it’s awesome. I couldn’t be happier. The detail is unbelievable. I can see wrinkles in the face of Poseidon.
Shop is super clean with awesome paintings everywhere.
Also — a customer came in and after he finished getting his tattoo he mentioned he just got over a flu. Rob had his assistant wipe everything that the customer touched with alcohol to avoid germs being spread. Front door, bathroom door, chair. Everything. That says a lot for sanitary reasons.
A++ experience.

I had a great experience at Garage Ink. I had Brad design the art for my hand and he did an amazing job coming up with the art and doing the actual tattoo. The shop was extremely clean and the service was very professional.

I made my appointment for January 11 2013. Walking into the shop it was clean and tidy. The tattoo I wanted was very simple. 3 months after having this tattoo one of my letters has already faded. Fast foreword to January of 2014 my tattoo is scarred and faded. I went to a different shop to have this tattoo fixed. When I had this other artist look at it he said that the person who originally did this tattoo pressed down too hard into my skin which caused the scarring. This boils down to I’m not impressed. I will probably never enter that shop again.

The ONLY place to go in Napa. The work and professional you’ll get from the guys here is unmatched elsewhere. It’s CLEAN, FRIENDLY, and they are on top of their game. I’ve been to Brad and Dan and LOVE both pieces. They truly love what they do here and it shows. It’s a very laid back atmosphere. So if you have any issues here, it’s probably something you’ve doing wrong, cause they are THAT EASY to work with. I can comfortably say that this is my shop of choice for the remainder of any work that I’ll get done.

Had some musical notes done on my wrist. Lines were too heavily done and blurry. Tattoo scarred and still looks scabby, 2 months later. The artist was by some out of town guy, but I didn’t know that until he was halfway done. Too bad I just relied on the good things I heard about garage ink. Garage ink: if you’re going to let drifters ink in your studio, make damned sure they are decent, because it’s your reputation they’re playing with.
Wish there was something that could be done, but it’s freaking permanent. I got the other wrist done at Simms and they did a fantastic job.

Garage Ink Studios is highly professional, and takes the time to give you the perfect artwork. All the guys and staff at the shop are very friendly, and great customer service. They will take your ideas, and turn them into the perfect tattoo. The art is high quality, and you will not be disappointed. Best tattoo shop in Napa.

I actually loved this shop. I’ve received tattoos from the majority of the artists in the shop, and never been unhappy with the artwork or skill level from them. My tattoos that have come from this shop are all fantastic.
I did however have an experience which made me never want to come back again. I made an appointment with an artist who I’ve been tattooed by several time and have loved them all (I wont use names because I only want to tell the story of the lack of professionalism and loyalty not bash the artist completely). I originally planned on getting a cover-​up which was a big piece but between the time i made the appointment and the time I went in my financial situation changed. I told him that I had to get something smaller and he said that was fine. When I got there he told me he was taking a walk in instead. I felt so embarrassed and awkward, but it gets worse.
When I got in my car he called me and said another artist was going to do it. So I came back in only to find out that artist said he «didn’t want to ruin my life» (which he had the poor shop manager tell me, he didn’t tell me himself) because I wanted a little bit of cheetah print on my face/​hairline. At that point I was feeling super weird and just wanted to get out of there.
I was willing just to let the situation go and come back another day, but the artist ended up telling me that my tattoo idea was stupid and ghetto and that the 500 dollar walk-​in was more important to him than my 80 dollar tattoo that day, regardless of the fact that I had the appointment, paid the deposit, and showed up on time. My loyalty and deposit meant nothing to him. I asked for a refund because HE breached the contract of the appointment but he told me it was nonrefundable and cussed me out.
Moral of the story, some attitudes are screwed here and apparently professionalism and customer satisfaction isn’t a job requirement. NOT ALL THE ARTIST are jerks, but I would take my time getting to know them, and choose wisely. I’ll never come back. SO disappointing.

This is a very professional tattoo studio. The woman who runs the books is friendly and efficient. The artists that I had the opportunity to talk to, as well as overhear interactions with, were all very willing to talk shop. I can see where there might be an intimidating vibe for a newbie, but rest assured these guys want what you want: for you to walk away loving your ink.
The artist I worked with was Brad. He is very friendly and attentive. We worked on the very simple design I asked for until we were both satisfied with the specific look and placement. He made sure the design worked with my anatomy as well as any future desire for tattoos in the same area. I’ll say it again– very professional. The actual ink session was very quick. I was mildly surprised by the price (a little high for such a small tattoo) but you get what you pay for and this was a quality experience. I would however recommend discussing price before you sit down, so you know what to expect and show up with the right amount of cash.

This is a great place to get tattooed. Very comfortable and clean. Henry is awesome! I have some very specific ideas about my tattoo and he didn’t hesitate to rework his drawing for me. (unlike some tattoo «artists» that seem to get offended when you don’t like all of their ideas) Got my outline done and can’t wait til next week to get it finished!
