Lowe’s Home Improvement

I special ordered a screen door online and had it arrive to Store # 2253. I went to customer service to return a roll of tape that I did not need from a previous flooring project. Afterwards, I informed the associate that I was also there to pick up the door. She called an associate to bring it up front for me. I noticed he was using two hands to hold the door. He then propped the door against the counter and said, «Do you need help? It’s NOT heavy.» I could tell in his tone that he would be aggravated if I did, in fact, ask for assistance. I told him no thank you and went along his merry way. After signing off the confirmation for my order with the customer service rep., she then asked me if I needed help outside. I looked her in the eyes, and I knew she could tell I was upset over the way I was spoken to. I did not catch his name, but he resembled Benjamin Franklin. Nevertheless, he was taller and bigger than me. I thanked the customer service rep and told her no thank you, grabbed my door, and headed out in the rain to my vehicle. I am a Business Analyst for one of the greatest credit unions in the country, & I’ve worked in retail for years. I know from experience that business slows down when it rains (unless there is a truck that needs to be broken down). I am upset and shocked by how I was treated by this man. I just ordered flooring from Home Depot last month. Not only did I get help, but TWO gentlemen helped me load my truck. I did not stand around while they helped me either, I was loading up my vehicle as well. I can report this thou, as I was leaving Lowe’s with my door, EVERY associate asked me if I needed help. I was so upset by how I was treated, that I did not want help from anyone, no matter how nice they were to me. In my opinion, the individual that brought my door does not value customer service and that is why I will refrain from shopping at this store.

Not helpful, asked some questions and I was blown off. Not a happy shopper. Went to Home Depot and got answers. I felt I was not given what I wanted because I am a woman!!!
