Beads Mosaic

It was a nice surprise to find this shop somewhat close by to where I live. There’s not a ton of bead shops around and it’s nice to have some unique selections you can’t always find at michaels, etc.
There’s a very nice selection here and you can get pretty much any semi precious stone you want. Some items are a bit pricy but others are the standard price for the great quality you get. The main thing I loved was the many strands of semi precious stones along the walls. Also, compared to the other bead shops in the area, I want to note that all the beads I looked at here were clearly labeled as to what they were. A lot of bead shops just label as semi precious and you’re not sure exactly what you’re getting. So I appreciate the labeling here.

The only thing that confused and slightly frustrated me is that you aren’t supposed to remove the bead strands from their hook yourself. You bring the whole hook to the register and they remove it. I ve never been in a bead shop where you couldn’t just take it off yourself. If you have several of these, your tray could get a bit heavy. And while one person has the hook, it’s not available to another customer to look at. They do this because they need to scan the one price tag that is attached to each hook. In my experience it’s easier to have each strand color coded or such, to make the price known. Or have the trays sectioned off with diff prices marked and let the customer put items in the proper space. I’ve seen it done a couple diff ways and it’s just so much easier then carrying several whole hooks around.
If you’re into beading and jewelry making, I definitely suggest visiting this shop and checking out the nice selection. They do classes sometimes as well which is a great way to learn new techniques or just make some new friends. The woman at the register who may be the owner was friendly and helpful. This is a nice unique shop.
