History

Established in 1973.

The practice started in 1973 by Dr. Winston Wood, a pediatric dentist. Dr. Connie Verhagen has been part of West Coast Pediatric Dentistry since 1976 when she became Dr. Wood’s dental assistant. After dental school, she cam back to the practice and was Dr. Wood’s partner for 18 years until his retirement. Dr. Verhagen considers this her dream job and enjoys providing dental care to children, teens and patients with special needs.

Business Owner

Dr. Connie Verhagen is a native of Muskegon and attended Western Michigan Christian High School. She received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Michigan in 1986. After graduating from dental school, Dr. Verhagen went on to complete her pediatric specialty training in a two-​year residency program and earned a Master of Science in Pediatric Dentistry in 1988, also from the University of Michigan. She started her dental career working as a dental assistant in the very same practice where she is now a dentist.

Dr. Verhagen is passionate about pediatric dentistry and the dental profession. She is a very active member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Michigan Dental Association, Michigan Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the Muskegon District Dental Society.

Dr. Verhagen feels truly blessed to be able to fulfill her lifelong dream of making a difference in the lives of children.
