Superb! Flex Wine Tours is one of the best experiences I’ve had with a tour company. Holden, our guide, was knowledgeable, flexible, friendly and fun to hang with for the day. It was my first trip to Napa with my boyfriend and his parents who had been there several times before. We were so excited to experience several wineries that we never would’ve found on our own (Fontanella is the BEST!!!) We cannot recommend Flex Tours enough. If you want experts in their field who provide stellar service, pair you with the perfect wineries and transport you safely as you tour Napa Valley, Flex is the way to go. Thank you for a wonderful experience. We will be back and I’ll be bringing my family from Virginia on the next trip!

What a great experience! My girlfriend and I were spending the weekend in Napa and glad we saw the Unilocal reviews. We spent a whole day being chauffeured to wineries in the most luxurious and comfortable accommodations (car had cell phone access with a plug, water, snacks). James was knowledgeable, but didn’t over talk. He nailed the itinerary, too. Try Flex. You won’t be disappointed.

Don’t hide! James and Flex nailed our day out in the Napa Valley. He took care to listen to what we wanted and delivered. Safe, knowledgeable and affordable. We’ll be using James again when we return to sample more of Napas finest.

This review is FAR overdue, but as I find myself recommending Flex Wine Tours to friends and colleagues on a regular basis, I figured I should finally get around to writing a my review…
I will start by saying that I live in San Francisco and frequent Napa on a semi-​regular basis, so Wine Country is not completely foreign to me… but I am in no way, shape, or form a wine expert. Some girlfriends were coming to visit from Newport Beach for the weekend and to be honest, no one wanted to do the trip planning research (who does, right!?). We went back and forth with limo company quotes, tried to narrow down which wineries we wanted to visit, and Unilocaled a few downtown Napa dinner spots… but we just couldn’t get it together.
After my 50^th google search regarding transportation, I thankfully stumbled upon Flex Wine Tours. My girlfriends and I were a little hesitant because we did not want to spend a fortune to have a guided tour, but guess what… the cost difference was very small and on average was about the same price as renting a limo. We were SOLD! I sent in a trip inquiry (which was listed on the Flex Wine Tours website) and James got right back to me and asked if we could set up a call so he could get a feel for what the group wanted to get out of the trip. We hopped on a short call and that was it-​he planned out the entire day, including lunch reservations!!! A few days before our trip, he sent out an itinerary with tasting fees and tasting tips (i.e. Paraduxx offers large pours so split them in order to not waste money) AWESOME tip right?!
Me and my 4 girlfriends showed up to our AirBnB in downtown Napa and James was there waiting for us with a CLEAN and spacious car full of snacks, waters, and Red Bull/​Coffee to help us get through the day. As we got to each winery, he suggested what we should taste, snapped a few pictures of us, then went back to the car and we didn’t see him again until it was time to leave. To be honest, we wish he hung with us the whole day because he was AMAZING!!! He was so personable and knowledgeable (he is conveniently a certified Sommelier… fancyyyy) and would have been great company. Our final stop of the day was at a private estate and we had a private tasting… James has connections!!! We were having a ton of fun and lost track of time, and seeing as James is paid by the half hour, he kindly gave me a heads up so there were no surprises when our tour ended. After a few bottles of wine, we didn’t care about the price and appreciated that James let us extend our tour. If you could even believe it, James’ hospitality did not end after he dropped us off for the day. We had no clue where to eat for dinner so we text him for recommendations. Not only did he suggest some dinner spots, he gave us a list of bars to go to after dinner AND his recommendation for brunch in the morning.
James and his wife Diane are awesome people and I will 100% without a doubt use Flex Wine Tours again in the future.

Everything was amazing in Napa, but taking FLEX was the best part! Diane was knowledgable, kept us on track and showed us the best places around Napa! I highly recommend spending your day with her touring different wine venues! She even walks in with you and snaps pictures while you’re having fun… Hands down– great experience!!!

I selected Flex Wine tours for a girls trip in October based on rave reviews on Tripadvisor. I spoke with James over the phone and let him know that it was the first time in Napa for everyone on the trip except me and we discussed what kind of experience I was looking for. The customization of the itinerary was excellent!
Diane was our driver and guide for the day, she arrived promptly and we were off! The selection of wineries were excellent and all had amazing views (one of my requirements when I talked with James :)) Even the lunch stop at Napa Style Café was amazing!
Diane was fantastic throughout the day! She discreetly took pictures of us throughout the day as well as some posed shots. Our last stop was William Hill and was a fantastic place to end the day. Great wine and a great view! We enjoyed Diane so much throughout the day, we ended up talking her into going out to dinner with us that evening!
I will definitely use Flex Wine Tours again and recommend them to anyone taking a trip to Napa!

My sisters and I had the BEST time with Diane during our Flex Wine Tour. She was so personable and easy to be with. Very informative as well. She and James chose excellent wineries for us to visit. I was surprised with the spaciousness of the Flex itself. Easy to get in and out of, plus each person gets their own snack selection!
By the end of our tour, we left with a new friend in Diane.
I will definitely tour with them again, as well as recommend them to all of my friends.

It’s unfortunate that James is in denial about Diane and that rather than take responsibility he is choosing to be defensive. She texted us «catty bitches» and made racially inappropriate comments about people who work at Walmart. I would say that’s not great for business and people have a right to know what we experienced. She did not provide a nice day for our group; I don’t know why James would try to assert that she did. We canceled our last stop, we cut our wine tasting short and went home. This is not a personal attack, it a recount of the experience we had with Flex wine tours. We opted not to complain until we got the photos because we didn’t want this company to withhold them from us. We did leave a nice tip… because we are not catty bitches.

James took us for an all day tour of lower Napa valley and it was the highlight of our entire trip to California. The day before we took the bike tour with Napa Valley Bikes which was great — but it only highlighted what an unbelievable job Flex does. Jame took us to wineries where we were able to meet 1:1 with the owners and wine makers. This is THE WAY TO VISIT WINERIES! Never again will I be satisfied going to a stock tasting at one of the major labels. I highly suggest you tell James your preferences in wine and let him choose the venues.
Flex has access to boutique estates where you can spend 1 – 2 hours learning about their approach to making wine and visiting their estate. This is absolutely a bucket list item you will want to check off more than once.

This is the second time I’ve used Flex Wine Tours for a Napa visit, and it’s been a great experience each time. James was our driver in both 2012 and 2013, and he is extremely knowledgeable and well connected in the area. You’ll be able to enjoy wine country stress-​free, whether you’ve been there before or come for the first time.

What can I say… WOW!!! James– You spoiled me & my sister! I cant see a trip to Napa being done any other way!
I did a lot of research and knew a limo was not the way to go~ too big and bulky to get around in. I came across Flex Wine Tours and was impressed by all the great reviews so I sent James an email. I’m so happy that I did!
The reason for our trip was a «Sister’s Weekend Getaway». Neither of us had been to Napa and the only thing we knew about wine is that we like to drink it. James was very helpful from the moment I contacted him. He was very knowledgeable about the area, the wineries and the wine itself.
We visited The Reynolds Family Winery, Regusci Vineyards (one of our fav’s– had tons of fun there), Paraduxx, and William Hill Winery (the views here are amazing!). James walked us into each stop and would make sure we were getting the royal treatment. He saved us a few tasting fee’s (when we purchased) and made sure we would get tastings of the «good stuff».
The vehicle was very comfortable and smooth riding. There was lost of room for us and the wine we purchased. The Bonus for us was him taking pictures of the trip and sending them after we returned home. (mine would have been horrible after all that wine)
Keeping two Texas Gals on schedule while drinking can be a lil bit like herding cats– He did an amazing job at keeping us on schedule and did it with a smile!
We will be using Flex Wine Tours again for sure!

Four of us took a tour over the Fourth of July weekend and it couldn’t have gone better. The wineries we toured were all very different and great. Thanks again!

My friend’s wife was planning a trip to Napa for his 30^th birthday and my fiancé and I decided to join them. I’ve been to Sonoma previously and did the normal wine tour where you go to big wineries, pay the tasting admission, run the gauntlet and leave. The FLEX tour couldn’t have been more different. I didn’t read any reviews here previously so I didn’t know what we were getting into for the two days of tastings. If I did, I would have been going into this trip with extremely high expectations and I still would not have been disappointed.
Diane picked us up the first day in the Ford Flex and I was glad to see an SUV since I’m 6’4″. The car was very spacious, loaded with water and snacks, and had great viewing areas to see countryside. Diane was an absolute sweetheart and told us all about the region and some of the wineries that we passed on our way to the first tour and everyone in our group was immediately put at ease with her friendly demeanor. Our first stop was to a fairly exclusive winery that usually only gives tours to its wine club members but James and Diane got us in and it was spectacular. Then we went to another winery that hadn’t given a tour in 3 months but the owner allowed us to visit because of James and Diane. We sat on his patio drinking wine while staring at the vineyard in his backyard. It was amazing. Then we went into the owner’s personal wine cellar for even more wine!
I forgot to mention that my friend’s wife who booked the trip has a really long conversation with James prior to our arrival in which James could get a feel for the kind of wines that we liked. We had some amazing Zins, Cabs, and an exceptional Merlot which usually gets a bad rap.
We went to a few more wineries with Diane and whenever a host was finished giving us their spiel about their vineyard and wine Diane would jump in and add some great extra info about what we were drinking.
The next day with James was just as great. Yet again, the group and James hit if off early and we constantly quizzed him about wine and the surrounding area and he never failed to tell us something interesting. It never hurts to have a sommelier drive you around wine country. We went to some more amazing wineries and overall had a blast.
I could go on forever about this trip but I don’t want to keep you from booking your own adventure with James and Diane. Oh yea, they also take great pictures during the tour so instead of having to worry about snapping photos the whole time you can just sit back, relax, and enjoy the wine.

I’d give FWT 6 stars if Unilocal allowed! Just finished two days of wine tours with Flex. James drove us the first day and Diane the second day. Each day was filled with great wine tastings at small wineries where we received personalized attention. The Ford Flex vehicles are great for seeing wine country, comfortable and well stocked with things to keep the wine from sneaking up on you. James is amazingly knowledgable about all things wine and Napa and shared it in a fun and informative way. He also made lunch reservations and provided recommendations for dinner locations. My wife, daugher, and I had so much fun, tasting wines and learning from both James and Diane. They listened to our interests and set up a perfect agenda. Do not pass up the opportunity to enjoy the serives of Flex Wine Tours.

Flex Wine Tours provides an amazing and personal experience. The owners take the time to understand your wine interests and tailor the day perfectly for you. The cars are fun and comfortable, and the drivers are very knowledgeable about the area. You will not be disappointed. When I come back to Napa, I look forward to spending another day with Flex Wine Tours.

We had an AMAZING time with James and Flex Wine tours.
Originally, we were going to plan our own tour but it was almost impossible to choose from the 100’s of wineries. So after a little research online and getting a few recommendations for Flex Wine Tours, I reached out to James. I was a little leery of not wanting to hire a chauffeur versus a real knowledgeable tour guide.
James, a local Napa resident, quickly made a positive impression after he responded to my email with a phone call and started asking questions and gathering information in order to create our own custom winery tour specific to the food and types of wines we enjoy. He had everything planned out from the private tours to the picnic lunch from a local market store.
The Flex vehicle he picks you up in was perfect; plenty of head room for me being 64, big windows to view the valley and even a refrigerated cooler that James pre-​stocked with water, vitamin water and juices.
We thoroughly enjoyed James vast knowledge of not only the wines, being that he’s a sommelier, but his close friendships and familiarity with the local vineyard owners and management. As a result, each winery tour was a personable and memorable experience.
Another added plus is that he takes candid photos along the way of the entire tour and sends them to you as part of the package.
Thanks again for a GREAT time James. We’ll see you next time!

Flex Wine Tours is amazing! this past weekend the boyfriend and i decided to use Flex tours while on our trip to NAPA… we had a 100 $ voucher but james prices are very reasonable! James was very helpful in suggesting restaurants and things to see even before the official tour the next day… our driver was CARLOS and he was great!!! very good guy! i really liked that james added some good spots to our itinerary! all around Flex tours is a great service and i will def. be using them again on my next trip! THANKS YOU GUYS!
