So happy to have found out that there was a Cabi outlet! I had been invited to a home showcase in the past and the clothes that I got from there have held up very well. So when I found out that there was an actual store around the Bay Area I was excited! Its a very well organized store and the staff is super friendly. They have fans blowing perfume in the store store, so those with sensitive noses beware(A la Abercrombie, although not as horrible), although I actually liked it. I got a couple of cute tops that were on sale(woot!) and fit really well. I’ll be back Cabi!

A few years ago Cabi invitations began lining my inbox. People I knew well and people I knew only tangentially began inviting me to their«Cabi Party» which, in all honesty, resembles no party I’ve ever thrown. In fact, calling it a «Cabi Party» debases the word party. For comparison, think«Tupperware Party»(another non-starter) but with women’s clothing replacing plastic leftover holders. The construct of Cabi is that Carol Anderson(the C-A in Cabi) was a designer who grew tired of the demands placed upon her by retailers and decided to sell directly to her customers through in-home shows. People host shows, invite friends, and a Cabi representative comes to pull the whole thing together, and take your purchase orders. The clothes are well presented and look cute and the event, while not«party fun», can be fun. Some problems with the«Cabi Party» are: * You can try everything on but there’s only a limited number of sizes available for try-on at a party. * Any clothes you purchase are delivered to you post-party, several weeks later. * You can return purchases that don’t work out but… oh lord, it’s just clothes. I don’t want to ship things back and forth. * The clothes aren’t dear but neither are they inexpensive. Think $ 80 and up for most pieces and nothing is on sale during the party. * «Party»? The solution to most of this is the Cabi Factory Outlet. The styles may not be those from the current season’s collection but that doesn’t matter. This isn’t Dolce & Gabbana. The factory store can still be pricey and they take no returns, but the overall price is less than the original price, they often have special deals(e.g. buy one get 2nd one at 50% off) and you’ll get to try it on and walk out with your purchase the same day. I admit that I’ve purchased some clothing here that I really like and receive compliments on but something about the Cabi brand embarasses me in a way I don’t recall feeling about any other clothing line. I can’t put my finger on the reason, but if I slip off a Cabi jacket amongst company I’m always trying to cover up the Cabi label. Maybe it’s the whole party thing and maybe I should just remove the label. Whatever. If you like Cabi clothes and would like to get them for less money than you can at the home parties, this store is worth your time.
