We moved! We are now at m.p. 11 in Pirates Quay Shoppes on the bypass. Waveriders is a great stop for breakfast or lunch. We have amazing Panini pressed breakfast sandwiches, muffins, pastries, bagels, and health-conscious choices like yogurt with fresh fruit (yay!) and many vegetarian options. We carry gluten free bread, bagels and locally made pastries! The lunch selections include a variety of panini pressed sandwiches & wraps all made with the trusted Boar’s Head brand meats and cheeses. Serving Breakfast or lunch any time of the day along with real fruit Smoothies and frozen drinks! Waveriders has free WiFi, of course! The shop offers a laptop bar, main large bar, leather chairs and couches and outdoor seating on the porch. Open 6:30am-4pm Mon-Sat & 6:30−3pm Sunday. Stop in for a Strawberry-Mango Smoothie or a sweet treat anytime!

History

Established in 2011.

Owners Bobbie and Dave enjoy good coffee, healthier breakfast and lunch options in a relaxing atmosphere. The business was started in 2011 in a small location and moved in January 2015 to a much larger location 4 miles north of our old location. We offer ample seating inside at our bar, computer bar, tables, or comfortable lounge furniture. We offer Boars Head meat and cheese’s in our creative panini pressed breakfast and lunch sandwich options. Come relax, hangout and enjoy your time at the beach!

A great lunch or coffee and sweets option. Clean, spacious and friendly. We had pain is: mozzarella, the Chuck and Mr. B and they were just right. Flavorful, filling but not too stuffed. And the beer choices look great. But we’re driving on so next time.

Really liked my sandwich from here. The bread was a little doughy but the fillings more than made up for that. The red pepper hummus is delish and they use real deal jalapeños (not the ones soaked in vinegar). Plenty of signature sandwich options or you can build your own which is what we did. Service was friendly and very laid back.

this place was wonderful! the family and I were looking for a good breakfast sandwich and stumbled upon this little coffee shop/deli hybrid. the sandwiches were delicious and the atmosphere was really great. the staff were super accommodating to our non-dairy and no gluten needs and our breakfast sandwiches and smoothies were delicious, as well as our lattes. a great place for breakfast or lunch for anyone looking for something quick and easy on the outer banks.

Amazing place! Don’t let the exterior fool you. This gem is located in a strip mall that has lots of vacant spaces and doesn’t draw you in from the road. The inside looks like a cool pub with wood and wrought iron and cool pendant lights… cozy tables, sofas and ample seating. Food is great… had the Chuck sandwich and the Waverunner sandwich… both so good! Great beer selection and plenty of wine choices too. They make all of their sides… we had the potato salad and cucumber salad… both were excellent. Definitely coming back to try their breakfast and brunch items.

I rated this a 3 because of the food, but would love to rate it a 1 due to their lack of attention to details such as the amount they charge your credit card. Beware if you shop at Waveriders Coffee & Deli in Nags Head. While they have excellent food and deliver, they are not great with their accounting. I ordered a $ 12.18 meal with a $ 3 tip. When the charge went through, the $ 3 tip turned into a $ 300 tip. This was on Sunday, it is now Wednesday and I still haven’t seen the refund. They are now blaming the delay in my refund on my bank. SO frustrating. If you order from this restaurant, please use cash!

Really good sandwiches with fresh ingredients, lots of choices for sandwich toppings (not just the standard lettuce, tomato, onion), really good coffee, great atmosphere, lots of comfy places to sit, and bonus points for using compostable carry-out containers (no styrofoam!). Oh and nice people. We’ll be back for sure next time we’re in the obx.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. The atmosphere is perfect for a coffee/deli, the vanilla latte is the best latte I have had and the breakfast sandwiches are great. They bring your food and drinks out to you, which is so nice! There are some great study or group meeting areas if you are looking for that kind of scene. People are friendly, they host neat events, overall just a great place to eat, drink and hang out. As a local I would highly recommend coming here.

Update.
We came back for breakfast before hitting the road back home. The friendly staff welcomed us back and even knew what we had the day before, and what we were asking about as well. The place is packed today even though we showed up earlier today.

Skip the touristy spots and just come here. The staff were all super nice, the coffee shop is open and airy with lots of seating options and they have an extensive, reasonably priced menu. I picked up a sweet and salty bagel sandwich and an iced coffee. I’ve never had a cinnamon raisin bagel with bacon but omg, it was delicious.
This is a must visit kind of place. I wish we had one here.

This place was SO good! We went twice on vacation and loved it both times. First, my boyfriend and I went for lunch one day and split a sandwich and grabbed some beers at their bar area. We were really impressed and the sandwich was huge so it was enough to be shared. They had a great beer selection and we got to try some new ones we hadn’t had before. The service was very friendly.
A few days later, we stopped in for breakfast sandwiches and a coffee before heading home. Again, we were impressed with the food and the coffee was really good too! We can’t wait to come back for our next vacation!

Went on a search for a good sandwich place and found this one. This place is great. I’m not usually a sandwich kind of person but the veggie sandwich was particularly good. The hummus on the sandwich leaves a nice after taste and even the pickle was perfectly crispy. Left pretty darn satisfied.

I really wanted a smoothie and the TSC up the street wasn’t open yet, so we found Waveriders on a fluke and decided to stop in.
I got the Strawberry-chocolate-banana smoothie with almond milk. OMG! Best smoothie I’ve ever had! And I’m kind of a smoothie addict!
Also go the Bobs Wrap. So delicious! Definitely coming here again!
The staff was super friendly and helpful! Love this place!
