On December 8, 2015 the subject business provided a dryer vent cleaning service. The 3 member staff came 2 hours late, but I allowed them to go ahead. They finished the cleaning of the dryer vent within 15 to 20 minutes. I was advised by one of the service staff that the outside vent was not closing. On December 18, I had my handy man come to replace the outside and a portion of the inside dryer vent. During the replacement of the inside vent I saw a large amount of lint in the vent. It looked as if nothing was done by the cleaning staff from Midwest. I sent a note to Midwest on December 18, through their web page, explaining my disappointment with the quality of the job. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, which resulted in a denial of my complaint by Craig Michaels the owner. He said his web site was hacked so he did not receive my note. The site is still up and working. I should have checked Unilocal before using his service, there are two very dissatisfied customers with current posting.
After filing a complaint on the BBB Mr. Michaels called me to explain why he thought I was wrong, and would not listen to my concerns, the call ended when he hung up, a very poor business owner. He doesn’t stand behind his service.

Warning: Stay Away. You want nothing to do with this so called business. The guy who runs this scam is Craig Michels and is a total jerk and completely dishonest.
Be aware he doesnt always pay his untrained empoyees/subcontrctors/workers?whatever they are, and that can open you up to having a contractors lien being filed against you or your property.
I originally posted this review in the fall of 2015 when I became aware he was not paying all his workers. After being personally assured by the owner Craig Michels that he was going to pay his workers I deleted my post. As of Jan 26 2016 workers are still trying to get paid from jobs completed last fall in good faith for this crook. Complete liar. So it gets reposted. You dont want to get caught up in this legal mess.
These guys spend all day at your property and then the sun comes out and the windows look all streaky and smeared from the old squeegee and dirty rags they are using to wipe all over the glass. Who taught these guys?
What a ripoff
If you want a good laugh go ahead and hire these guys. You will pay for it, but you will get a good laugh!
I have personally observed his workers lean a ladder against aluminum siding with no protection and the ladder scratches the siding.
Also one of the workers re-​installed every upper storm window backwards. Every one of them. Duh!
When I noticed the rubber on the squeeqee the worker was using looked old, dried, and cracked the worker said they couldnt remember when the rubber was last changed but it had been at «least a couple of months».
I am not one to normally take the time to do a review and hate to be so negative but I had such a bad experience with this company that I dont want anyone else to get burned and tangled up with this scandalous company.

While the staff was polite, they were undertrained, and more importantly– the owner is a jerk! The final bill was much more than the estimate, and when we brought this to the attention of the owner, he screamed at us over the phone, saying we «just did not want to pay».
Stay away from him! We had to finish the job ourselves because we refused to deal with him any more!

Craig Kellie Michael – Midwest Custom Cleaning «cleaned» our windows and power washed our house. The crew was nice, but disorganized and seemingly had no training. Two crew members stood while one cleaned. The crew skipped many windows and did not remove the moss from the roof. The power washing was basically spraying down the house – they did not use any brushes. After calling to report the missed windows and poor cleaning to the company, Craig called my husband «an asshole who doesn’t want to pay.» He told my husband he was coming to our home the next day. Craig ended up sending the same crew back the next day. I wish I could post the pictures of our smeary windows (the ones that were actually done). We paid in full – I guess out of fear of being bullied by the owner. I would never recommend this company. I can’t believe they are truly a cleaning company.
