Chablis Inn

My friend and I attended Bottlerock for the weekend and prior to the festival were looking for a place to stay close by. Even though we’re somewhat local coming from the East Bay, we really wanted the full «girl’s weekend» experience by staying right in Napa and being able to travel to the venue easily.
Unfortunately, we were having such a hard time finding a place not already sold out that was still within the city and affordable. However, about a week before, my friend found an awesome deal for the Chablis Inn online and jumped on it right away. For $ 249/​night, we were thrilled to have snagged the last room.
That Friday we drove up to Napa in the morning and arrived at the Chablis Inn. We’d hoped that we could check in early but were told by the woman at the front desk they would not let us check in before 3pm. We left for an hour to grab lunch, then came back to get our room keys so we could at least access our room after the festival (and since the front desk closed at 10pm). We walked by our room while it was being cleaned to test out our room keys, only to be told by the housekeeping service that they would be finished in 10 minutes. We were appreciative to have gotten in to our room early and could unpack before heading for Day 1 of the festival.
The room was perfect — nothing fancy but had all the amenities we needed. The king bed was super comfortable. There was also a great mini bar area with a mini fridge and microwave, along with a spacious bathroom, TV, and desk area.
We had a great time all weekend long at Bottlerock and the Chablis Inn. Just what we needed for an awesome time and it will be a hotel we’ll consider if decide to go again next year!

My friend and I stayed here for Bottlerock weekend and found it fulfilled our needs perfectly. The bed was super comfy which was much needed after a full weekend of rocking! They had a cute little wet bar too, perfect for a little pre-​game. The hotel is a block away from the Vine (Napa’s shuttle) so that made getting to a from the festival super easy. It is a pretty tiny hotel so they were only open till 10PM but they were able to give us our key before we left for the festival. We ran by and checked to make sure the keys worked to find they were finishing cleaning the room and we were able to get settled at Noon. The room was clean and we never saw any bugs like other reviews have claimed. On the last morning our toilet broke and almost overflowed but they were accommodating about it and we were leaving anyways so it wasn’t a big deal.

We weren’t looking for anything fancy, just a place to crash after Bottlerock. All was fine until a GINORMOUS cockroach crawled by on the floor! Called the front desk and was told that we must’ve brought it with us.

The worst hotel I have ever stayed at. I called the front desk to let them know that we just arrived to our room after attending a show to find a massive cockroach on the floor. Mind you we checked into our hotel room at 1130pm. She states that the hotel does not have cockroaches but people do. And people bring them to her hotel. I inquired what she would like me to do with the roach and she said put it outside. She was the rudest customer service person I have ever encountered. $ 279 a night to sleep with roaches!!! That’s the biggest joke ever. I don’t even think I’ll be able to sleep. Do yourself a favor and don’t ever stay here!!! I’m all for a clean place to lay your head but this is disgusting.

This place is the best value for your $ in Napa. Clean, quite comfortable, spacious rooms. My experience has been great.

Never Again! The room had dead bugs in the bathtub. The pillows were filled with lumps. The dresser that had the TV on it had three drawers. Only one worked. Yes, it is cheap. You get what you pay for!

Do not go!
Rooms are freezing with single pane windows. Only one very light weight blanket in the room. The heater is so loud it sounded like a garbage truck was right next to us. Their customer service is non existent. Over priced and not worth the stay. When we asked for a refund we were rudely told… NO. My husband and I went expecting a romantic getaway and the only thing we wanted to do is get away from this Inn.

My family enjoyed our overnight stay at The Chablis Inn. The price was very affordable and the accommodations were really comfortable. This facility was spot on for our family needs providing comfy beds, fabulous shower head stream (which in CA has become a valuable asset), close to a variety of eateries, shopping mall, fuel stations and of course Napa’s tourist attractions. Love watching the slow moving Napa Wine Train pass by in the early evening (no need for earplugs) and the setting moon. We will stay here again when visiting Napa.

A great little getaway spot. The beds were big and comfortable, the room was clean and spacious.
Some reviews stated bugs and a lack of cleanliness but our experience was bug free and very clean.
I would definitely stay here again.

Our room was full of bugs /​cockroach, this was disgusting. When we complained, we were told that is totally normal, that it is always like that. Would not recommend or go back there again.

The short story:
Rooms are gross, hotel staff is rude, way over priced… Motel 6 is probably nicer and provides better service…
The long one:
First of all, the website is terrible for booking and is not user friendly. We booked two rooms, but when I called to confirm the reservation days before checking in they only had one. This could have been my fault, but to make matters worse when I called they said they had one room left but the rate I paid originally online was no longer available and I had to pay almost twice the rate for the second room. Bait and switch??? Make sure you confirm reservations with the hotel after booking and check your email confirmation carefully (which I failed to do). They were not willing to match the room rate, even after asking them to check with the manager and explaining this was a once in a lifetime trip for my mom (who is battling cancer) with her daughters and grand daughters. When I tried to share my moms story with the hotel over the phone they didn’t show any compassion or understanding whatsoever for my moms situation. I even asked them if there was anything nice they could do for my mom, we would be appreciative (room upgrade or whatever) and they didn’t do anything.
There is no elevator here, so if anyone in your party has trouble with stairs be sure to clarify that when booking. When we checked in we were on the 2^nd floor and we had someone in our party who struggles with stairs. We thought it would be okay, but it wasn’t. When I explained this to them the front desk clerk was rude and acted like we were inconveniencing them and said the only way they would move us was if we hadn’t touched anything in the room. Since someone used the bathroom they refused to move us. So one of our guests didn’t go out to dinner with us that night because she was worried about making it back up the stairs.
The walls in the rooms were dirty and desperately in need of fresh paint. There was a missing painting above one of the beds and a dirty nail still in the wall. The blinds are old, dirty and didn’t work properly. One of the windows in our rooms was broken and the shattered glass hadn’t been replaced. To open the window (which was necessary to get the smoke smell out) you had to use a hanger to prop it open because the window wouldn’t stay up.
The designated smoking area was at the bottom of the stairs under our room. There were large gaps around our door so anytime someone smoked, we could smell the smoke in our room.
To top it all off, when we were loading up to leave we locked keys in one of the rooms and I had to go to the front desk to ask for a key to get back in. The front desk clerk was extremely rude and accusatory right off the bat. She asked me how many people were in my room and implied that we were trying to rip off the hotel. I clarified to her we had two rooms and that we had already told her how many people were in our party, we weren’t violating any room occupancy rules and she backed off.
I will never stay here again. The rooms are way over priced. You do not get what you pay for. The pictures they post of the rooms must be old because they are not that fresh looking.

This place is great! For the price, you can’t beat it. The room was clean, comfortable, and has a mini fridge. The bed was very comfortable. Definitely exceeded our expectations. If you are on a budget, and want comfy place to stay, Chablis is the way to go.

Visited Napa for 1 night. This place did the job as a place to sleep. It was clean, the woman at the front desk (assuming manager or owner) was great help in pointing out some wineries for the last minute trip.

This little gem has the charm of being centrally located in Napa Vally. It’s also conveniently close to to the freeway to get to all of the hot spots on your way to St Helena. They are in the middle of a renovation but it was nice and clean for our stay. The help and management were accommodating to our needs and we will be back as the price was quite affordable. Local market is right across the street with some nice anchor shops.

Enjoyed my stay, great value, cute, comfy & clean. Close to shops, grocery, cafes, restaurants and downtown Napa. Good quality bed. SPACIOUS guest rooms.

I want to start by saying, I’ve never stayed at this hotel…
However, my experience prior to booking a room deterred me from actually committing to a reservation.
I called the front desk to acquire information, and the lady answered the phone with a simple greeting of «HELLO». She didn’t say the name of the hotel, nor give her name, or a thanks for calling. While this may seem like a small infraction, it definitely spoke volumes to the quality of service or lack thereof. Hence, I booked a reservation at another hotel. Their loss.

The Inn is a great place to stay at for a reasonable price. It looks like an older property, so don’t expect all the bells and whistles of a new resort if you stay here.
It was nice that there was a microwave and coffee machine in our room.
If you forget your cork opener, don’t be shy ask them if you can borrow theirs!

The Chablis Inn did a perfect job of providing what we needed, which was a place to rest our head at a reasonable price. We were only staying in Napa one night while on our way to Sonoma, so we didn’t really need a lot of amenities that we were not going to use. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. The A/​C worked well, and the water pressure in the shower was decent. The gentleman at the front desk was nice and helpful, and the property was in a good spot, with easy access to some restaurants and shops either within walking distance or just a very short drive away.
The one drawback to the stay was the location of our room. Our flight was delayed 2 hours, so by time we checked in that evening there wasn’t really anything that could be done about it as the hotel was full. We were in room 101, which is about 20 yards from a very busy road. Additionally, it is right by the stairs to the second floor, so between road noise along with people coming and going it could be a bit noisy at times. Also, curtains in the room in addition to the blinds would make a world of difference in keeping the room dark at night.
Even with that being said, we would stay at the Chablis Inn again if only passing through for the night again. We would just want to avoid room 101 if at all possible.

This place was pretty good, better than I was expecting for the price. It’s perfect if you have a car, since it’s about a 15 minute drive away from downtown Yountville.
The room was clean, and the bathroom has a large tub with jacuzzi jets, which I used a few times (biking around Napa all day is exhausting!). The outdoor pool and hot tub were unfortunately down due to earthquake damage while we were there. I would have liked to use those, but maybe next time.
The location was also much better than I had expected. Across the street was a small shopping plaza, which included a pizza place, a little burger place, a dry-​cleaners, a Starbucks (thank goodness!) and small natural foods grocery store called Vallerga (basically like a small Whole Foods– it was great!).
I was able to walk over and get coffee every morning, and we grabbed some good food from Vallerga and had deliciously unhealthy burgers from the little burger joint.

When the best thing you can say about a motel is that it was cheap, there’s something wrong.
We were given a room, unpacked our car and hauled stuff across the parking lot. The room was still being cleaned. Are you kidding me?
B went back to the front desk, they told us we were wrong, then the front desk lady proceeded to go yell at the woman cleaning the room. Um, it’s her fault? And btw, this little white girl isn’t so white and understood everything you said.
The bathroom was awful. Half of the tiles were cracked and I stubbed my toe pretty badly on them. The faucet dripped. There weren’t any blackout shades — just cheap blinds. It’s napa, we’re all hungover and need to sleep it off. Not here. You get sunlight at early o’clock as well as serious traffic noise ²⁴⁄₇. (This comes from a girl who once lived alongside highway 101 near San Francisco airport!)
Spend more and stay at a decent place. I think we would have been better at motel 6 next door. Or splurge and stay at the marriot. It’s worth it.
