Nice hotel right off of the beach. Huge lobby area. There is also a gigantic conference area as well. There was some sort of fighters Convention or Conferance during my stay. The lobby also has a gift shop with souvenirs, sodas, snacks, cigerettes and items for travelers. Deodorant, one use laundry detergent, toothpaste, etc. The hotel also has two restaurants. One is only open for dinner and the other from early morning to around 11 pm I think. The other restaurant has a bar too. There’s also a snack bar with Starbucks coffee and pre made sandwiches and snacks. The rooms are apartment style and very spacious. Most rooms have balconies too with great views of the beach. Seperate living room and bedroom with TV’s in both. Bathtub and the toilet are in a seperate room. The living room has a big couch and four person dining table. There’s a seperate counter with a sink, refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. Large pool area with multiple pools and hot tubs. There’s also a great complimentary breakfast with made to order omelettes.

Christmas stay for a min vacay. Ocean front 16th floor room, excellent view and high enough to be able to sleep with the balcony doors open for the cool ocean nighttime breeze and lulling waves. Hotel and room furnishings are dated but the bed was comfortable, room was clean and the shower was big enough for two. The rainfall shower head I loved, the low water pressure I did not, if they could improve the water pressure it would be awesome! Staff was outstanding, very attentive, personable and friendly. Everyone I came in contact with was customer focused. The cooked to order breakfast was good also, full hot breakfast buffet and cooked to order omelette, how can you go wrong. The piece de resistance for me, the nightly managers reception with light snacks and free beverages including house liquors. I had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay and this time of year, it was like having your own private beach. Oh yeah, almost forgot along with the long list of amenities they have, you get a free hour of tennis or racquetball with your stay.

Help! I am here for two nights and I am not sure I’ll make it through the second! The room stinks — a powerful B.O. sort of stink that doesn’t go away no matter how long the patio doors are left open. The sofa cushions are stained and disgusting. The elevator is filthy. There was a stranger’s hair on the bathroom floor when we checked in and it remained there after today’s cleaning. Pretty bad when you have to wash your own bathroom floor after the housekeeping service has come. The people across the hall leave their garbage outside their door — so nice to see every time we walk in and out of the room. The ocean view is lovely and the sound of the waves is some consolation, but overall, this place is Yuck with a capital Y. Hilton invited me here to buy a timeshare(«vacation property»). I just want a time out! Stay away!

I’m staying here one night, from a Sunday to Monday, as part of a longer trip throughout South Carolina. I booked this hotel through the Hilton HHonors app which allows you to not only check in online, but also select your own room. I picked 1811 and it is closer to the beach — although the building is designed so that only the two suites on one end cap of each floor have a full view of the beach and nothing else. First, the signage is pretty subtle, but another reviewer posted a photo of the sign, so I knew what to look for and where to turn in. The pros: these are suites, typical of Embassy Suites, with a separate living room area, refrigerator and microwave, small non-Keurig coffee maker. The bed was well appointed with pillows of different thicknesses to choose from. The property also has a gift shop, Starbucks coffee shop(although the coffee in the rooms is CBTL, which seems strange), a grill restaurant and a more upscale restaurant on site so you might never need to leave here if you are staying at the resort. As is typical of ES, they also have the manager’s reception in the evening and breakfast in the morning. My first beef with this property was right after check-in. I called to the front desk to inquire about a late checkout(on a Monday, in the middle of September and far from the busy season). I was told that the property was fully booked for Monday and they could not accommodate my request. It sounded like the same woman that checked me in, who was aware I used the app for my booking. Check out is at 11 and I’m from Phoenix, so that’s 8 am my time. Using the Hilton HHonors app, I checked on that statement and learned that it was not true. I would have been able to book a room just like mine for tonight if I weren’t moving on today. Seriously negative points for not making a slight accommodation that could have easily been made. I took a bath with some bath powder later in the evening and the color from the powder discolored what appears to be a fairly thick ring of soap scum in the tub. Then I found quite possibly the largest roach I’ve ever see wandering around the bathroom. Now, I get that there’s a balcony and this is the beach and stuff might fly in the open door sometimes, but this bug does not appear to be the kind that can fly. Others reviewers complained that the outdoor furniture is old and that’s true, but it doesn’t ruin the lovely patio. But, bottom line is that the first request for hospitality was shut down without the courtesy of the truth. I won’t be staying here again.

The pool is disgusting with trash and dirty yellow foam floating in top. So cloudy I could barely see my toes. Would rather risk sharks and swim in ocean. Kids pool cleaner. The pool bathrooms are… ugh…just filthy! Toilets stopped up, no toilet paper, yuck all over floors, smelly… At 6:15pm every table at the poolside bar was un-bussed. Every one! Ordered ice cream from room service tonight. Delivered very fast but it was old and had the«it’s been in the freezer for months» film on it. Not impressed. Brandon, server in the restaurant was very nice, food decent. Floor dirty. Lots of empty tables left un-bussed Nice to see healthy options on kids menu. Staff very nice but hotel is dirty.

As an honors diamond member, I was really looking forward to staying here. Check in, lobby/bar area are awesome. View from the room and unlimited beverage manager reception double awesome. Breakfast was great. The beach access was superb. The bed may have been the most comfortable bed that I’ve slept in at any property and I’ve easily been to 500+ properties. I struggled with 3 vs 4 stars because the room itself could use a décor/paint touch up but it is very spacious. A little worn because it’s definitely a popular place. Not anything that 99% of guests would mind but I pay attention to small details. There was also a bit of a wait for the elevator but that’s expected for a large property. I decided on 4 stars because I would definitely visit again. Plus when you are right on the water who spends a ton of time in the room.

My family and I go to check in and they have canceled our room with no new rooms open for us so they put us in their«villa»(more like a tiny apartment) for the night. The villas back door was unlocked and open, there was leftover dry food in the sink, there was cokes and candy in the fridge, when we walked into the bedroom there was a spider crawling up the wall, there was popcorn stuck to the side of the couch, and the bathrooms were nasty with hair on the toilets. It was a very unpleasant stay I do not recommend it!

I had to check in through here for Kingston Plantation. I guess the night checking in thingy was a bad idea as they had only 2 people at the desk. They were very informative, actually too informative and this contributed to the long wait because they told you a pretty good summary of all the features of the place when anyone could read it from the paper they hand you. I love this place though. I’ve stayed with them before.

I have been staying at this resort practically my entire life. Every year my family takes our annual 4th of July beach trip and stay at the Embassy. Recently we just decided to stay in a condo for our 13th annual beach trip, but luckily this condo was right next to the hotel and we still received all of the amenities offered through Embassy Suites. However, after staying at this hotel for 12 years in a row, I can’t say one bad thing about any of those times. This place NEVER disappoints. There are two large pools, a waterpark with a lazy river, an outdoor bar and restaurant, live music and entertainment, an activity hut for kids, two restaurants indoors, and a coffee shop. Those are just a few of the things that I can think of off the top of my head but I know there are plenty more amenities at Embassy Suites. The breakfast buffet every morning almost seems too good to be true. There is a made-to-order station where you can order practically anything, a hot buffet, and large selection of pastries, bagels, breads and spreads, cereal, fruit yogurt, and an endless variety of beverages. And, of course, this hotel is beach front and every suite has its own balcony. Everything here is VERY kid friendly and this is an amazing family resort. I have made some of the best memories staying at this hotel and every single employee has made each stay special for me.

First Day Started out with flooded bath room and kids couldn’t use it so they had to take elevator to use lobby restroom. Finally got that repaired(1.5 hours later) and went down to the beach. Weather was great and family enjoyed the ocean. Went to get a bite at the bar/café near the pool with«live» music playing(DJ with an over the shoulder keyboard and a bass guitar player). We ordered 3 salads and two burgers. It took ONEHOUR to come out and came in ToGo boxes and bags. Obviously they want us to go to our room(no loss as the entertainment wasn’t good). Get to our rooms and we try to eat the food… burgers had such a charred & burnt flavor we couldn’t eat them and there was some kind of strong seasoning on the cold chicken placed on the salads we couldn’t eat them. So we order Pizza and finally get full enough to go to bed(me, wife, &3 kids). Everyone starts waking up and kicking off the covers… THEAC isn’t working… long night and no sleep. After a decent breakfast(service was poor and almost non-existent as they just watch you eat and leave) I let the manager know about our stay so far. They let us change rooms(imagine that process with the kids) and refunded my Hilton Honors Points for the night. So we head to the beach and have a blast with the kids. The resort has a better band playing for lunch(family friendly) and had set up a BBQ Chix, Ribs, and Crab leg buffet by the pool. Ends up being a «one time through» $ 14.99(very fair). I ask where to pay and a lady at the table taking tickets said we find a server/bartender to sell them to us. We finally find a table but no one waits on us after 20 minutes. I finally go up to a person wearing a colorful shirt and name tag and ask if she is our server and I point at my table…“no” is the reply. I asked her if she knew who was and that we just want the«picnic». She said that she could do that… my wife decided to get a chicken wrap instead. So me and the kids get the«picnic». I helped them get all they wanted and they loaded up. We all get settled and noticed we had plastic silverware and nothing to break the crab legs with. I asked the lady guarding the table and she replied, «no, you just have to break them with your hands»…hmmm? After trying to get through this with the kids(what a mess) I noticed a guy with a chef coat, it said«Executive Chef»…Great, just the guy I wanted! I asked him for something to help with breaking the crab legs, «I can get you the keg crackers» and he went to get them. Never saw him or anyone else come back out with them. Taste of the food was very poor and the crab legs were cold. The baked beans were Bush’s Beans straight out of a can. The chicken and ribs had a «Bull’s Eye» type sauce but had been baked with it on there and it was bitter. The bar and servers were overwhelmed and the whole place was very under staffed. Tab from night before was $ 91 plus tip(couldn’t eat), Picnic lunch tab $ 56, tab at pool side bar $ 34(Crown on rocks, piña colada, 3 virgin coladas). Slow service and poor food! By the way. Even with Internet upgrade we had to turn off the Wifi because the mobile service was faster!

Loved that all the suites had balconies, great place to catch the sunset or sunrise with coffee or wine! Very relaxing and not noisy, even during spring break! The food at the hotel was great and relatively priced for a pool side bar where the cute college girls served you! We also had a remarkable dinner inside the hotel at Café Amalfi — Top Chef caliber fine dining presentation and a varied menu. However, everyone was casually dressed, as it should be at a resort. There is a fun outdoor water park for the kids, as well as a lazy river and a huge golf course for adults. Now on to the negative, not much to say here-the pillows were huge and uncomfortable. I woke with a sore neck each morning! Easy 3 hr. drive from Charlotte, watch your speed-you go through some small towns and the speed drops down to 25 in some places.

I’ve seen fancier resorts but this one was pretty nice and clean. Great staff. Located right on the beach, however, this particular location of the beach does not have a boardwalk. The actually boardwalk is about a 20 mins drive. I was surprised that our suite had two full size beds instead of two queen sized beds, but my friend booked the room as a surprised(I never read the details). Love the fact that a mini frig and microwave was conveniently located in the room. Our favorite part was the reception which was from 5pm-730pm, UNLIMITEDFREECOCKTAILS. Pur bartender Karen was amazing. The resort also provided a free shuttle within a limited range from the hotel. Complimentary breakfast was nothing to be excited about but was definitely more than just boring bagels. My only complaint was that the tub did not drain properly when taking a shower. Maintenance fixed it very promptly.

An awesome hotel to say the least. We only stayed one night but the hotel was extremely nice. There was a great business room and fitness center. The best part is the free snacks and breakfast. The costumer service was more than helpful. The only downside was the room was a little crowded and the mattresses weren’t very comfortable. But with such a beautiful location you won’t be spending much time in the room. Also I don’t recommend the hotel’s restaurant.

Checked in at Embassy Suites at Kingston Plantation on Thursday night. Unfortuntaely, the room had a pet odor so I called the front desk. I was offered a condo near the hotel — I told the person I needed to be in the hotel due to meetings. He found a room. We gathered our things, went back to the front desk and was assigned to a room on the 15th floor of the hotel. Our keys wouldn’t work so we went back down again. By Saturday, we had our keys changed at least seven times(I lost count). No one could seem to figure out why the keys wouldn’t work.(There were several guests with the same problem.) During one of the key episodes, I asked about the code needed for the snacks on the 15th(premium) floor. I was told that we had not originally booked on the 15th floor so we would not be eligible for the code. Really? It would have been a small thing for a customer who had to change rooms and change keys multiple times during their stay. On Saturday night, I was asleep in the bedroom and my husband was watching TV in the living area. The fire alarm went off in the stairwell and fortunately, my husband heard it. There was no audible alarm or strobe in our room. So, we trekked down 15 flights to the ground level. Fortunately, there was no fire and the situation involved a malfunctioning elevator. What if there had been a fire — no audible alarm in the room. Not a pleasant stay.

What a wonderful time we had at the Embassy Suites. We took a little trip to South Carolina for a relaxation week and the Embassy Suites made it fun and easy. The hotel staff is courteous, professional and always with a smile on. The breakfast staff is especially AWESOME as they kept a bunch of people happy and fed. They are poised, worked tirelessly to have food for the guests and always kept the dining area clean and food plentiful. Kudos go to the omelet team who took a bunch of orders ands got it all right and kept the omelets hot. The rooms are clean, have great views and very modern. The internet in the room is a bit tricky to get on, but fast when you are logged on. You have the beautiful beach or the on-site water park keep the kids busy. I especially like the fact we can access all the pools on the property. The kids loved pool hopping and all the activities for them on the property. If you want a clean, modern and family oriented hotel, this is the place for you. The staff is great and always seem to have an answer and a smile!!!

Not enough good to be said about this place… had a great time and will visit again. The suites were just big enough, with a living room w/a kitchenette and balcony with an ocean view, full bathroom(of course), and a bedroom w/balcony access as well. The resort is right on the beach for quick and easy access. They have several pools on the property(adult on kid friendly). They have buffet style breakfast and special order. There is a lot to do one the compond and even more off… worth a visit… but you have to stay at least 5 days to really get the most out of your trip… just my opinion :)

So I’m staying here with a convention, and how we got from the Greenbrier last year to here this year is a mystery to me. I think this place needs to decide what it wants to be. If it wants to be a nice resort it has some work to do. While the lobby is nice and I realize the unfortunate views from 90% of the rooms can’t be help there are things they could do. Upgrade the patio furniture and the furnishings in the living room. That would be a nice start. Looks like they did the sheets, window treatments and rugs but stopped short on the towels. Is it really too much of an expense to have nice thick towels? And where is the bathrobe? Can’t be a resort without one. Also, the gift shop reeks of dollar store merchandise. Why aren’t there quality items? If you want upscale clients offer upscale amenities. The towels at the pool are even worse. Wrong size worn out, you name it. Upon arrival at the pool bar be prepared to bus and wipe your table, we did every day and be prepared to be out right ignored by the worst staff ever. And here’s a question for the ages, they can make sangria inside and give it to me in a plastic cup but the server at the pool bar won’t make it and won’t get it for me, but she will go and get you a sandwich. I’m just smh. Add to that the fact that there are 3 yes 3 elevators for 20 floors and a valet system that defies all logic and is maddeningly slow although never busy and you get the idea that this place just doesn’t care. The facility is poorly kept up during the day, sand never brushed from beach stairs, towel return areas overflowing. So if you want a bargain feel by all means you’ll be pleased. If you have higher expectations, look elsewhere.

This is my first time staying at the Kingston Plantation as we are spending time as a family before a deployment next week. We had a couple issues with the room key not working and had to take the keys back to the Reservation desk. Upon getting into the room, our A/C was not working and the first service tech who came to check on it had scheduled for another tech to come and fix the problem. It was 90 degrees and we were not aware how long the job would take. We called Guest Services and spoke to Quisha. Quisha did an outstanding job making it right for us. We were reassigned to another room in the Margate condo… AMAZING! The room seriously blew our socks off! We have never seen a room as beautiful and spacious. My kids each have a room of their own, it’s impeccably clean, great amenities, beautiful view of the ocean from all rooms, quiet and ample parking. Quisha, I hope your boss is reading this and knows how much you do to take care of your customers. It is evident that you enjoy your job and we will be writing a letter to your employers to emphasize how much we appreciate you! We hope your managers realize how valuable you are to their company and your excellent customer service is what keeps guests coming back. We are already talking about coming back here after the deployment. I would recommend Kingston Plantation to all of our friends simply because the customer service is here!!! Ten stars for Quisha!!!

My family has stayed here twice in the past year and we love it. It’s right on the beach, steps to the Boardwalk. It has a waterpark for kids, a pool for babies, about 2 pools deep enough to swim in but not too deep, a lazy river which is nice and warm and a whirlpool. Their complimentary breakfast is satisfactory and they have happy hour, starbucks and plenty of shops right in the hotel. Not to mention a gym and tennis court on the resort.

Attended a conference this weekend which took place in the Embassy. The individuals in guest services were extremely nice. My room was nice & tidy; and conference facility was also. There were two big major problems: food & hot water. After attending the conference initial session, I was so ready for a hot shower but when turned on the hot water there was none. Guest service sent someone from maintenance to try to fix the issue. The guy said it would be fixed shortly. It took about 30 mins. The second problem was my breakfast. I arrived at breakfast around 7:10 a.m.(Saturday) morning, I selected grits, scrambled eggs, bacon, & biscuit & gravy. Guess what??? The food was cold. I’ve stayed at many Embassy Suites for conferences or vacationing, and i shocked by the problems. Would I stay there again, maybe.
