We are a young & passionate hospitality company founded in 2010, and have quickly emerged as one of the most influential forces in hospitality in Napa. Helmed by its visionary founders-​brother in arms Rick Zaslove and Mike Zaslove with partner Eiko Nakamura. Eiko Nakamura was established in Napa Valley for over 20 years in the restaurant industry and now brings a new dimension of sushi restaurant to Napa Valley. We believe hospitality, like art, is not something to confine to one definition alone. Rather, we see hospitality as fluid and ever changing, influenced by culture, preference and an innate desire in us all to enjoy something meaningful. With this in mind, our company allows guests to customize their lifestyle experiences and enables them to stay, eat and play with a seamlessness never before realized.

Manager

Executive Chef, Jake Rand, a native of Charlottesville, VA., started as a kitchen assistant at the age of 14. He had no idea that what started as a mere job to get through school would turn into a lifelong career. At age 19 Rand moved to Colorado with hopes of attending college, at the same time, Rand got the opportunity to apprentice at Denver’s #1 Sushi Restaurant, Sushi Den. Rand also received a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Colorado in International Affairs, emphasizing Japanese studies. While his career was taking large steps, Rand decided to move to Shimoto, Japan and there received a vast amount of valuable tips and trades from renounced Sushi Chefs right in Japan. When he came back to the United States, Rand settled in Denver and helped open a Sushi Bar at the Ritz Carlton hotel. While working there Rand received praise and honorable mentions, awarding the «Best Sushi Bar» title in Denver.

I like this restaurant. Servers were very kind and quick to serve foods to us. In addition my family felt they served better foods there such as hamachi Bön Bön, Sushi, and Gyoza. My son evaluated their foods very good by his strict stand point and I was also satisfied with many foods there for our fm dinner. I really recommend to eat hamachi Bön Bön there as appetizer and sushi there especially hamachi, ikura, bincho, and hirame.

This was a major disappointment. A group of 7 well dressed women wanting a nice dinner and evening and we ask for a table and are told «we can’t accommodate a party of that size» looking around we saw several 4 top tables and with no alternative, we kindly asked about possibly separating our group. Then asked about bar seating and then the waitress approached the staff and lousy said «you need to do something about these girls» and we were then told the bar seating was not open seating. After feeling like unwanted patrons and being corralled around the restaurant, we kindly gave our business to another restaurant in Napa. Good luck in the future. Once they decide to treat their customers with respect, possibly these reviews can improve

Came here last Saturday night after a boozy day of wine in Napa. We were ravenous after our day out and were glad we made the reservation and headed right over from the winery.
I love sushi and was excited to try somewhere new. The food was great, very fresh and yummy! we had the octopus poke, heirloom tomato roll, shrimp tempura roll, scallops and crab roll — everything was perfect.
I felt this restaurant lacked ambiance and the staff were not very friendly or happy! the hostess didn’t acknowledge our reservation and our server didn’t seem to care it we were good or not. So my rating is for the food rather than service!

I’m only leaving a one star because I have to. My husband and I wanted something on the lighter fare so we decided to try this place, since it’s right by our hotel. The reviews weren’t great, but we decided to give it a shot.
First of all, we decided to sit outside since they had two fireplaces and a few heat lamps. We waited for ten minutes before anyone even walked up to our table. When someone did finally show up, they just dropped off the soy and plates. Nothing else was said. Then we waited for another 5 – 8 minutes for a server. He finally greeted us, and we ordered 2 apps and 3 sushi rolls. The lettuce wraps were absolutely terrible. No flavor and drenched in sauce. The spicy tuna pizza was the only thing that was actually ok. The sushi rolls had no flavor, and the spicy mayo must have been the worst spicy mayo I have ever had. There was no spicy to it at all.
During dinner, we did not get one refill, nor inquiries of how we like the food or do we have everything. I also read that if you check in on Unilocal,you will get a free edamame app. I asked for it and showed the waiter I checked in, but he never brought it. We couldn’t ask for it again because he never came back.
Not to mention, the area outside was terribly messy and trashy all around. What’s worse is that we dropped a $ 100 on pretty much garbage.

Fun atmosphere, good food, great people.
I usually sit at the bar area (cocktails go well with the theme, wine list spot on)…and enjoy the company of fellow patrons and employees.
The crab Bön Bons are melt in your mouth delicious… order these and you will not be disappointed. Do it! If you like crab… just do it!
The ribs… the bone will be the only thing staring back at you as you lick your fingers… glazed with a hoisin sauce.
I’m a tuna fan and also like it spicy… Hot Mama and Spicy a’s are my go to rolls.
Also…has nice outside fire pit seating and beautiful woodwork inside.

Love this place! Every time I go to Napa I make sure I make time to stop in. Love grabbing cocktail & appetizer outside by fire pits prior to sitting down for a great dinner.

I love this place! I’ve been coming here for a few years now, and I’ve always had nothing but the friendliest, most attentive service, and the food has never once let me down. Always fresh, always delicious.
DEFINITELY try the hamachi bon bons. And the Ricky Ricardo on vacation. And the seven spice tuna salad. Everything. Just order everything, it’s all so good and so beautifully presented.
The wine list is extensive and wonderful as well. Cocktails are a wee tiny bit on the sweet side for my taste, but I always opt for a bottle of bubbles anyway.
I’m seeing some reviews on here that are a little puzzling to me. You can’t expect to get seated immediately on a Saturday night without a reservation if you are a party of 7. That just doesn’t make any sense.

Eiko’s is a favorite of both locals and visitors alike. As someone who eats at Eiko’s about once a week, the fish is ALWAYS fresh. I stand by the fact that the sashimi is probably the best I’ve had. The way it is cut, the size, the freshness is all spot on. Want something special? Just ask. The entire team is always very accommodating.
I see people here complaining about the service. When you have a hot kitchen and a sushi bar, items are not going to come out in unison or in an order you may want. Go to ANY sushi restaurant, and you will see the same timing.
Excellent food. Great prices. Fantastic staff.

Ambiance: New, modern and clean. There’s a dining room and cute bar area. Location is prime downtown Napa off Main Street.
Food: Wasn’t exactly blown away by any one dish. Lots to choose from so you’ll definitely find something you like.
Sashimi is just straight up fish on ice. No sauce or toppings. I would prefer thinly cut pieces in ponzu, but that’s just me.
Chili shrimp is yummy but a bit too sweet and heavy.
Price: $$$
Service: Very standard, no frills, yet friendly and fast.

I cannot believe how poorly my family and I were treated at this place. As noted on previous reviews, management, in particular Allicin, supposedly the owners daughter sucked. Who allows their family members to run a business when they obviously have no customer service skills. I guess she needed the work and could not find it elsewhere. I am all for family run businesses but you best believe when they are not qualified that sucks for the customer and she is NOT QUALIFIED. We were humiliated with the treatment we received and hope this review initiates communiqué from the owners. Please see the review from Patricia H. for details of our horrible experience. Let’s work on this. This could be a lesson to learn and do better or a great loss of business.

The worst service I’ve ever experienced. The owners daughter Allison who is also the GM has remedial hospitality skills! She should not be allowed to call her self anything beyond back of the house staff! Myself and 6 friends were looking forward to an early dinner. We walked in at 6:15 and were told the wait would be almost 2 hours. We offered to split our party and asked if there were any seats?
Again, we were told nothing.. Now there were numerous tables open and even when we left no bodies were in the seats. We asked if there was additional seating and were told we could sit in the lounge. When I went to speak with Allison I happened to witness 2 ladies come in and be offered a table.. When I brought this to Allison’s attention she stated «She didn’t want to break up our group». When the decision was made by my party to leave again Allison was quite clear to apologize for our feelings of mistreatment. Never once took responsibility for her horrible treatment and service. When I have the opportunity to share how outlandish this experience was.. I have no choice but to voice my disgust and absolute anger to this type of service and or the lack thereof!

This is one of my friend’s favorite Japanese places in town because according to him, they have excellent service and good food at great prices.
So I’m torn about how to really rate this place. Do they really deserve a low rating because the one time I go, the service was really really bad? I think they forgot about us. We were sitting at the bar, and we had to ask about where our food was, and then they had to ask around for our food. We watched groups come and go at the bar. As a sign of how long our wait was, my back started to hurt because their bar chairs are ridiculously uncomfortable — my ass is usually likely to start hurting before my back. By the time we finished our food, we pretty much the last to leave, and we didn’t show up late either.
Food–
* check in on Unilocal,you get complimentary edamame — I love edamame. This did not disappoint.
* Shishito peppers — I’ve never had them before, and supposedly, they’re usually not spicy — there were a few spicy ones in there. We asked for the tempura ones — we got the pan roasted ones. We sent them back, and got the right ones, and they were pretty good.
* we ordered a few other rolls, but they weren’t that memorable. I was pretty hangry when they finally came out, so I can’t really comment on it.
* they did give us some complimentary ice cream pops that were really cool to watch them make with liquid nitrogen. I would definitely come back for these pops. They were delicious — I am an ice cream snob, so that’s saying something.
I think I’m going to have to give this place another try to really find out if my friend steered me wrong or not.

This place is a great stop for visitors coming to Napa. Their take on Japanese fusion is on point! Spare ribs, scallops, sashimi, and not to mention their healthy fries are so delicious!
You can come here for any occasion with family or a significant other. Their service is great and ensure that your experience here is perfect!
If you’re in town and craving asian fusion, you should definitely stop by here at eikos.

This is probably my go-​to place for sushi locally where interesting and fun rolls are available. Good hot items as well. The food is solid, never a bad or bland item. The only place I see needing improvement is the service which is sometimes on point and other times lacking. Slow and huge gaps between interaction which can leave a patron waiting a while wanting to order more or needing something. Perhaps the crew is spread too thin, in which case it’s a management issue. If they cleaned that up, I’d have no complaints.

The management has NO CLUE on how to care for local patrons. My wife and I would go to Eikos back in the day the restaurant was owned by the restaurants namesake «Eiko». The spirit of Eiko is clearly vanished from the business. More than once, we had issues with our meal and/​or the bill. The manager, who is the daughter of the owner, is rude, defensive and clearly does know much about the hospitality industry. In Napa where we have so many choices this young lady is quick to dismiss a customer.
We have been enjoying Morimotos ever since.
Maybe the owner could get the manager some training or a new manager may help. The restaurant has chefs trained by Eiko, who are great people and loyal.
Hopefully some changes get made.

Decent sushi. The place attracts a different crowd, and It turns into a nightclub on some night.
