We are near the Culinary Institute of Michigan, Pere Marquette Lighthouse., the Frauenthal Theater, the Lakeshore Museum Center, the Muskegon Museum of Art and L.C. Walker Arena. Enjoy our indoor and outdoor pool, two indoor spa tubs, exercise facility, on-site restaurant, room service and access to rooms with waterfront views upon request. Our business center offers access to a computer with Internet and copy and fax services. Seven meeting rooms are available and can accommodate 300 people for banquets and 250 for conferences. Other amenities include a free continental breakfast andfree wi-fi. All guest rooms offer cable television, a refrigerator, microwave, hair dryer, coffee maker, iron and ironing board. Some rooms offer a flat-screen television, sofa sleeper, whirlpool and kitchen facilities.

I loved this hotel. I loved the complimentary strawberry water in the lobby. We liked the complimentary breakfast. We loved our penthouse corner room. We loved the fire place in the room. We had a great time. We went in January. Great time to go for a great price during the off season. We will probably come back again soon!

The hotel is a little dated but the location is great. We stayed here for a wedding and completely enjoyed the 2 nights we were there. We used our room to sleep and for that it was perfect. We ate next door at the Lake House Restaurant and that was damn good too.
Only gripe was there were 3 wedding parties at the hotel so you would think the bar would’ve stayed open till close., which to me is 2 am. It didn’t. By 12:30, which she said was ½ hour after they normally close, they shut it down. Thank God we had plenty of booze in the car. The security let us continue our festivities till normal bar closing time. That was the silver lining. Be respectful and get respect.
If we’re ever in the Muskegon area again this is where we would stay. It was all good.

The best hotel in Muskegon, with the excellent views. Friendly staff, hot breakfast, good coffee. Walking distance from downtown. Indoor and outdoor pool, lobby bar. I will stay here again.

Friendly staff and pretty much the only nice hotel in the area. Good breakfast offered and has an indoor and outdoor pool for use (indoor is 24 hours which is rare). Now for the bad: Disgusting hot tubs, extremely loud AC units, refrigerator did not work, small rooms, incredibly uncomfortable bed, and extremely overpriced rooms and restaurants for Muskegon, Michigan.

I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. I’d visited Muskegon two times before and had always wanted to stay at Shoreline Inn. Happy I finally got to!
First things first, staff here was so kind, cheerful, and accommodating. Everybody was upbeat and courteous, from housekeeping to the front desk. That really resonated well with me. The night we drove in I called while we were still a few cities away to ask if there were any lakeside rooms available that we could switch over to. The gentleman on the phone was happy to help me and we ended up switching over to a room with a balcony facing the water. So pretty!
Our room was spotless and well taken care of. Two queen beds, a good sized bathroom, and a mini kitchen with a full size fridge. They offered cards that you could leave on your bed if you didn’t want your linens changed every day (to conserve water/energy) and I thought that was really nice, cause who really needs their blankets washed everyday?
My favorite part of my stay here though was the complimentary breakfast and all day coffee. Their breakfast was so so good, just thinking about it is making me hungry. Fluffy eggs, sausage, papitas, fresh fruit, and everything else breakfast-y from cereal to juice. All day carafes of regular and decaf coffee sit in the hotel lobby, so you can help yourself whenever you’d like. I loved that. Being out of town is exhausting, even if you are staying in a comfortable place. I felt like they understood that. Thanks for keeping me properly caffeinated, Shoreline Inn.
All in all, would recommend a stay here — at least once!

Nice!!! Only reason not a 5 is beds and linens are mediocre — that’s the worst I got;). So I’m not sure about bad reviews.
Beautiful property. Grills and a picnic area. Indoor outdoor pools are small, but do the job, and were fun. Beautiful sunsets. Restaurant 50 feet away was yummy. Did not eat in hotel. The grounds are shared with marina, got a little rowdy at night, but not out of control. 3 weddings going on, so lots of people. We got the last room.
Tip. Book at least days ahead we paid double, booking day before, but glad we booked it. Would return again

Nice property on the lake shore. Room was pretty expensive for two beds although we did have a full size fridge (a bit excessive) and microwave (didn’t use). $ 270/night
Wifi coverage in room (7^th floor) was poor. Speedtest showed 0.65 mb download speed and that was when I got two bars on my iPad. Never had three bars and sitting up in bed only got one bar or none. None of the other wireless items with us faired any better.
Room was warm and air had trouble keeping up. About 85 degrees that day.
Shower ran out of hot water after three showers in the morning but this was probably also at peak AM shower time for the hotel.
Breakfast was crowded and they put the items on the bar so kids had a lot of trouble reaching anything.
On the plus side…
Staff was very friendly.

My daughter and I stayed here for a weekend during the Holland Tulip Time Festival. The inn was completely booked and we arrived a midnight.
Our room was wonderful! We loved the view, fourth floor. Sliding glass doors we could open and catch the breeze! Wonderful view of the city and the water.
The continental breakfast the next morning was great! Super variety for choices. Real silverware and dishes.
Friendly staff. Room was very clean and comfortable.
We went to the festival and came back. Enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Took a nice walk around. Very safe feeling area.
They even offered cookies and milk from 7 to 9 pm!
Wonderful accommodations and atmosphere! We will hope to come back with our spouses for another stay.

Go ahead, indulge yourself and book one of their king penthouse suites, your worth it! They’re located on the 4 upper corners, about 900 Sq ft, open floor plan, fireplace, a couple tv’s, 4 balconies, full kitchen & separate bedroom. Bathroom needs some help but really comfee bed & charming elegant deco. Not my taste but fun for a weekend getaway.

Breakfast is decent, better than Hampton Inn, great coffee.
Suggestion: Bring binoculars, 240° views of the city and the lake. On weekends go down to breakfast before 9am, gets crowded.
We came from Howell for a concert at the LC Walker Arena (that’s another story). My husband is recovering from open heart surgery, good place to relax, peaceful, beautiful views. We’d come back!

This hotel has been refurbished to look like something out of 100 years ago. Yeah, that is part of its charm. Yet the big thing is the size of the room and the views. The rooms are very spacious. We stayed twice. Once in a room that fit 5 people (2 queen beds and a couch). The other time in a room that had a king and a queen with the bathroom in between. To top it off, there was a refrigerator, a microwave, and 2 TVs. The view over the lake and in several directions is good — there’s nothing to block it (I had rooms on the 8^th and 10^th — top — floor) For a family of 4 — bravo!
Right in the heart of Muskegon — yet we go because we visit Michigan’s Adventure Park. It is 10 minutes away.
There is a breakfast buffet. Fresh fruit; different choices depending on the day. The bacon was good. Had burritos once. All you can drink. View overlooking the outside.
Finally there’s a convenience store inside with microwavable dinners, drinks, even wine.
All-in-all — I’ll keep going back

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The hotel, which is newer than some of the photos of the interior imply (there’s a lot of flocked wallpaper, traditional furniture and vintage objets d’art like an old organ and old telephone in the lobby), is clean and in good repair; nice lounge/office area on the main floor. When you walk in you can even enjoy a glass of iced lemon and other fruit waters courtesy of decorative decanters in the lobby; nice. Our room was comfortable, had a great view of the water and included amenities like an iron, a small bar sink and a full-sized refrigerator — good for anyone needing an extended stay. The staff was friendly. The hotel includes a small bar with a decent stock of beers, wines and liquor, and will also order food for you from the associated restaurant next door and deliver it to your table; we had some tasty starters from there, plus regional craft beer from the bar. There’s a complimentary breakfast that I thought was better than average in terms of food choices and freshness; there was a bit of confusion as far as traffic flow because half the food was in the bar, on the bar, but the other food was in the adjoining dining room — some signage would have been helpful — but it was overall a good breakfast experience.
The hotel is in the perfect location, downtown but on a good chunk of open land near the water; easy to access, quiet and with a nice view of the water and the city. It’s also very close to Muskegon’s new downtown farmers’ market, the Frauenthal Theatre and the brewpubs and other new, hip businesses popping up in the old industrial neighborhood.
We would definitely come back, and definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Excellent stay! Beautifully decorated– new hotel with an old world feel. Rooms were spacious & immaculately clean. Fairly quiet. The hotel itself is booming with life & things to do, but I didn’t notice excessive noise in the rooms. Convenient restaurant/bar located next door. Right on the water. Great breakfast selection. It was great to wind down & relax in the hot tub, cool down in the pool, and crash on the comfortable beds. Will absolutely return!

We absolutely loved this hotel. Huge rooms with comfortable beds and a good amount of sound protection between each room. It was immaculate clean. I loved the historic feel of the hotel and yet they had done a lot of updates that have it a chic retro look. Our only complaint was that our shower didn’t get as warm as we would have liked. Talked to the front desk and they said we weren’t the only ones that complained that day.

Beautiful place right on the bay. The rooms are very nice and roomy. The prices off season are very reasonable but as expect, in season rates climb. My visit was at the end of Feb. so outdoor activity wasn’t an opinion but many other guest raved about the summer time and the countless things to enjoy around the hotel. Overall one of the nicer hotels I’ve booked.

Man! This place has so much potential! GREAT location! It was dark when I checked in, but it is on the lake, and the views are awesome. It was snowing like crazy when I stayed, and the whole atmosphere is awesome.
They do have a restaurant next door, and you can walk over and eat, or you can go to the bar and order and the bartender will run over and get it. I opted for that option, felt bad for the dude running across the lot, so I tipped him xtra for the effort.
Rooms are a bit outdated, but love the feel of this place. I am a diamond member at Choice Hotels, and this was a Ascend property, which are under the same umbrella. And with Diamond you get upgrades if you ask, I normally don’t ask, and didn’t have to here, and I got 2 free bottles of smart water and a suite with a fire place and hot tub!
I would definitely stay again, even thought the rooms are a bit outdated, the location and nostalgia of the hotel is great!

Beautiful structure. The hotel itself is unimpressive and outdated.
Rooms are small, bed was hard, pillows were flat. And I really don’t understand why a full size fridge is needed in the room.
It would be nice if they had a bar or restaurant to go to when you were bored.
