Took my car in to get looked over. They were really friendly, fast, courteous, and even gave me a ride home and picked me back up. Definitely recommend

If I could leave zero stars I would.
The transmission in my car was acting up and I couldn’t drive my car faster than 10 miles an hour. I’d heard good things about aamco so I took it there. I quickly learned this was a huge mistake. They told me they needed to do an engine check up and internal transmission test. It came back that I needed a new transmission. The price they gave me was $ 3000. A week later they said it would be done the next day. I called the next day and no answer. Left a message, but no call back. I called the next day, and they finally answered. Said everything is running smoothly and it would be done no later than 11 am the next day. Next day roles around and no call. I has to call them and they said it wasn’t done yet and would be fixed on Monday. They shockingly called me back today and said the engine was perfect and the transmission was running great… BUT…there was something else wrong with the car that they would have had no idea it was bad unless they fixed the engine and transmission. Now two weeks later they still have my car and are trying to charge me $ 4000 (the worth of the entire car) these guys are either mastermind crooks or complete idiots (leaning towards the second one) considering I told them the car wasn’t worth much and I would just trade it in if this was going to be expensive. Now lawyers will be involved and I will never go to these morons ever again. Stay away! Everything about aamco in nampa has been a nightmare. Zero customer service and even worse mechanics. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

This is one of the most comfortable mechanic shops I have been. They always treat me fair and are honest.

This is a relatively new AAMCO shop. My mom has taken her cars there a few times and been very happy with the service. I took her car in for a brake system check because she had the feeling something might be wrong. They set an appt within two days, and said it would take about an hour to check the brakes. I brought it in at the scheduled time, and an hour later left with an ‘everything looks good, no maintenance needed’ diagnosis, no charge. But what really made me take the time to write this review is that while I was waiting for the inspection to be done, another client walked in with battery problems. After some discussion, Mike, the owner, told the client that he’d be better off going down the street to the auto parts store to purchase a new battery because it would save him some money. Also, in watching his interactions with other customers over the phone and in person, I got the feeling that this was a business interested in doing the best for the customer. An admirable thing, I think. Worth a five star review anyway.
